"Collision Course"
OTA VS. NTA — Oliver (Stephen Amell), Diggle (David Ramsey), and Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) disagree with Dinah (Juliana Harkavy), Curtis (Echo Kellum), and Rene (Rick Gonzalez) on how to handle Black Siren (Katie Cassidy). The two teams face off and a fight ensues. Ken Shane directed the episode written by Oscar Balderrama & Rebecca Bellotto (#614). Original airdate 3/1/2018.
Episode 14:
Police station. Oliver given the file. He's told an inmate killed Cayden. Bad timing. Bad luck. That's all. If a head has to role, make it mine. Oliver says that's not how I run things. Keep doing what you're doing.
Angry meeting. They want the money back that Cayden stole. Without an influx of cash, everything will shut down. Oliver promises 48 hours. You have my word. All of you have my word.
Thea asks how? He says the accountant is coming back as we speak. Find Cayden's associates before Dinah does. She's on the warpath. Accountant is here. Quentin leaves. Let's the guy in. Dinah arrives. Making sure evidence doesn't walk away. We've got a problem. Cayden's Corto Maltese account is empty. Before we got access. Requested the withdrawal log but it's a long shot. Oliver tells him we have to have the money in 48 hours. The accountant is very sorry.
Felicity and William making cookies. Budget closed the school. Oliver asks to talk to her. She asks what's going on? He tells her about the money. Expedite it. She suggests a coincidence that's not. Cayden dead, the money missing....could be same person that framed you.
New Team. No leads. Diggle was at the same dead end. Curtis brings up the Laurel situation. He doesn't feel good about revenge. She's gotta go. There's a lead on the missing money. Curtis asks Rene what to do with Dinah.
Bank sent the log and footage. A woman took out the entire amount in bearer bonds. Oliver thanks the accountant. Dinah says Felicity had something to do with this? Yes. Oliver doesn't trust Dinah to do the right thing. Not kill Laurel. I understand you're hurting. And I don't have credibility about asking people to not commit murder. Dinah says when you look at Laurel, you see the one you lost, and that's why you can't do what needs to be done. He won't let her cross that line. She says if you make that threat, be damn sure you can deliver.
Quentin tending to Laurel. You're some place no one can find you.
Footage showed a brunette Laurel there. But it can't be her because Quentin has her. He lies about her. Something I should tell you. Laurel started following me. I caught up with her. Tried to make a connection. Thea says can we be sure that worked? Oliver found the photo of the Lances in the go bag. Quentin says he'll make sure she meets with him alone. Take the long shot. Tells Thea your time is better spent at the office. Heh.
New team. Curtis brought a spectograph to replicate Laurel's position that night. She was dragged. Wasn't putting up a fight. Now we have to find her before the others. Dinah says Oliver is desperate to get that money. The only way to get justice for the city is going to be messy. Rene spots tire tracks.
Quentin gives her something from a noodle shop his girls loved. She's not into the rehab. He says you let me go. Instead of killing me. You hestitated killing Vincent Sobel. You've done some pretty unspeakable things. Ever asked yourself why? You grew up without a father. Spent your life looking for one. All those men are gone now, including Cayden James killed last night. You don't need anyone else telling you what to do with your life. You're welcome to leave any time. But I guess it's been a long time since you've had a chance to decide what your life will be. I have my hopes. But you have to change. She says I like hot and sour soup. Will you tell me about your Laurel?
Thea looks in the window of the cabin.
The scene. Team investigates. Felicity says someone took her. Shoe print.
New Team power goes out. Then on. Oliver confronts them about having Black Siren. They say they don't. Oliver doesn't believe it. If she dies, that money is lost forever. Felicity says if Laurel's here, she's not warm. Oliver poking wounds. Dinah says it's too bad Rene doesn't look like Laurel. You'd already forgive him for murder. Rene says I think Oliver wants to fight. That's how he solves his problems. That makes you a thug. He'll be so betrayed. William. They attack the New Team. Diggle and Felicity say let's go. Dinah promises to find her and when we do you better hope to God you're not there to!
Curtis and Dinah and Rene. Borrowed a piece of tech. He planted an audio chip on Oliver. What they know, so will we. Karma, bitch.
Felicity says we have nothing. Nada. Zilch. Diggle says we have 3 teammates that hate us more than before. Oliver says we don't need another group looking for Laurel. We'll find her. We have to.
Thea confronts Quentin. He says she's sleeping. Please. She says I thought we were in this together. He says I think I'm getting through to her but you have to go. She says okay, but find the money. The city is dying without that money. He'll ask, but not force her. She wants to call Oliver. He says Oliver is not known for a light touch. Laurel says that's sweet, Daddy, but you should call your BFF.
Thea does. Tells Oliver that Quentin's been taking care of her in a cabin. Laurel will tell everything after you help me get out of this country. I need help getting past that nasty little songbird friend of yours. Fine.
New Team heard it all. And agree that Laurel can't be trusted. Let's suit up.
In the van. Diggle tells Felicity to keep her seatbelt on. We have a tail. Loses it with a truck blocking them. She pulls the bug off Oliver. Dig tosses it out the window.
Dinah stomps on it.
Cabin. Team arrives. Hello, Ollie. She says no money until I'm safely out of this country. Quentin plays mediator. Let me go with her. We can start your new life together. She says with it about the money, hard pass. He disagrees. This was about getting through to you. You can choose to not be a criminal. And if you don't want me there, I'll leave. Promise. She says pack your sunblock. Oliver says she'll kill you. Quentin trusts her. Oliver says then so do I.
New team. Dinah's raging. Curtis says we'll find them. I know a way. But it's going to hurt John. Really hurt John physically. Dinah says whatever it takes.
3.5 hours. Cover identities almost done. Laurel says just keep that vengeful bird from me. John collapses. Felicity reboots the chip. How long? She says not much. Quentin can't protect Laurel by himself. Thea says this is insane.
Rene makes a Mr. T joke lol. Here's the turn. Dinah says Laurel is a meta. If any of us hold back, we'll get hurt, and she and the city's money will be gone. Understood?
Diggle didn't think Dinah would go this far. Oliver says if the people going after us didn't look like them, would you be asking if we should do this? No. But we can say we might not be going through this is she didn't look like Laurel. Dig says if we fight our own team, that's a line we can't uncross.
Quentin says the money will be back within 2 hours. Laurel thanks Oliver for fighting for her. He's not doing it for her. When this is over, I don't want to see your face or hear from you again. New Team arrives. And the arguing starts. Then dinah says it's time to finish this right now! Oliver says not one more step.
Fight starts. They do what they can to get time for Quentin and Laurel and Thea in the car. Felicity gets in the way of Rene shooting.
Laurel falls. Dinah catches up. Quentin tries to appeal to her. Please no. She hits him. Twice.
Oliver against Curtis. Then Rene. Last chance, stay down! Rene will not. Oliver takes him down. Felicity and Thea get John up.
Dinah hits Laurel with her staff. Grabs her head. This what it felt like before you killed Vince? Laurel says she's sorry. Curtis says we lose her, we lose the money. But even if we had the money, you can't do this. Dinah has to get justice for Vince. Curtis says look around. Does this look like justice? You sound like Oliver. We formed this team so we wouldn't be like them. Dinah, I don't want to start. Dinah stops. Laurel won't go back in the cage. She runs. Oliver collars Dinah. No more advantages. Rebe wanders up and collapses. Curtis says we have to get him to a hospital NOW!
Bunker. Any sign of Laurel? Trail gone cold. But she can't get far with her injuries. Felicity pissed with Curtis. Thea and Quentin here, too. Rene's shot wound reopened. Quentin wants to check on him. He thinks Laurel will call. Oliver says she won't. She's not like the Laurel we lost. Thea says we need to call the press. Oliver says tell Rene I'm sorry. Quentin thinks he screwed up. Thea says no. And she is your daughter. In the eyes of her father.
Dinah and Curtis. Any update? Coffee and waiting. Working on Rene for hours. But he's the definition of stubbornness. No way he'll let Oliver be the reason he goes down. Curtis says we'll track down Laurel and arrest her. Get justice for Vince. Dinah thanks him. Violence it's justice. I'm grateful to you for pulling me back. He says it worked because I have faith in you.
City Hall. Oliver about to meet with the city reps. I made a vow to protect the city and I couldn't. I swear I'll make it up to them... Thea says tell them that. He enters and they all talk at once. He tells the room that the money has not been recovered and I don't know if it will be. I'm so very sorry. As mayor I have failed this city. My faith in the citizens of Star City...
Detectives. He found something to bury Queen. But needs more resources from the Chief. She can see why Diaz likes him.
Doctor tells them that Rene's lung recollapsed. He needs to move to a facility out of the city where he can get the care he needs. Curtis tells Felicity and Diggle we're done. No more communication again ever.
Van. Driver lost? Laurel stumbles up in the rain. He asks if she's okay? She's bleeding. He asks her name. Laurel. Laurel Lance.
Next week - Roy's back. Thea suits up to save him.
