“Yup, It’s A Leprechaun, All Right”
IT’S YOUR LUCKY DAY — After the Salvatore School runs into some financial difficulties, Lizzie (Jenny Boyd) suggests they hold their first fundraiser. While Alaric (Matthew Davis) attempts to work things out with the bank, he puts Kaleb (Chris Lee) in charge of overseeing the events at the school. Elsewhere, Cleo (guest star Omono Okojie) helps Hope (Danielle Rose Russell) cope with her emotions, while MG (Quincy Fouse) seeks help from Alyssa (guest star Olivia Liang). Finally, when a leprechaun shows up at the school, it might just be what they need to turn their luck around. Kaylee Bryant and Ben Levin also star. Episode 7:
Ric says the changes are a sign of growth. We've never been more united. Hope says there's like nine of us here. ric says they have 30 students enrolled. Makes us officially a school in Virginia and a home and a sense of community. Lizzie up next. We miss the way things used to be, but it makes us closer. Less tuition has canceled the fun things. But she has a fundraiser month in mind. 4 weeks of car wash, bake sale, and we need 2 more ideas. Cleo says she and Hope can make art for an auction. Josie arrives. Something from Town Hall arrived. Property tax lien! 7 days to pay?! How much? $91,000 or the bank gets the school. Lizzie says we're doing all of the fundraising right now!
Cleo and Hope. She likes Hope's hairstyle. We are helping the school. Hope says I'm blocked, I have nothing. Hope painted the gates in front of the school. Cleo says it's soulless. Hope hasn't had inspiration since Landon died. Cleo's been blocked after a devastating loss before. She broke out of it with something drastic. She has an idea to help Hope.
Ric in a tie. Kaleb dressed up to help. Ric says you're a teenager. Kaleb wants to be reliable. Wants to use compulsion. Ric says it's unethical. Kaleb says banks don't play the rules to get theirs. But Ric's insistent.
$91,000 in property taxes in a few months? Doesn't make sense.
MG can't reach Alyssa. She put an illusion on the Ascendant and it's failing. Lizzie arrives. She won't take no for an answer. Gives him an apron. Your assignment for Fundraising Day. Don't miss assembly next time.
Kaleb has Jed washing his car. Lizzie's freaking out that no one has come to Fundraising Day. She's going to get a spell from her grimoire. Kaleb says your dad said no magic. We have to do it his way until he sees it fail. A rainbow appears! She swears she didn't make it.
Cleo wants Hope to give Landon life again with her art. Cleo says you can't move on from your grief if you're still holding onto it. Let me help. The goo is in a Mason jar. They pour it in a bucket and transform it into clay with magic. Sculpt a bust. Leprechaun spies through the window!
Kaleb catches him. Top o' the mornin' to ya. LOL.
Leprechaun takes Kaleb's cuff links and eats them. Belches. You nasty. Lizzie reads on him. They're attracted to wealth and their presence makes humans spend lavishly. Lizzie thinks this is a loophole. We have the luck of the Irish. Prove my dad wrong while following his stupid rules and save the school in the process.
Jed hears something. Wade does not. Cars. Voices. Lots of them. Auctioning paintings, selling baked goods, and washing cars. Moneys raining.
Josie runs into MG and he's doused in flour. Did Lizzie put you up to this? MG can't make cookies fast enough. This oven has no vamp speed! I can't be here all day. I have something to take care of. Josie will help him. But she needs to be at Mystic Falls High by lunch. For something.
Cleo calls the bust stunning. Hope hasn't sculpted before today. It's Landon. Hope sets it on fire to set the clay. Cleo says he's beautiful. Luctus, what does it mean? That it's time to let him go. A woman storms in. I'll take it! How much? Hope says it's not for sale. Cleo says it's $91,000. Done! The woman won't take no for an answer. Hope says you have to leave. She attacks. Hope puts her out.
Lizzie wants the smoothie bar back on. Kaleb wants Lizzie to tell Hope. Tell me what? Hope says a woman tried to shank me for not giving her my art. Cleo says and give us $91,000. Lizzie says I'm sure it was an isolated incident. Hope knows Lizzie's hiding something after she lets the money figure pass. Crowd goes unruly. Violent. Hope needs to know what's going on.
Brought to the leprechaun in the dungeon. It's a Malivore monster. Here. A portal to the prison world must be open. Which didn't occur to Lizzie until now.
**Alyssa putting an answering machine message on the magic mirror was quite funny.
Hope rants at Lizzie about keeping a Malivore monster from her. Lizzie says our school is in trouble!
Cleo asks Kaleb about Malivore. He gives the short version. He's locked in a prison world. Screaming stopped.
Kaleb stops Hope from swinging a weapon. Let's take a second to breathe. Hope is going to get answers from the Leprechaun, then kill it. Shut down Fundraising Day unless you want to tell people that's a Leprechaun screaming.
MG wondering what Josie is doing in the garden. Josie has a study date with her lab partner Finch. She is looking for a leavening accelerant herb. I think this is it. Or this one. The one we want tastes like cinnamon and nothing here is dangerous. Pick one. She ate a leaf that's minty. Truth weed!
Ric meets with Vera Lillian. Dana's mom. He's so sorry for her tragic and unexpected loss. Mountain lions are prevalent around here. She thinks Lizzie's rotten fruit doesn't fall far from his tree. He asks why she's working at the bank? Vera split from Dana's father recently.
Wade's holding the door. Crazy humans outside. Kaleb takes it. Lizzie wants to sell her old stuff before he compels them to leave. She wants it like her old home. Kaleb wants to make it even better than it was. Lizzie sobers and says open the door. My idea. My responsibility to shut it down.
Cleo says you're torturing it. Hope says it's not what it seems. Cleo says every creature should be treated with respect. And he doesn't look hurt. Translation spells aren't working. Hope hopes he'll lead her to the portal he came out of and lets him go. Fly free, little butterfly.
**Still never seen less than a year of property taxes be $91,000. In rural Virginia?
Hope with a map. Locator spell. Tracking the Leprechaun. Malivore monsters always want something. Hope has to go to the prison world to see if Landon is there. He was a phoenix and Malivore is his dad. You don't have to help if you don't want to. Cleo says what are friends for? Spot on the map is the bank.
Ric doesn't qualify for the personal loan. He asks what can he do. She propositions him!
Josie moping on a bench swing. Dating is pointless. People leave or hurt me. Or both. MG says you can't let that stop you. Josie doesn't want to. But she's scared. MG says you can't let fear stop you from being honest with the people you care about. Now he needs to leave to take his own advice.
Vera grabs Ric's tie. Ric wanted to fix things the right way and this isn't. Guard opens the door and says an armored truck has been stolen and I'm probably seeing things, but it looked like a leprechaun.
**MG, why would you hide the Ascendant and lie about it being destroyed? What sense does that make?
**If the school was behind in any bills, it would be utilities that would rack up high and fast, not property taxes.
Cleo and Hope track it to a parking garage. Cleo asks if they should split up. Hope says we need him alive, so if you run into trouble, scream.
Josie looking for Finch. She stormed out of the cafeteria upset. Josie needs to see her. Learns that Finch works at the Grill most nights. Ethan told his sister to be careful. Something different about Finch.
MG finally reaches Alyssa. She dropped the illusion spell. I don't do favors for exes. Lizzie asks if he saw the leprechaun. It ate all the money and even some supernatural artifacts! Did you see it? No...
Money all over and car alarms going off. Hope found the armored truck.
Cleo silences the sirens. Ric finds her. She shrieks. Hope hears. Coin drops on the ground. Ric checks a car. Leprechaun tackles him. Trying to strangle him! Cleo floats him. Leprechaun bloats and explodes. Goo and riches. Ric covered. The girls took cover. Hope sees the Ascendant and she's pissed.
Josie finds Finch and apologizes. I wanted to see you so bad it freaked me out. Why are you here, Jo? Josie wants to get to know her better and has no idea how. I have all this baggage and I don't want to mess it up. Let's go on a real date. If you can give me another chance. Finch pulls away before they kiss. I work doubles on the weekend. But I'm sure we can find a time while I drive you home. Hop on. The moped.
Tie dripping in leprechaun goo. Kaleb says Lizzie told you everything? Yeah, that you had nothing to do with it and did everything I asked. Kaleb says that's not true. But the loan came through, right? Ric says no. Human world is just as corrupt as the human one. What do we do about the school? Ric says the leprechaun had a pot belly of gold. We pay back the townies and still have happiness.
Hope mad at Cleo. Cleo didn't know he would explode. She only wanted to help Dr. Saltzman. Landon consumes you. In the few days I've known you, you haven't asked a single thing about my life? So Hope does. Cleo says her sisters were murdered. She hates violence. I figured out how to move on and live. Hope will find the real Landon! There's a portal and I will not exhaust the options. Take that bust away. Hope finds the Ascendant in the mess of cash.
MG finds Lizzie. Lizzie doesn't need drugs. Or smoothies. He came to admit the mess he's in. Promise you won't think less of me after I tell you. She says that'd be hypocritical. He says it's about the Ascendant. What if I told you that I actually had the Ascendant this whole time? That I've been lying about it? Lizzie would have don anything to help you. Seriously. But it's too late. Why? Because Hope is behind him holding it. How could you?
