DOUG JONES GUEST STARS AS DC COMICS’ VILLAIN DEATHBOLT — Lance (Paul Blackthorne) continues his mission to take down the Arrow (Stephen Amell) so Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) orders Oliver to keep a low profile. However, when a meta-human named Jake Simmons (guest star Doug Jones), who kills people with blasts of energy and plasma, starts terrorizing Starling City, Oliver is forced to ask Ray (Brandon Routh) for help. Ep 19 recap:
Roy Harper is arrested.
A building has a power blip. Security checks it out. The guard's flashlight dies. Metahuman kills him. Other guard runs, but he's blasted, too.
Roy taken to the SCPD. Oliver cuffed to a chair. Lance says Proud of yourself? Oliver says I didn't tell him to do that. Laurel comes in and says don't say another word. DA is ordering Oliver be released. Lance tells Oliver this isn't over.
Felicity at work. Ray asks what she's doing in the office. Oliver and Roy are in handcuffs. She says Oliver was released. She says she's okay. She asks about him. He says I said I love you, but a lowercase L, so let's not make it a thing. You'd just saved my life. Well, I'll let you get back to work slash worry.
Oliver sees Roy. Tell me why. Roy says remember what I said when I found our you're the Arrow? Yeah, you said I saved your life. Roy says now I get to save yours. First time since I remembered what I did to that officer, I'm okay.
Hong Kong. Maseo gives Oliver the passcard to the field office for ARGUS.
Oliver meets with Malcolm. Malcolm says Ra's won't stop. People are being murdered and your days as the Arrow are finished. Oliver says he's going to break Roy out of prison.
Thea watching the news. Oliver says I'm going to make it right. News shows 4 dead at the bank. Police comes in with a warrant to search the basement!! Oh no...... Lance says I got you now, you son of a bitch.
Lance points out the crate. Police has a fingerprint match - to Roy. Lance is pissed. He tells Oliver you will make a mistake eventually and I'll be there when it happens.
Felicity and Diggle wiped the place. Oliver wants to grab his secondary stuff. Diggle says you can't do anything without being followed.
So they go to Ray. We need your help. Oliver says there's a meta that's killing people. Police are all over Oliver, so we need you. Ray says so it's a team up! High five! LOL.
Hong Kong. Oliver finds a shot Amanda Waller. She says they've been holding her for weeks. General Shrieve targeted us for death. He's going to unleash the Alpha-Omega on Hong Kong. The team has a vaccine. She tells him to run far from Hong Kong. Go!
Roy at the prison. He's escorted to the phone to talk to Thea. How are you? He says I told the guards I didn't want to see you. She asks what's going on? He says I made a promise to myself that I'd never lie to you again. I didn't want to break that promise. She pushes. He says know that I'll be fine. Is that a lie? He has tears in his eyes. He hangs up the phone.
Oliver comforts her on the phone. Ray visited the bank to get photos from the crime scene. Jake Simmons, a serial bank robber from Central City. He went in a processing plant and never came out. Oliver says on it. Ray says I thought this was about you staying out of the spotlight. Oliver says this guy is a killer and you aren't ready for that. Ray says but I'm a man of science and this guy was made with science, so... Oliver says fine, and gives instructions.
Ray goes out there. Felicity's nervous. He's babbling. Oliver tells Felicity that there's a decent chance you and he are related. LOL. Ray finds an empty place, until.... Simmons and Ray fight. Ray manages to fly out of a bad spot, then crashes. Felicity keeps trying to reach him through the comm.
Ray is back. Felicity asks if he's hurt. Oliver says you're lucky to get out of there alive! You need to anticipate your opponent. Trust your instincts. Relying on the suit more than yourself will get you killed.
Hong Kong. Oliver told Maseo. We can't get out alive. Oliver says if we can't run, then we steal the vaccine.
Prison. Roy taken back to his cell. Prisoners attack him. He takes on 3 guys. Guards run in. Roy gets on his knees.
Lance at Thea's home now. Chief sent a man to talk to Lance about going hard on Oliver Queen when they have a suspect in custody. Thea comes home. Tells him to get out of her home. Lance's phone rings. Roy was attacked. He's alright, but it won't be the last time. When Roy gets a shiv in the back, that'll be on your brother's head, too.
Ray and Felicity figure out Simmons. Thea comes to the office and tells Oliver about Roy's attack. Diggle stops Oliver from going. Oliver pushes him. Diggle says you have to throttle this back. You have to, or we lost everything. Oliver says I've already lost everything. I'm not going to lose Roy.
Felicity chases after Oliver. He says I can't just do nothing. She says you need to let people help you! Maybe more is going on with you. You sacrificed everything to be The Arrow, but whether or not your break Roy out, there is no more Arrow. Ra's took that from you. Oliver says I can't live by either name, so I don't know who I am. She says I know who you are. You are the man I believe in. She almost says you're the man I love.
Hong Kong - Oliver and Maseo go in with Katana. Oliver grabs a soldier. Where's the vaccine? They grab it. Then escape into a vent.
Prison. Lance visits Roy. Roy signed a confession. Lance brings up the corpse that the Arrow killed. You had an obsession with the Arrow and I knew you'd come to a bad end. I'm still trying to save you, son. Roy admits he killed the officer. Lance says being in here doesn't make up for anything you did out there. He leaves.
Felicity looking for a place to put a thing. Simmons finds her, but she doesn't recognize him. He takes his sunglasses off and shows her his glowing red eyes. Uh oh.
Oliver and Ray. Simmons is at the power station. He calls her phone. Simmons picks up. I'm talking to the man in the suit, right?
She gets a chance to get away.
Oliver and Ray argue. Until Ray gets an idea. Oliver controls his body in the suit.
Simmons grabs Felicity. Ray blasts Simmons. Ray tells her to get out! Then Oliver fights Simmons. Until the transmitter is severed. Get up, Ray! Fight back! This is not about strength. It's about heart. You saved Felicity. Heroes do that. Ray fights back and knocks Simmons out. Felicity hugs him.
Prison. Roy keeps an eye out. Guard knifes him!! Roy?
Oliver comes home. Thea and Lance there. Roy was killed an hour ago. Lance says I'd say I'm sorry, but I think we both know whose fault this is. Ouch!
Arrow Cave. It's a mess. Oliver picking up pieces. Diggle and Felicity behind him. Oliver says I shouldn't have listed to you. I might not have saved Roy, but I'd feel better if I'd tried. Diggle says we know. You might not forgive us. Roy walks in! How? Roy says it was my idea. He conspired with Diggle and Felicity. One of Lyla's contacts can stab people just the right way. Everyone thinks The Arrow is dead, so Oliver Queen is innocent. Oliver says what happens to Roy Harper?
Tell Thea I'm alive and I'm sorry I had to leave without saying goodbye. Edge of the city. Diggle says call me any time you need something. Felicity hugs him. She gave him an untraceable satellite phone. Roy thanks Oliver. Oliver thanks Roy. Roy gets in the car and drives away. Felicity tells Oliver that you need to remember people love you. She gets in Ray's car. Poor Ray, who saw that she still loves Oliver.
Hong Kong. The boy is asleep. Maseo says there's enough for 3. Oliver says take it and be safe. I'm going to stop them. She says no, we are. Oliver says you need to take care of your son. She says you need to learn to let people help you.
Ray and Cisco lock up Deathbolt. How do they get fed or....? Cisco says Simmons was in custody elsewhere on the explosion night, so how can he be a metahuman?
Thea looking at photos of her and Roy. She pours a glass of wine. Ra's in the apartment! She drops the glass. She says my brother's going to kill you! She throws a knife and Ra's catches it. She comes at him. He easily plays with her. Then stabs her with his sword. Holy crap!!!
Next ep - Thea will be saved by the Lazarus Pit.
