"Regarding Dean"
DEAN LOSES HIS MEMORY - Sam (Jared Padalecki) enlists Rowena's (guest star Ruth Connell) help to track down an old world, powerful family of witches after Dean (Jensen Ackles) gets hit by a spell that is rapidly erasing his memory. John Badham directed the episode written by Meredith Glynn (#1211). Original airdate 2/9/2017.
Episode 11:
Man running through the woods. Tries to call someone. get out of there. Go now! Someone shoots at him and hits a tree. It's Dean, hunting. You people never learn, do you. Always trying to run. The witch blasts Dean with a purple spell.
Wakes up in daylight. A bunny next to him. He picks up the bunny and sets it aside. Arkansas. Get's to his feet. Phone is broken. People walking by. A woman hands him money. Don't buy a drink. Dean stops a man to ask to use his phone. Man gives it to him. Calls Sam. Where the hell have you been? Not sure about that. Dean sees a waffle shop. Meet me at Waldo's, okay?
Dean pigging out on sweet waffles. Sam arrives. Dean had left to get food. Doesn't know what happened. Has a hangover. Doesn't know how his phone broke. Sam will text Mom and Cas. Devil baby mama drama. LOL. Sam says you're not 20 anymore. Dean says I can still kick your ass. Sam says the morgue opens in 10 minutes. Our case? Dean remembers an accountant. But there was nothing at the guy's place yesterday. young gals at a table keep looking over to them. One girl approaches. Who are you? She slaps Dean. Yep, epic night.
Morgue. Sam and Dean look at the body and evidence box. Suffocation is the official cause of death. Dean's queasy at the stomach contents. Sam finds a hex bag. Dean sighs. Witch made him die choking on cash. Mo money, mo problems. Sam says I hope you're still drunk.
Dean keeps losing words. They go to the Impala. And Dean stares at the keys. Sam says it's the square one. Dean puts the car in the wrong gear. R for reverse, Dean! Get it together, alright? Dean's spacing. Who's Dean?
Dean insists I'm fine. Sam says you forgot your own name. Maybe you got hexed. Dean says I'd be dead, not Dory. Not going to apologize for loving that fish. Sam challenges him to name all the members of Bon Jovi. Dean can't. He knows a gun and a coat, but not a lamp. Sam labels it with a post-It! LOL.
Rowena playing cards. She changed her cars after her opponent showed his. Phone rings. Sam. We need your help. Dean finds vodka in the mini-fridge. Rowena asks if his body hair fell out. Sam asks how he can break a memory spell. Kill the witch. And Dean has wandered off. Sam looks for him. Dean getting ice, but at the wrong room. Sam tells him what he learned. Asks Dean what's the last you did? Got some ice. LOL.
Dean and Sam at Barry Gilman's office. Dean steals a cigar. Sam asks him to look at photos on the wall. Nope. Sam asks what happened next? You went out for a burger. They leave.
3rd place. Dean spots the girl from the waffle place. She doesn't want to see him. Sam says my partner may have been roofied. If you can tell us anything about the night, it'd be a big help. Dean ordered burgers, 4 shots of tequila, and rode the bull. She says he was amazing. Sam eye rolls. She says we got to talking and you know, blew off some steam. Bartender saw him run off. She apologizes if she took advantage of him. Sam asks for security footage. They see Dean outside. Dean trying to read his lips. Can't. Dean doesn't remember any of this. The witch was in a picture from the office. They go outside to look around. Sam finds the empty shell from Dean's bullet. Dean says there are witches? Sam says witches, vampires, werewolves are all real, and we kill them. Dean says awesome, that's awesome. They head into the woods.
So genies don't grant wishes and sirens aren't all hot? heh. Sam spots more blood on the tree. Dean likes that their best friend is an angel. Then they spot glyphs on another tree. Sam photographs them. Dean finds a dead body. The witch. Sam! Is that a dead guy? Yeah, our witch. Cool! Sam says if he's already dead, then why aren't you you? Not cool. What now? Sam says now we get out of here. Witch's eyes open when they leave.
***WHAAAAAAAT?????
2 people find the dead body. Poor Gideon. Man says this is why he told us to leave the accountant alone. She says he stole from us. Doesn't care what Gideon said. She wants her family back.
Dean says I've never seen a dead guy before. Knock on the door. Dean opens it. Who are you? rowena walks in. Sam didn't want a house call. Dean likes her hair. LOL. Do we have to fix him? Samuel, the glyphs you found is Celtic. The language of trees. Sam sits Dean down with TV. Stay there. Rowena says there's only one family versed in this magic. Thought them all dead. She recognizes Gideon.
Gideon, Boyd, and Katrina are the descendants. Witches came from around the world to study their book. For a price. Hunters happened. Dean is watching Scooby Doo. She says we need to find that book. Breaking it herself would take more time than Dean has. The spell will kill him.
Sam and Dean talk in the bathroom. Dean says I can feel it, slipping out of my head. Sam says we're gonna fix it. Leaves the bathroom. Rowena asks how is he? Sam says like you care? I've seen my brother die, but watching him become not him might actually be worse.
Dean washes his face. Talks himself in the mirror. Repeating the basics about himself.
Rowena says we need to find that grimoire. Sam says that's why you're here. The book.
Dean says my name is Dean Winchester and struggles to remember the rest. My name is......My name......is......
Rowena wants to go with Sam. Sam says you're staying with Dean. She says the book is written in ancient Druid. You just killed their brother, they'd sooner use your skin as an outfit. Sam holds up a pistol. They can try.
Dean doesn't know his name.
Dean keeps touching things. Rowena gives him a doll to play with. I'll tell you a story. Okay. He pokes the voodoo doll with pins. She tells a story about the British Men of Letters banishing her. She took refuge with witches. She tells Dean he's a killer. But everything you've done, you've done for the greater good. He says that's makes it okay? She doesn't know. Me? I've done horrible things. Told myself it was fine, it was the price of power. Then I met God and his sister, and if they can't be happy or at least satisfied, how can there be hope for me? He asks why are you telling me this? Because you won't remember. Sam calls.
He's in the house. Finds the blonde woman. This gun is full of witch killing bullets. Go to your grimoire and tell me how to break the memory spell. She says I told him you would come. You're hunters. Sam is thrown into the wall by the male witch. She casts a spell and Sam screams at the pain in his ears.
Dean and Rowena can hear it all over the phone.
Dean wakes in the back of the car. Note taped. Rowena says your brother has been kidnapped by a witch. found your stupid car and brought you here. Another note says stay. LOL.
The siblings squabbling. Sam tied up. She says we can bring our brother back. Gives him a knife. Do it please, for me. She goes to take care of a noise.
Rowena downstairs. insults Katrina. Rowena Macleod.
Witch cuts his palm. Sam pleads with him. Witch says swapping your soul for his? I'm afraid I do.
Katrina calls Rowena Raggedy Ann. you thought you were worthy of our magic. And how you begged, threw yourself down and offered yourself to each of us. Boyd almost took you up on it. Rowena blasts Katrina into the wall.
Dean opens the trunk. Witch killing bullets. This gun.
Katrina stands up singing about Raggedy Ann. She and Rowena have been striking at each other. Both bloody. Rowena stuck. Dean walks in. Shoots Katrina.
Sam attacks the brother. Witch runs. Dean takes aim and doesn't know who Sam is. No, no, brother - witch! Dean shoots the witch. Then grins. He's proud of himself. LOL.
Purple glowing. rowena comes downstairs. Sam asks is it done? Dean trolls him. He's back. Sam says not funny.
Motel. Rowena tells Dean if he remembers any conversations while he was hexed, let me know? Dean says it's a blank. Sam makes her give the book up. We owe you a small one. She leaves. Sam asks Dean how he's holding up. Dean says it kicked my ass. Sam was jealous at first. You looked happy. Dean says it was nice to drop the baggage, but everything was lost. All of it. So if that's happy, I think I'll pass. Get in the car. Dean knows how to drive again.
Dean rides the bull while music plays. Montage of his time without his memories. He stayed on the bull a long time. LOL. His face riding the bull.
Next ep - Will the CW show a preview this time?!?! Nope.
