SENDING OUT AN SOS - Sam (Jared Padalecki), Dean (Jensen Ackles), and Castiel (Misha Collins) call on Rowena (Guest Star Ruth Connell) to help keep the evil souls at bay and get an unexpected assist from Ketch (Guest Star David Haydn-Jones). Episode 2:
Road Closed. Harlan, Kansas. Woman on the street in the dark. She drops her keys. There's a man in the shadows coming to her. Oh, Rob. You didn't evacuate. She thinks the benzene link is phony. She snuck back to get her daughter's allergy meds. Do you think they'll cancel the spelling bee? Rob? He stabs her over and over again! Then a ghost gets out of him. And spells Disemboweled.
The high school. Cas says a man said his wife has gone missing. Sam tells a guy to tell the hunters to keep a look out. He gets the room's attention. We expect to have you back in your homes shortly. EPA techs will be here tomorrrow. In the meantime, it's essential you stay out of the quarantine zone until it's safe. Any questions?
Dean with the EMF meter and Belphagor. Can't believe I've teamed up with a demon again. Think I'd know better by now. Belphagor likes Hell how it was. I'm a good soldier. Warding is holding for now. Bel says these aren't your run of the mill ghosts. More dangerous. That guy you shot is Jack the Ripper.
Town is getting restless. There's something going on and it ain't the benzene. Nan went out and never came back. We're going to go in and find her. We'll find a way.
Ghosts gathered in a house. Jack the Ripper tells them to shut up. You're wondering what's going on. I have answers. We were liberated at the hands of God Himself. Hunters said so. I was just shot with rock salt. I had a personal encounter with Belphagor. Our strength is in numbers. We will find our way out of here. Until we find a way, we make it as ugly as possible for those who stand guard.
Townies sneak into a neighborhood. Hear gunfire. Then 2 ghosts confront them.
Cas wants to tell the families something. We found the man's wife's body. Sam disagrees. Rowena arrives. Can you boys do nothing on your own? Sam brings up Amara. Cas says you made a bomb. Sam says the bomb was powered by souls. Trap them in a crystal. She says no. Hunter tells Sam there's a situation.
Dean and Belphagor. Sam tells the townies to go back to the school. Their eyes leak black goo. Dean says they're possessed. Jack the Ripper tells them to open the door now. The ghosts are torturing the townies. Ripper says the warding! Now! Ketch shoots the possessed! Ripper disappears. Ketch says Hello, lads.
**The looks on the boys' faces LOL. How did you not notice Ketch on a wide open residential street?
Sam asks Ketch how he's here. Ketch says he was in the area. He brought a gun that takes out the ghost without harming the possessed person. Rowena and Ketch.....flirting? Sam says it's all hands on deck. Belphagor says the streets are quiet. They tell Ketch that Jack is dead, killed by God. Belphagor introduces himself. Ketch says this is awkward. As a freelancer, he was asked to assassinate Belphagor. Sam asks who told Ketch? Ketch says an attractive female demon. She doesn't like Bel.
Woman getting a message. Hands change. Chuck visits Amara! She says we agreed to give each other space. He wanted to check in. Brings up the Game of Thrones ending. She asks why are you here?
Man confronts Cas about the missing.
Dean and Rowena. She needs ingredients. Asks about Ketch. Dean tells her to find another boy toy. You don't want to get involved with Ketch. Heh.
Cas comes to Dean. I dropped the puck. It's ball. Right. I didn't tell you about Jack and then after what happened with your mother... Dean says don't. I'm angry at all of it. This mess, all the messes. We're hamsters in a wheel all our lives. God's been lying to you since forever. Cas is angry. But it was not all a lie. Chuck is all-knowing. He just kept the truth to himself. Even if we didn't know, how would we describe it all? We call it life, because that's what it is. We ran the obstacle course and mostly we did well with that. Dean says nothing about our lives is real. Everything we lost, everything we are is because of Chuck. Maybe you can stick your head in the sand. I can't. Cas says you asked what is real? We are.
Dean and Ketch. You want to wear this. Chain. Iron. Put it on. Ketch says the enemy is actually God? Dean says go figure. Ketch says God was always more rumor than fact. So, tell me about the witch. LOL. Dean gets a note. Trouble. 2 hunters haven't checked in.
Searching a place. Meat packing co. That's not good. Dean calls for the hunters. Then Ketch flies into a wall. Then Dean is attacked. Ghost woman with an ax. Another ghost tells her to stop and get out now. Kevin!!!!
Kevin just got here. Meets Ketch. Dean says you're supposed to be in Heaven. Chuck said. Ketch asks why he lied? Dean says God is a dick. We'll get you to Heaven after we shove these ghosts down. Kevin says the warding is fading. Dean says the ghosts know we have history? Kevin says I yell at them all the time. Got kind of a bad boy rap.
Chuck wants a burger. Called room service an hour ago. Amara is doing yoga. Chuck wants to spend time with her. A family project. She says I'm fine. She likes Reno. Interesting.......what is it......? You need me! You've never needed me. What is going on? Oh....there it is. Your shoulder. Something happened. You're not complete. You're not at full strength....and you're afraid.
Sam says it's great having Kevin around, but is this safe? Dean says no. Belphagor comes to the boys. He thought they would wrap this up by now. Warding is a one-time thing. They're going to send Kevin. Belphagor says once a soul is in Hell, it can't get into Heaven. God made an exception for their dad and Bobby.
Chuck touches the wound and Sam feels the touch, too.
Ghosts discuss the warding. Ripper wants to use their collective strength and break through now. Ghost woman says the hunters will work overtime to send us back. Kevin appears to them. Ripper was never impressed by him. You were quite closely connected to the Winchesters. All hell spawn talk about.
Rowena with her chemistry set. And Ketch. Right brain and left brain coupling. Ketch suggests a shortcut to her alchemy. One we used in the British Men of Letters. Cables. He shocks it. I think you'll find you can skip the next two steps. The power of science. She wants to marry science and magic. It'll be highly explosive. Phone rings. Yes, Dean, what?! Aye, it's almost there. But you can't rush these things. Fine, Fine. She hangs up. Ketch leaves.
Rowena comes out to the street. Ripper greets her. She knows Francis. Let me pass. He asks what's in the bag, Red? You're working with the hunters now? How sad. Tell the Winchesters we have their boy and we want to talk. Ketch gets his attention and tells her to run. Shoots Francis. Then Francis reappears behind Ketch and knocks him out. Rowena's down the street with her bag.
She reaches the boys. They have your boy. Dean asks if she brought the soul catcher. He likes the term.
They enter the house with the ghosts. Francis says shut down the warding and I won't devour Kevin whole. He's sucking Kevin's energy. Rowena runs in and uses the crystal. Kevin thanks her. I think my badass days in Hell are over. A lot of ghosts got away. Kevin tells them the ghosts will mass at the weakest point and break out. Where?
Belphagor and Dean and Sam and Rowena there. Ketch arrives. But he's not wearing the iron chain. Dean shoots at ghosts. Bel says there's too many of them. Rowena time. She starts sucking souls into the crystal. Then Ketch hits her. He's possessed! Dean's empty. Francis in Ketch thanks Rowena for the crystal bomb. He'll blow open the warding. Someone shoots Ketch. Francis comes out of him. Rowena gets the crystal back and sucks the ghosts in. Ketch is still down.
**Shouldn't Cas have the teleporting power of an angel still? It would come in handy repeatedly.
Ketch couldn't be healed by Cas. Dean apologizes for the iron bullet. Paramedics take Ketch away. He and Rowena share a look. Then she and Dean.
Dean and Sam with Kevin. Kevin wants to leave. He heard what Belphagor says. Sam says being a ghost with nothing to hold you anywhere is a terrible way to exist. Kevin will risk going crazy on Earth. I won't go back to Hell. Maybe....maybe he can make the warding dip to let me out. Sam is sorry. Kevin says we sometimes have to accept that. Bel is getting impatient. Dean says Take care, Kev. Kevin says love you guys. Bel makes a door. Kevin nears it, waves, and leaves. Disappears on the other side.
Amara is going alone. Chuck says we've been through this. She's willing to coexist, just not anywhere near you. Chuck says I front the group, you sing backup. She says don't. Even on your best day, you can't force my hand. You can't do anything. You can't leave this world without me. I'm done, Chuck. I've changed, adapted, become a better me. You're still the same. So, I'm leaving you here. Once, long ago, you sealed me away. Now, in a way, I'm doing the same to you. You're trapped, dimnished, abandoned. You got what you always wanted. You're on your own.
Cas and Rowena looking at something. What's going on? Dean asks. Ghosts coming. More all the time. Bel's warding will fail. Rowena's crystal won't absorb all this. We have to find another way. Before it's too late. Then that's what we'll do. How?
Next ep - We're all going to die. Dean won't give up. Rowena can't do this all by herself, Sam. Will you let the world die so I can live?
