“Bring ‘Em Back Alive"
DANNEEL ACKLES AND RICHARD SPEIGHT JR. RETURN – Lucifer (Mark Pellegrino) rules over heaven but things aren’t going exactly as planned, exasperating his first lady, Jo (guest star Danneel Ackles). Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Castiel (Misha Collins) are perplexed by the return of Gabriel (guest star Richard Speight Jr.). Meanwhile, Dean (Jensen Ackles) gets one step closer to finding Mary and Jack. Amyn Kenderali directed the episode written by Brad Buckner & Eugenie Ross-Leming (#1318). Original airdate 4/12/2018.
Episode 18:
Snow. They land through the rift. Ketch says here we are. You do know where we are, don't you? We've only got 24 hours until-- Dean says we just got spin cycled through space and time. And what's this we crap? Ketch wants to help find the boy and Mary. I owe her that. Dean says she'll probably kill you. Again. Ketch says would having a little back-up really be so bad?
Soldiers coming. People on the bridge in chains and hoods over their heads. Humans will be executed for high crimes against Michael. Dean wants to attack. Ketch says not smart. 2 are killed. Charlie is the last! Angel knows her. You're not the usual human scum. You're in the Resistance inner circle. Michael will want her for interrogation. She says when the Resistance crushes you, I'll be there to grind your feathers into dust.
Sam updates Cas. Cas is not happy. Sam says we need to take care of Gabriel and get him right again. He's cowered in a corner in the dark. Sam turned the light on. He flinches when Sam tries to touch him. They get him on the bed. Sam asks if he remembers Sam? Remeber the video you sent us after you died. Told us how to stuff Lucifer in the cage. Sam brought grace. Maybe if he's juiced up, it'll help. Cas says I don't think he'll open up and let the choo-choo in. Coercion will be necessary. Gabriel runs to a corner.
Jo's been out. Lucifer wants her to stay at his side. Play strip poker. She says he should be out doing inspiring stuff. We came here to help the angels. Angel enters. Lucifer says don't you think Jo should use enthusiasm for being First Lady? Couples' issues are not my area. Angels scanning for Jack. So far, nothing. We don't have the man power. Lucifer says he's a priority. Of course. She leaves. Lucifer says they'd never treat my old man that way. Jo says He created. You inherited. Before we treat you like God, try acting like God. Just a thought.
Asmodeus is unhappy. He can't find Ketch or Gabriel.
Dean and Ketch. Dean asks what's the hold up? Ketch being stealthy. You prefer the bull in a china shop technique. Dean wants to save Charlie. Ketch asks if it's personal? Dean says we're running out of time. Charges ahead. Man shoots Dean!
Dean tries crawling away. Ketch tackles the man. They fight over a knife. Dean fires a gun. Asks where were you going to take me? Dean shoots again. Where? Man says the silo camp, 4-5 hours away. Follow the road. Thanks. He knocks him out.
Cas finds writing all over the wall of Gabriel's room. His story. Starts with his death. Lucifer thought he stabbed the real thing. It was a fake. Everyone believed Gabriel was gone and he was free. He moved to Monte Carlo and shacked up with porn stars. Sam asks him to skip forward. Asmodeus captured Gabriel and fed on his grace. So his intellect is intact. Why isn't he talking to us? Maybe he can't. Sam says maybe he's choosing not to, maybe it's safer that way.
Lucifer dresses in a suit to be the new God and listens to prayers. Losers. Whining. How did Pop put up with them as long as He did?
Priests doing an exorcism. It talks back to Father Davis. Lucifer arrives. First, chill. Anthony, what are you doing, man? Just having a little fun. He makes the demon leave. And don't come back! You're welcome. Who are you? I'm Lucifer. No..... Yeah. Lucifer is the Beast, scourge of mankind! Lucifer hands it to Pop on marketing. They ramble. Calm down. Relax. Luci snaps his fingers and they disappear.
Ketch going through the man's stuff. Finds angel killing bullets. Dean collapses from the wound after insisting he's fine. Who is this Charlie to you, an old girlfriend? Ketch reveals it and it's some kind of black infection. How's it look, Mom?
Cas says I can't heal an archangel. Just trying to jolt his mind into thinking straight. But it's possible he's lost.
Ketch putting together a cure. Dean has shortness of breath and delirium. A poison used by MoL to disable monsters. If the antidote isn't administered, then the victim dies a gruesome death. This will smart. He puts it on the wound. Good lad, good lad.....
Sam tells Gabriel to dig out of this hole. I know you think it's safer inside. I've been there. Like you, I got out. Or I thought I got out. Then my family needed me and this is my life. this is what I was put here to go. Make the world a better place. Hookers sound great. But your family needs you. Jack, your nephew needs you. I need you. So please... Gabriel says Porn stars. They were porn stars, Sam. His eyes glow.
Asmodeus feels Gabriel.
Dean stumbling along. Ketch tells him you must rest. Dean says we're running out of time. So you rest and I'll keep going. He falls down. 5 minutes! Ketch asks about Charlie again. Dean says not going to happen. Ketch says we're running out of time. A rescue might be impossible and stupid. Return home, regroup, and we may have a shot at saving everyone. Dean says Charlie won't give the angels what they want. They'll kill her. And I'm not... What? What story aren't you telling me? Dean says Charlie was like family, like a sister for me. She did more for me and Sam than I can say, and she was butchered. We couldn't get there in time. I failed her.
Flash back to Charlie in the tub, dead.
Ketch understands. Dean asks what story are you not telling me? Ketch says many failures. Friends and colleagues died on my watch, but I didn't try to save them. Duty and all that rubbish. Dean says well you dudes suck. Ketch says what the hell? Perhaps rescuing this Charlie will wash some of the stain off my hands. Dean says impossible and stupid - you say that like it's a bad thing. LOL.
Charlie is asked the location and number of Resistance bases. She says bite me. Bite me! Angel hits her. This is pointless. She dies.
Gabriel takes his grace. Is it helping? I don't know. Sam's phone. Asmodeus calls. You have something that belongs to me and I'd like it back. You get one chance to return it, no harm, no foul. Do not hang up on me! If I take him by force, I'll reduce you and that bunker to ashes. You have 10 minutes.
Lucifer ranting. Nothing in this universe is worth my time. Jo says you're giving up. He says no. I'm going to refocus. I'll devote myself to Jack. We'll combine our powers and people will worship me. Me! Jo says instead of belly aching, make Heaven right. Give angels their wings back. He says I can't do that. I lied. She says it's not the humans. the angels. your father's propaganda. It's you. You're afraid of looking in Jack's eyes and seeing nothing but contempt. You might as well go back to the cage. He chokes her. But doesn't kill her. She says and now you don't have me. She storms out.
Dean and Ketch finally get to the farm with the silo. Angels have humans lined up. The Resistance will be broken. One by one your leaders are being destroyed. Soon there will be none of you left. Charlie will be executed. About to chop her head off. Dean tosses a grenade. They go in firing at angels. Dean gets to Charlie. Go now!
Gabriel rocking. Sam warded the bunker. Power goes out. Alarm sounding. Wards glowing. Cas and Sam check the halls. Demons attacks them. Sam uses the demon knife. Cas rescues Sam. Then they get tossed. Asmodeus says your warding wasn't designed for the likes of me, Samuel. I've come to claim what's mine. Demons dragged Gabriel in. Asmodeus will punish him. He attacks Sam and Cas. Gabriel's eyes glow and he fights back. Asmodeus says I broke you! You're too weak! Gabriel cleans himself up and his wings show. Not anymore. By the way. I always hated that dumb ass suit. He burns Asmodeus up.
Charlie recaps. She asks Dean how close he was with the other Charlie. He says she was into chicks. He asks about Jack and his mom. She says last I heard, they were by Dayton Ohio. They made it back to the rift. Wow.
Gabriel says slow down. I'm not processing. Cas says Michael wants to come to this earth and we need your help to fight him. Sam says welcome to the team. Gabriel says no. I'm not a team guy. I'm going to bounce. This has been... What's the opposite of fun? That. Sam appeals. Gabriel says last time the world was ending, I put my money on you. You can do it again. Cas says you can't turn your back on your Father's creation. Gabriel says my Father turned His back on His creation. Guess it runs in the family.
Dean has to go. Ketch says go through. Bring back whatever help you can get. We need to know what Michael's up to and where your mother and Jack are. Charlie is staying home. This is my fight. Dean doesn't want to lose her again. Charlie says that's not your call. Ketch points out it's closing. Angels coming. Go! Dean jumps through.
The rift closes. Where's Mom? Where's Jack? Dean updates Sam. There's a Charlie there, she kicks ass. So what'd I miss? Asmodeus. And Gabriel killed him. Where is he? He just left. What do you mean, left? Cas says We asked Gabriel to help us and he said no. Dean says he doesn't get to say no. But we have his grace, right? Sam? Sam says we used his grace to heal him. It's gone, all gone. Dean is pissed. If we can't open the door again, I should've never come back! SON OF A BITCH! Sam and Cas flinch at his outburst. Every time. Every time we get close, it falls apart. Every time. Cas says we will find Gabriel. We will. Dean says we better.
Next ep - Reaper chick. Death asked her to keep an eye on them.
