BLAST FROM THE PAST – Liam’s (guest star Jason Gedrick) shocking history makes Cat (Kristin Kreuk) delve deeper into the Ellingsworth family, where she learns of their tragic past. Vincent (Jay Ryan) and Cat realize that they will need to use their secret weapon if they want to take Liam down. Meanwhile, JT (Austin Basis) has a theory about how to save himself but it involves none other than Liam. Nina Lisandrello and Nicole Gale Anderson also star. Ep 12:
Cat in the car. Heather on the phone. Cat suddenly hits a man. It's Liam. You'll be dead soon and he'll be all alone. He stabs her.
Heather wakes Cat from her nightmare. She's scared for the Ellingsworths. Things are getting out of control and I'm not great with the lack of control. Heather tells her to stop obsessing about Vincent living past her. He comes home. Says LIam is about to make a move. Cat asks what's he waiting for? Vincent says Liam wants them to suffer. Vincent's off to work so he doesn't lose his job. Cat says we need Liam alive. Well, JT needs him alive. Getting a sample of Liam's blood may be JT's only hope. Vincent proposes erasing Liam's memory like Reynolds did to him. If we can erase Liam's memories, then we can erase his drive. Cat says it's a long shot. Vincent wants their happily ever after back, so we have to move now. He kisses her goodbye and leaves.
JT and Tess. JT's dressed for hockey. A charity slap shot. Tess says try to enjoy yourself for once. Announcer introduces JT. He gets on the ice. Takes the shot, and scores a goal. Crowd cheers!
Cat's late for work. Lt. says IA is waiting for you. Ellingsworths are unhappy with you. She tries to explain to IA. They're opening a formal review of her record. You're taking this personally, Detective. She says take it up with her union rep. I have a bad guy to stop.
Vincent is asked for at work. Helen Ellingsworth. That can't be good.
Vincent sees Helen. Liam spoke so highly of you. She has a cough. She asks tell me straight, am I dying? He says you got here just in time. You have a toxic amount of thallium in your blood. It's banned because it's colorless and odorless, making it perfect to poison someone with. He says your brother and I are not exactly friends, so I have to question his motives. I'm sorry to be the bearer of this bad news. And I will save your life.
JT and Tess coming back. He says you're trying to fill my bucket list. She says doing nice things for you is a crime? He says no, but it's not what I should be doing. Even if they get Liam's blood, there's no guarantee. I want to be helping Vincent and Cat. If I don't have much time left, I want to spend it trying to help. Can we just go home, please?
Cat meets with her father in prison. Tells him about Liam. He says when you're old and Vincent still looks the same, he'll have to go into hiding again. Does Liam know you're related to Rebecca? She says she doesn't think so. She asks how he erased Liam's memory. He says it took me weeks to do that. She asks for the formula. He says get me a furlough and I'll do it for you. She says she can't. He says you can't do this without me. She says I've done it my entire life.
Vincent calls her. Why did Liam poison Helen, then send her to you? He says maybe it's a distraction. She says do everything you can to protect her. Maybe then she'll be open to hearing about Liam.
Liam visits Helen. She says I feel worse. She asks him to not fight with Scott. He's a good son. He can help you look after the family. Liam says once you're gone, they'll follow, just like I planned. It took me decades to get to this point to right all the wrongs by this family. He injects her IV. My mother had an affair with a monster and I suffered. Not her, not them. Know this before you die - The Ellingsworth line will end tomorrow. Helen flat-lines.
Vincent runs into Liam. I will not let you kill her. Liam says I know. You did it for me. Code alarm. Vincent runs in, calls for a nurse.
Cat gets home. She gives Heather the formula. JT gave me a name that will help, no questions asked. Heather asks what's about this will? I didn't realize you're this scared! Now I'm scared! Cat hugs her and says you're not going to lose me. I've been thinking about dying re: the Vincent living forever thing. Heather says don't obsess because that's what got Rebecca killed. Cat says meet us at JT's.
She meets Vincent at the hospital. Liam set me up. Helen had an allergic reaction to the treatment I prescribed. Cat says we know whatever Liam is planning started with Helen. We can't let him mess with our heads, or he'll take us out like he did Rebecca and Alastair. He agrees. She says we're going to need a lot more than the formula.
Heather got everything. Do you know how to use this stuff? Cat says you might not want to stay. Vincent bursts through the window holding Reynolds. Sorry, I had to take a detour. Heather says Aww, man, you broke him out of prison? Cat says told you it was going to get dangerous. LOL!!
Reynolds mixing the chemicals. Heather assisting. Cat and Vincent tell him to hurry. Reynolds says this isn't as easy as it looks, so back up. I turned Vincent into an assassin by making him focus on the task. Vincent and Cat off to get Liam. Tess and JT get back. Reynolds says my life is over and all I have to show for it are the people I hurt. This is a chance to make amends, to stop a monster. You can take me back to prison afterwards. But you can't do this without me. Please let me help.
Liam with the son. The service will be held in the crypt under the church. The son wants to wait for the weekend. Mother made such a difference in people's lives. Liam says this is family-only. Have all the Ellingsworths here at 3 sharp. Vincent shoots Liam in the back with a lot of darts. Liam asks what the hell did you do? Vincent says nothing. She did. Cat has the gem. Liam asks where did you get that? Rebecca Reynolds, my ancestor.
JT injects Liam. Liam twitches and shakes. Vincent says make sure it works on him like it worked on me. Reynolds says I'm not sure we have enough time. Cat says Tess will distract the manhunt. Reynolds says It took weeks to turn Vincent. Liam asks what are you doing? Vincent asks what the plan is? Tell us and this can be over. Liam says you can't stop me. Rebecca couldn't either. You're dead. All of you. Reynolds finds the eulogy. Cat reads it. The end of the family line. Vincent says Helen's death was bait to lure the rest of the Ellingsworths to their deaths. Liam says Busted..... He's pretty stoned right now.
Morning. Reynolds injects Liam again. When is the funeral? Three. Today? Yes. Rebecca. Vincent says it's past 2, we have to get the Ellingsworths out now.
Cat and Vincent go to the church. A window blows out. They run in. Vincent calls out. Can you hear me? Cat asks why are they still alive? Vincent says it's a setup. There has to be a second bomb.
Reynolds works on Liam. Calls for another syringe.
Cat can't find anything. Vincent says think about Liam's MO. He's doing his best to remove the chucks blocking the crypt.
Liam is remembering Alastair and Vincent and Catherine and Rebecca. Reynolds tells them to run. It's not working. He shoots Liam with more darts after Liam breaks free of the restraints.
Cat finds the explosive. Vincent says pull the wires! All of them! She does. Vincent in Beast mode to move the debris. He clears a small opening and sees a kid. Kid sees him.
Heather and JT meet Cat and Vincent. What's going on? Where's my dad? Cat hurries upstairs. The place is a mess. Dad? He's on the floor, a bloody mess. And dead. Cat sobs over him.
*How are they going to explain that? Make Reynolds' disappearance an unsolved case? Anyone seeing the body will think he was torn up by an animal.*
Night. Tess wants IA to drop the case against Cat. Liam rigged an attempted massacre against his whole family. IA says it doesn't explain Chandler's record. He also asks what happened to her father. Someone left his body in Central Park looking like it was mauled by an animal. Tess tells him she has better things to do than indulge this witch hunt.
JT calls Tess. He's not sure, but it looks like Liam's healing properties are working on him. He hasn't had a nosebleed in hours. He says hurry over. Never know if I'll develop some weird side effects. She hangs up, running over there. Awwwwww.
Vincent and Cat at a bar. He left the body and called 911 from a burner phone. She thanks him. She can't help thinking Reynolds would still be alive if we hadn't broken him out. Vincent says he did good. Died how he wanted to. He saved the Ellingsworths. She says yeah, but Liam now thinks we're Rebecca and Alastair. Vincent says yeah, he wanted more time. She says time is a big thing lately. You never know when you wake up if today will be your last. She says we have to let go of all it to have our happy ending. We have to go after Liam. This is it. They toast to her dad with red wine.
Liam watches them through the window.
Next ep - Sept 10. Season finale. Vincent in trouble.
