BLACK LIGHTNING JOINS THE ARROWVERSE IN THE THIRD CHAPTER OF THE CROSSOVER
Pariah (The Flash‘s Tom Cavanagh) enlists Black Lightning (guest star Cress Williams) to help stop the Anti-Monitor (guest star LaMonica Garrett) after Flash-90 (guest star John Wesley Shipp) shares what he learned from his battle in “Elseworlds.” With the help of Black Lightning, Barry, Cisco, and Killer Frost come up with a plan that could save them all. Meanwhile, Iris has a heart-to-heart with Ryan Choi (Legends of Tomorrow newcomer Osric Chau), while Oliver and Diggle return to an old, familiar stomping ground.
The Flash episode 9:
What happened on Black Lightning last night.
Running in the rain. The Birds of Prey! Huntress, Barbara, Alfred. The wave hits. this Earth dies.
Earth 1 Waverider orbit. Monitor says we only have 4 paragons. Flash Team arrives. Ralph meeting a lot. It's his first crossover lol. J'onn says Earth 38 people are still accounted for. They all need to move to Earth 1. It's the last to die. Ray and Cisco fixed the paragon finder. it's buffering. J'onn is Honor. Barry is Love. Ryan Choi at Ivy Town is the last. Monitor says we need to stop the wave.
Diggle arrives. Chews out Sara for letting this happen. She says we need to go to Purgatory. And Lyla is missing. Diggle says she teleports. Monitor says there are infinite possibilities of her location. Dig is not losing Oliver and his wife, so cut the crap! Monitor says she could be with the Anti-Monitor.
He tested them to bring them to this. It's what it takes to defeat our opponent. AM wants to make a new universe he can control. Monitor can only attempt to save what remains. Kate still has the Kryptonite, worried Kara will go wrong with the Book of Destiny.
Dig is off to Purgatory.
Cisco found the source of the antimatter wave. Meet me in 5. Confronted in the hall. Monitor says Vibe must live again. Answer the call whether you wish to or not. He changes Cisco into Vibe. Serve your higher purpose.
Iris asks Barry if he wants her to go. He says find Ryan Choi and hurry back. They kiss.
Earth 1 Central City. Vibe and Frost. Barry is checking the perimeter. They go to Nash's work site. Pariah is there to let them into the chamber. He's here to bear witness to tragedy.
What happened? Nash searched to kill Mar Vu. Then he ended up controlled by a false god. The Anti-Monitor forces him to bear witness. He can't open the door. But Vibe can vibe Nash's memories of how. Cisco does so. What did you see? The way in.
Kara tells Lex that she thinks the book can bring back the destroyed Earths. Kate attacks him. Tells us how it works. He says the book takes immense focus to make it work. At the scale you're talking about, it could drive you mad.
Earth 666. John brings them to Lucifer! DC Netflix show. Johnny! It's a pleasure to see you on my Earth. Hello, don't believe we've met. Lucifer Morningstar. What is it you desire? Mia wants her father back. John says our Oliver Queen has shuffled off this mortal coil. Luci says he'll do it because of Maze. Says Dig reminds him of his brother. Heh. Gives John a card to get into Purgatory. When the ink fades, you're trapped. John uses the card.
They end up on Lian Yu. Why is Dad's soul here? John says souls choose their prisons. But his memories are missing. The card is fading. Have to work fast.
Barry says there's no quantum tower on Earth 1. Vibe says we can stop the antimatter wave at the source. He puts in the code. Crazy vibrational frequencies. Pariah says this room is the nexus between worlds. The antimatter canon. Frost thinks The blur is alive. Barry sees that it's Flash 90! There's a force field. Flash 90 is trapped on the treadmill.
Barry Allen from Earth 90? Monitor sent him to a nether verse where the Anti-Monitor found him. They destroyed Earth 2 as the test. Barry says we have to get The Flash off that treadmill. Vibe makes a portal and Barry get Barry off. 90 says you have to get me on it. It'll erupt and destroy all Earths at once. Pariah disappeared.
Earth 1 Ivy Town. Ryan Choi on the phone with his wife Amanda. Ray and Iris and Ralph arrive. Ralph shows he's Elongated Man. You're what's called a paragon. We need your help to save the universe. Choi says he needs to go home. I'm a husband. If this is the end, I need to be with my wife and kid.
Lois on the waverider. Another earth is gone. Only 7 left in the multiverse. No one will ever read the story. Monitor says my world died. my family. She asks what they were life. He says full of life. They were everything to me. If only I cared as much for them as I did for my work. Superman returns. Couldn't save them. Lois says take a breather. He put the crest on to keep fighting no matter what. She asks why he added black. He says in the darkest times, hope lifts us out of darkness. I must go back.
It's getting worse. Barry says we'll find another way. Black Lightning arrives! Pariah stops them from fighting. I brought you here to save lives. Educator, father, hero. Your Earth has just been destroyed by a wave of antimatter. I transported you here to save humanity. Jeff says you should've saved my family, not me! Not me! Barry appeals to him. They need him to contain the generator. He says let's find out.
Kara with the book. Kate says you don't know what will happen. Kara says those people need help. Kate says we do what we can. If you open that book, it'll destroy you. Kara has to open the book. Kate insists. Take a chance on that book and it doesn't work, we're all doomed. Kara walks away.
Tick tock, people! Frost says Black Lightning will die if we don't figure this out. Barry says we need more time. Every second the wave gets closer to wiping out my Earth and my wife. 90 was married once, too. As someone who's been running for 30 years, sometimes you have to take a couple steps back and see the bigger picture. Barry has an idea. This is what the Monitor meant. It's time for Flash to vanish in Crisis.
**With two Flashes here, only one has to go. I think we know who is the sacrifice since Earth 1 Barry has a show to continue.
Black Lightning still working. He's struggling.
Looking for Oliver in Purgatory. They get attacked. Oliver gets Constantine. John appeals to Oliver to remember. I can't lose you, man. I can't lose you. Oliver lets Constantine go. hey, John. They hug. Then he hugs Mia.
Choi in his office. Iris introduces herself. You're right to want to be with your family when things go bad. He says don't you want to die with your family when the world ends? She says he's different. He's a superhero that puts his life on the line every day. Choi had a baby 6 months ago. Iris says don't you want to hold her knowing you had a hand in making the world safer? He decides to tell his wife he'll be late to dinner. Ray says 6 earths are gone. Earth 1 is the only one left.
Barry says what if stopping the wave is the sacrifice I have to make. She wants to come with him. He says no. Her attributes are her superpower. That's what will convince Ryan Choi to help us. He says I promised to run home to you. I will always run home to you. They kiss. He says go find him and hurry back. She'll see him soon.
Caitlyn doesn't want to say goodbye. Barry couldn't be the hero he is without Cisco and Caitlyn. 90 steals Barry's speed. Learned a few tricks over the years. Monitor never said which Flash must die. Then he thanks Jeff for being a true hero. Tells Vibe to open the breach. Let me save you all. Barry says no. Cisco does it. 90 says keep riding the lightning, son. You'll make us all proud. Cisco stops Barry from interfering. And now they need to leave. 90 runs the treadmill backwards.
Flashback to the 90s Flash show. His wife. She has faith in him.
He disintegrates. The generator blows. The wave dissipates before reaching Earth 1. All that's left behind is the Flash logo from 90's suit.
Card is almost blank. Jim Corrigan arrives. But I'm also a Spectre. Glowing green eyes. I was a hero. Then I was called to a higher purpose. It's your turn, Oliver. Light the spark. it's your destiny. Or all you love will perish. Oliver tells Mia he has to. It's going to be okay. It's going to be okay. John. What now? Spectre's eyes glow.
John and John and Mia return to the Waverider. teams update each other.
Barry thanks Jefferson. I know what you've lost. Jeff lost his world, the love of his life, his daughters. Nothing will never be okay again. Barry knows. Flash 90 looked just like my dad, Henry Allen. He spent years in prison framed for killing my mom. He never lost his light. I try to do the same. Jeff says my father was a reporter that spent his life giving a voice to the voiceless. He was murdered when I was 12. I pass his lessons to my girls. My girls.... I get it. Look....I don't think Henry or Alvin raised any quitters, so we should honor their memory and rage against the light. Barry and Jeff shake hands.
Kara and Kate. Kate gets it. You have the biggest heart of anyone I've met. But I don't want to see you get hurt. Kara says it took a lot of guts to do what you did. Kate offers her the Kryptonite. Bruce lost hope. I never will. Kara says keep it. Have the courage you'll never have to use it.
Snart says Iris and all have returned. They meet Ryan. Jeff is surprised Superman is real. Team says we need to find Harbinger. Lyla appears! She tried to tells John she did recon on Earth 1. Barry asks where. She can't remember. John hugs her. Barry thinks Harbinger is controlled by the Anti-Monitor. He and Ralph tell Pariah you only show up to witness tragedies. She attacks John. AM's voice comes from her. It's time to end the Age of Heroes and everything you hold close.
**Nice noticing, Barry. Sometimes you're dumb, but not today. But you're out of time. AM possessing Harbinger cannot be good.
Monitor says that's no longer your wife, John Diggle. AM makes the heroes fall like they're under gravity. Monitor tells Pariah fate lies with you. Monitor and AM fighting with beams. He falls to his knees. Monitor says it was foolish to allow your creation in the first place. AM kills him.
The antimatter is coming back at Earth 1. It's gone! We're all that's left. The infinite Earths are gone. Seconds left. Pariah knows wat to do. The paragons disappear. Where did you send them? Somewhere you can't reach them. The remaining are disintegrated by the AM.
They land in the Vanishing Point. The AM can't follow. Then Superman is glowing red. Something's wrong. Please. Fix it. He dies! Consumed in energy. And in his place is LEX. I'm so happy that worked. He held the Book of Destiny and thought destiny could use a little rewrite. So......what do we do now?
Next ep - Jan. 14. Oliver tells Barry he's in the Speed Force. The 8 of us might not be enough.
