"First Blood"
THE HUNTERS BECOME THE HUNTED - After being arrested for the attempted assassination of the President of The United States, Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) must find a way out of an underground, government-run, detention facility in the middle of nowhere. Determined to find her sons, Mary (guest star Samantha Smith) and Castiel (Misha Collins) seek assistance from an unlikely source. Robert Singer directed the episode written by Andrew Dabb (#1209). Episode 9:
The Road So Far..................
Mama Winchester in a diner. Phone rings. Cas. Mary, where are you? She's in Lawrence. He says I need you to meet me at the bunker and hangs up.
Winchester case. 6 hours ago, Sam and Dean Winchester tried to kill the POTUS. They haven't said a word since we picked them up. FBI investigated them back in 2007. Most Wanted in 2011. They died, but apparently not. The aide girl hasn't been seen since. Last thing POTUS remembers was 3 days beforehand. Drugged? One wants to kill the boys. The other says what if they're not working alone? They might be the tip of some nasty-ass iceberg.
Visits Dean first. Offers coffee, water, food. I've got a chocolate bar here somewhere. Want to tell me about your day? Why you went after POTUS? Let me guess, you don't like cops. We can be jackasses - talking to Sam. But you will talk to me, son. torture doesn't work. But what works every time? Nothing. When I leave, that door closes and you stay in the dark. After a month, a year, you spend enough time staring at the walls, you'll get so crazy to talk, you'll tell me what I need. You'll tell me with a smile. No one's in a hurry to get you a phone call, so you and me, we have all the time in the world.
MoL British guy starts typing on a typewriter. And it types back. Nice. He's been trying to make inroads with the American hunters, but there have been setbacks.
With a hunter in a diner. Work with us and you'll get the best of support. you need people like us and we need hunters like you. All we ask is you go where you're told and do what you're told. Hunter says your hands are soft. Ever hunt anything? Mick is tactical. Long strategy. Hunter isn't interested in working with a stranger. Take your offer and shove it up your ass. Leaves money for the burger.
American hunters have proven difficult. As for the Winchesters...
Mary is mad at Cas. Stop making excuses! Why, if they needed help, didn't they call me? He says you were out. She says how did we let this happen, Castiel?
Dean unscrews a bolt from the bed. Carves on the wall. One hash tag. Dinner arrives. Sam doesn't like it. Dean is okay. More days go by. And days.
Crowley won't help Cas. He can't help because this is above his spies' paygrade. Don't care Sam and Dean are gone. But they're like herpes. Wherever they are, I pity the fool. LOL.
Mary in the kitchen. Phone rings. She wanders to it. In a desk. Woman calling for Dean. Mary? This is Alicia. Me and my brother are working a case in Louisiana. It's a pack. We need help. Mary asks where are you?
Dean makes more hash marks. Sam works out. Dean shaves. Sam works out. Paces. Sits. Dean sits on the floor.
Mary and Cas. She apologizes. I was angry. It's not your fault. He says you were right. Have you heard anything? She doesn't have contacts anymore. I'm trying but... You? I keep telling myself they're fine. 6 weeks. She says we'll find them. We're doing our best? He says are we? Murders in Lancaster, Missouri. Vampire. Cas saw it on the news. With Sam and Dean gone..... I don't know what I did wrong. I asked questions, but I never found it, never got close. 3 more women died before I ran away. She says we go back, you and me. He says no. I'd only get in your way.
Meal again. It's not as nice as before. Sam seems passed out. Guard did CPR, but he was gone. They open Dean's cell. Same. Dead.
On morgue tables. I don't get it. They died on the same day? How is that possible? Officials bicker again. The younger one wanted them punished. Older one turns the lights out when he leaves.
Mary leaves a voicemail for Cas. She's handling Missouri.
Dean gasps awake and coughs. Sam is sitting up. You good? Dean says been better. Been worse. Sam says it worked. Dean says so far. Doc comes back. Dean grabs him. Where are we? The doc says they blindfold me. This place is not supposed to exist.
Boys get outside. Dean makes a call on the stolen cell. Cas doesn't pick up. Sam finds a map. Dean keeps calling. Cas. Dean? Where are you? Dean has no clue. Sam shows him the map. They're in Rocky Mtn. National Park. Cas, meet us there. Sooner the better, we're on the clock here.
Vampire missing a head. Mary gets back in the car. Phone rings. Cas. Telling her about the boys.
Officials return. The hell? Doc locked in a morgue box. Hey. LOL. Officials don't get what happened, but they're out there. This time, we do it my way. Sending soldiers after them with shoot to kill orders.
Sam and Dean jogging through the forest.
Cas meets Mary. Gets in the car. She wonders what they're walking in to. Cas says we might want backup. Crowley, Rowena. She says we can do better than that. She tells him to put on a seatbelt. I drive fast.
Searching for the boys. Old guy is huffing and puffing.
Dean and Sam cross a river.
Mary and Cas meet with MoL. Mick. You took on Lucifer? Did you win? yes. Bravo. Mary says Sam and Dean were taken. We need help. Mick says we'll help. I came to assist, but you Americans don't trust people you don't know. I can't help the suspicions, but I can help you. We might even become friends. Mary tells them where. MoL knows about black sites. Cas says we're too meet them off state route 34. Mick will task a satellite. Other man asks what trouble we're walking in to? Cas doesn't know. The man says good, I do love a surprise.
Gov't team is close. Boys run again. Hide behind trees. Take one soldier. Dean answers the walkie talkie. Norton has gone night-night. Call your boys off and turn around and no one gets hurt. The official doesn't agree. You can't run forever. You're trapped out here. Dean says what we have here is a failure to communicate. You're trapped out here with us. Sam has the soldier's rifle.
Dark. Dean and Sam find a cabin. Dean finds a knife. Sam lights a lantern. Hunter cabin has animal traps. Dean sets one out. Sam finds a first aid kit.
Feds find the cabin. Enter the place. No boys. Looking around outside. Sam and Dean start attacking. One was shot through the floorboards. A soldier shoots back at the floor.
Dean knocks one out outside. Sam takes out another inside. Gives the kit to the guy with bullet woulds. You'll live.
Dean got the young official in the bear trap. Sam has a rifle on the old guy. Want the truth? The President was possessed by the Devil. We saved his life. That's the truth. Dean says do what you want with that, but come after us, you know what will happen. Old guy asks who are you? Sam says we're the guys that save the world.
They find Cas. Hugs. Mom! Sam hugs her. Then Dean. Sam asks how did you find us? She says they helped. MOL. They borrowed a satellite with thermal imaging. Sam says we should leave. The Brits says it's unprofessional to leave survivors. Dean says they were soldiers following orders.
In the car with Mary. Dean says you're hunting? She says a little bit. Car shuts down. Sam says it's time. Stop on a bridge. They get out. What's happening? Billie greets them. Mary doesn't understand. Dean says that place, only one way out, and that wasn't breathing. So I made a call.
In the cell, Dean summoned her. Then she came to Sam. We made a deal. We get to come back one more time. Come midnight, a Winchester goes bye-bye permanently. Dean says being in the cell was worse than Hell. Sam says at least one of us gets to keep fighting. Billie says they made a pact bound in blood. Break that, there's consequences on a cosmic scale. Who's it going to be? Mary says me. Works for Billie. Mary holds a gun to her head. I love you. Billie is stabbed! Cas killed her with the angel blade. Dean asks what have you done? Cas says what had to be done. This sad, doomed little world, needs you. I won't let any of you die. You mean too much to me, to everything. yeah, you made a deal. A stupid deal, and I broke it. You're welcome.
Mick typing. Winchesters back, for better or worse. Mr. Ketch took care of the loose ends. Slit throats. Every person that knew is dead. Last thing we need is for the US Gov't to sniff about, asking questions.
Mick tries convincing another hunter. Mary. She's listening.
Next ep - CW doesn't show it in favor of moving on to Riverdale premiere.
