“The Patriot”
Separated from their team, Coulson and Mack discover a shocking secret about Mace, leaving all of S.H.I.E.L.D. in a precarious position, on “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” TUESDAY, JANUARY 17 (10:00–11:00 p.m. EST), on the ABC Television Network.

Ep 10:
Mace gives a speech in Sunbury, PA. Daisy Johnson can step into the spotlight and get the recognition she deserves. She's thanked for saving people on a bridge from the Watchdogs. One of the women saved speaks. Coulson and Mack keeping watch. Talbot's watching. They wonder what's in the briefcase. Coulson spots that there's no agent on the roof now. The woman hugs Daisy. She spots a sniper. Fires into the podium. Talbot tells Coulson to get Mace out pronto. Quinjet standing by.
Daisy is left behind to take out the sniper.
AIDA's head. Fitz wanted it tested. Simmons thinks it should be destroyed. Don't go near it.
May and Talbot. Mace is fine, being taken to a safe house. Talbot wants May in the interrogation room. He orders Simmons to find out if Burrows was on the Quinjet. He tells May she's the most intimidating woman he's ever met, excluding his mother. Get the answers.
Radcliffe wants to examine AIDA and figure out what went wrong. Fitz tells him to stay clear from HQ a few days. It'll blow over. I'll still pop round for football matches. Fitz leaves. Radcliffe asks AIDA for 4 aspirin. We have a problem with Agent May. AIDA says she's in a better place now. Radcliffe says The LMD. She's all on her own. I need to keep an eye on her. AIDA has confidence in him, but he's worried.
Daisy with the sniper. Ex-KGB, ex-Hydra. SHIELD had thought he was dead. Who is your supplier? May enters. The man says we didn't fail. Phase 1 only had a 13% chance of success.
Mack says this doesn't make sense. Mace suggests Nadir. Coulson says no. This was sloppy. Quinjet can't get signal. Agent can't get bars on his phone. Door blows. Agent is sucked out. They've lost the port engine.
Crashed jet. Coulson and Mack okay. Mace, too. Pilot's dead. Impaled by a tree. Mace says this is not a coincidence. Coulson agrees. No comms. Mace says HQ can still track the transponder. Coulson's arm has no signal. Coulson wants to get to high ground. Mace says we have to find Burrows.
Radcliffe. May does not look comfortable. Neo-cortical activity is erratic. Radcliffe says there's been enough harm done already. Don't terminate anyone! He needs to recalibrate her. May-bot doesn't know she's an android. She'll get closer to Coulson and find out where the book is. AIDA says isn't the real Agent May already prone to violence?
Team knows the jet crashed. Talbot says we need to act fast. Gives May clearance to take the Zephyr. Simmons is the highest ranking agent here. Talbot wants to regain contact. Phone rings. President looking for an update. Talbot tells what he knows. Hope Mace got the package.
Wandering the woods. Coulson says you need that briefcase. Mace says it's classified. Mack hears engines. Trucks. Coulson recognizes Hydra tech. Mace sticks to the plan. Find the case.
Fitz and Simmons. Fitz says the program showed progress. Maybe we could reboot the head and diagnose the problem together. She tells him to drop it. Our friends are missing, maybe dead. He only wanted to - She knows. He says to protect you. Daisy's back and May's too stubborn to give up.
May is awake! She frees herself. AIDA walks in and grabs her by the throat. Radcliffe yells at her.
AIDA, don't kill her! We have to sedate her. May tries to fight and AIDA drugs her. Radcliffe asks what was that? AIDA says I did what you asked? He says fetch some restraints. We misjudged what it takes to make Agent May comfortable.
Daisy and May. May sitting in Lola. Daisy joins. Did he ever let you drive her? May has one image, an early missing. Madrid? Coulson had a mustache and gave me the keys. He told me not to let anyone else know. She can't shake this feeling something is off. Daisy asks off how? Did I miss something while I was gone? They reach the crash site, but there's no Quinjet.
Bad guys have the briefcase. Mace says only I can open it. Coulson gives tactics.
Talbot with the sniper. How did you know the Director would get on the Quinjet? He says probability. Talbot asks what kept you alive when I wiped out Hydra? Believe me, I can make Siberia feel like a luau if you don't give answers.
Talbot misses the Cold War. LOL. Fitz tells him about the false transponder signal. Simmons wants to do a thorough analysis of Mace's file. Project Patriot. She now has access. Burrows....what aren't you telling us, General? He says you don't want to get into this with me. She wants to know why he's been steering her from finding this. He says clear the room. There's a very good reason Mace is never far from that briefcase.
Mack and Coulson start the attack. Mace sneaks toward the case. He's spotted and runs. Mack and Coulson wonder what the hell is he doing? I don't know.
Mace opens the case. Has to fight a bad guy. He's shot after the vials are shot. Coulson and Mack save him. Coulson says he doesn't have Inhuman powers. Doesn't have powers at all.
**Oooooooo.......Talbot put a fake Inhuman as Director. Someone trusted as a hero and all that........he's never trusted Inhumans, so it makes sense. This was the way to pick someone he liked in the job. Wonder how long before Coulson is back in charge?
Tie off Mace's wound. Drug cocktail gave him the super strength. Calibrated for his DNA. Who is they? Coulson says Talbot.
Simmons says you lied to all of us. Talbot says you didn't need to know. They made a candidate because none existed as an Inhuman. They modified Daisy's father's formula. Took out the bad stuff. They only gave it to Mace when he needed to put on a show. He was coming off the last dose and meeting with Burrows for more.
Mace regrets Burrows involvement, and hates they're out here without protection. Mack says they don't need it. Mace says I only lied because those were the orders. They hope there's a med kit in the ranger station. More bad guys coming.
Simmons says they could be on the run unaware their enhanced asset is a charlatan. Yes. Fitz doesn't have time to get the real signal. We need a way to motivate the Russian.
Simmons enters. She brought tools. There's a 100% chance I get inside your head. The only question is whether you survive afterward. Shows him AIDA's head.
They tell May and Daisy where to go.
Coulson says the transmitter truck is by the tool shed. Mace says you should've left me in the woods. Mack wants the plan. Coulson tells Mace to suit up. Mace says I don't have powers. Coulson says they don't know that.
Mace addresses the bad guys. Says Nadir wants this case, a cure for Inhumans. Don't suppose she told you what this is worth. Either I crush this case, or....they offer to kill him and take it. He says I'm the only one that can open this case.
Mack chokes a bad guy out behind the cabin.
Mace wants to end this without bloodshed. We'll talk this through. Explosion. Coulson shields him. Mack blew up the truck, so they just need to survive.
Mack's out of ammo. Finds an ax. Fights a bad guy.
Coulson and Mace low on ammo. How's your aim? Mace didn't think he'd need it. Ground shakes. Daisy to the rescue. Where's Mack?
May hits the guy with a shovel. He fights both of them. They win, but she hurt her shoulder.
Radcliffe says May is resilient. She never stops fighting. Flaw was in May. She thrives on conflict. We need to give her an opponent, a dragon to slay.
Fitz plugged into AIDA's head. Downloaded the data. Simmons finds him. He says I was just locking away the head. He's impressed how she handled Talbot.
Talbot and Coulson arguing. Talbot says you needed a face for your poster. I delivered a patriot. That man could've done anything after Vienna! Mace asks for the room, please. Please. Talbot thinks a damn spy would understand the need to keep a secret. Mace says after the explosion, everything was chaos. Smoke in my eyes. I wanted to get to safety and I tripped. Someone snapped a picture. They treated me like the man I always wanted to be. Few months later, Talbot came with an offer. I believe Inhumans deserve the same rights of anyone else in this country. I'll call a press conference, resign, reinstate you as Director. Coulson says you're not going anywhere. SHIELD needs a face. Keep the title, handle the politics. I never liked that part, anyway. But when it comes to ops, make no mistake - now I'm calling the shots.
**Ha, see? Coulson back in charge. Most of us have been waiting for it, yes?
May opens her locker. Looks at her shoulder and finds metal under the skin. Daisy offers help. No, it's just a scratch. Daisy says Coulson's gathering everyone. May says see you in there. You okay? Never better.
Next ep - Sunset protocol. Activate it. Nadir giving a press conference about SHIElD being criminals. Coulson arrested? There's a leak. A traitor. AIDA and May fight again.
