"In Cold Blood"
GREGORY SMITH DIRECTS THE EPISODE - Lois (Elizabeth Tulloch) and Chrissy (Sofia Hasmik) pursue a new lead in the Mannheim investigation against Clark's (Tyler Hoechlin) wishes. Meanwhile, Jonathan (Michael Bishop), Jordan (Alex Garfin), and Nat's (Taylor Buck) attempt at a kind gesture is complicated by an unexpected obstacle. Lastly, Lana (Emmanuelle Chriqui), Sarah (Inde Navarrette), and Kyle (Erik Valdez) adjust to their own new normal. Gregory Smith directed the episode written by Jai Jamison (#303). Episode 3:
Clark wakes from a nightmare. Hears screams. Flies up into the atmosphere. Listens, then flies. City is collapsing! He's searching for Lois yellin for him as everything disintegrates. He hurries to her screams. The Daily Planet falls.
Clark wakes in bed. She's asleep next to him.
morning in the kitchen. Lois calls Lucy. Then talks to Lana and Kyle. Then tells Chrissy. Stage 3 is nearby muscles and lymph nodes. No lumps. She starts chemo this week. Telling her dad. He asks about the Fortress. Clark says his mother said there's nothing she can do. General Lane weeps at the table.
Lois is going to the Gazette. She's going to get Chrissy going through the investigation. Boys in the kitchen. They made breakfast. Made all her favorites before chemo.
Sarah getting read into the new security system John set up. Then Lana. just need Sophie and Kyle to do the same. Lana says Kyle won't be necessary. Ouch. Sarah's grounded. Sarah reminds that she has dinner with Dad after school. Lana says come home straight after. She leaves. Lana says to John that it has to be hard what Lois is going through. He says I feel for her, but she's not my wife.
Chrissy and Lois with all the files on Bruno. James DeStefano was also given compassionate release. A.H. on the form. Dr. Alistair Hook. Lois always suspected he patched up Bruno's guys, but couldn't prove it.
Clark waiting at the cancer center. Lois isn't answering her phone. New Carthage can't wait any longer. They have to give today's chair to someone else. Nurse says don't worry, she sees this all the time with new patients. But Lois should reschedule as soon as possible.
Closed hospital. Lights still on. Lois thinks the clock is ticking. Chrissy spots fresh blood. Lois carries a forensic kit. Birthday gift from Dad. Clark texts Chrissy asking where Lois is. Lois confesses that she missed chemo. Chrissy says text him back now and I'll watch you reschedule that appointment.
Sam brings stuff to the house. Is Lois upstairs? On her way back from an investigation. Sam says you can't let her be selfless right now, Clark. Clark says he'll talk to her.
Boys with Sarah and Nat discussing Lois. Nat wants to get her a gift she can't return. Candice is their waitress. She asks Jon to give her a ride after work. They pick at Jon about not telling Candice about the party and Eliza. I'll tell her. Just stop judging me.
Clark and Lois. She says I legitimately forgot. Clark presses her. the story is not more important than your health. She tells him she rescheduled tomorrow. He says we'll go together.
Sarah complaining to Kyle about being grounded. He reminds her she's the only one that lied. She tells Kyle about the new securiy system. Mr. Irons put it in. Kyle asks what he knows about security. Uh...... Sarah rambles that Mom just wants to be safe.
Nat talks to her dad about Lois. Tells him about her gift idea. He says Lois isn't her mother. She knows. She just wants to do something nice. He says do what you want. It's your watch. Ooo...
Jon and Candice. Her dad comes out. Tells them to get inside. Jon says bye. Her dad asks what Jon paid for the truck. Jon says it was a gift. Her dad says hell of a gift. Get on home, then. Gee, he's not trouble at all.......
Clark having the same nightmare again. Trying to reach her before the Daily Planet crushes her. He wakes in bed again.
Waiting for her appointment. Switch chairs. Better? A little. He hears a flood somewhere. She tells him to go be Superman.
Nat made a kinetic watch. Showing the boys. John Henry is not happy. She says it's hers to give.
Lois sitting and all the sounds are loud. Chrissy texts good luck today. Lois asks for updates. Chrissy says no.
Lois drives to her. What aren't you telling me? Chrissy isn't happy. I'm worried about your priorities. Lois pushes until Chrissy says she saw trucks arrive and got the plates.
Lana at work. Kyle brings coffee. Lana tells Emily they'll pick this up later. Kyle asks how she's doing after the attack. He asks who set up the new security. She thinks he's snooping. He says no. He cares about her. She says he cares about his ego. Don't play your little games. It's none of your damn business. Thanks for the coffee.
Clark returns to the clinic looking for Lois. Nurse says she left before we could start. I've been trying to reach her.
Lois turns her phone off. Chrissy doesn't want Superman mad at her. They hear men in the building. Chrissy repeats that she saw they had guns when the men entered the building. Lois pulls her to run and hide and end up in a refrigerator room of blood bags.
Chrissy wants Lois to call Superman. Lois uses the device. No response. Freezer must be shielded.
Superman goes to Lane and Irons and says Lois is missing he can't hear her. John says don't worry, we'll find her.
Jon's truck is missing. Thinks it's missing. Jon asks Candice to talk for a second. Your dad was acting kinda weird last night. She defends him. Gets defensive. Storms off. Nat and Jordan think it's Candice's dad. Jon wants to handle it in a way where her father doesn't go to jail.
Chrissy is scared. Lois says it'll be okay. Chrissy wants to talk about Lois missing treatment. They hear men's voices.
Lana asks Sarah what she said to her father. Be mindful what you tell him about me. Sarah says give me a list. Don't be a smartass. Sarah says don't make everything about you. Lana calls Sarah ungrateful. Everything I do is for you and your sister. Sarah says you became mayor to make yourself feel important. Always bossing everyone around. Probably why Dad cheated on you. Lana slaps her!
Nat lands with the boys in her suit. Found the truck. Jon wants Jordan to use his powers. Nat says she's getting the watch back herself. Jon asks Jordan if he can knock everyone out with super speed. Jordan says we need to take out cameras first. Nat asks How long can you hold your breath?
Freezer opens. Lois walks out. Chrissy uses the call. Lois calls for Superman. Clark races in. Superman lands and takes out the men long enough for the girls to run.
Chop shop. Canister rolls in. Men get gassed. Jordan and Nat provide protection so Jordan can get to the truck. He gets in and hurries out. Truck rescued.
Superman getting hit with a Kryptonite ray. His vitals her failing. Irons arrives with the hammer. You okay? Bad guy sets off a bomb! The heroes escape unscathes from the fire. Land near Lois and Chrissy outside. The look on Clark's face.....
Farm. Clark chewing out Lois for today. You put Chrissy in danger! I know! Why?! She says because you're treating me like I'm fragile, and dammit, I'm not! She says it's in my head and exhausting. He wants to help her. With what? I'm the one who will be pumped full of drugs. ME. He knows. But we get through this as a team. Dad calls. Are you okay, pumpkin? Yes. Good, because we need to talk about the blood you found. It's not good news. It's Superman's blood!
We pushed Mr. Miller as far as we can. They need someone they can push further.
Can't find the watch in the truck. They have a visitor.... Candice. Jon asks what's up? She found the watch in her dad's stuff. Guess you were right. I'm sorry I got so mad at you. He's forgiving. There's something I should tell you.
Lana at Sarah's door. I am....horrified and humiliated by my behavior, Sarah. You know how my mother was and I never want to be like her. I will do better. I love you so much, honey. It might take you time to forgive me. But I'm so sorry. Can we please just talk?
Diner. Chrissy finds Kyle at the counter. He says you do not want to hear about my day. She says I almost died in a freezer. the worst part? Lois. She won't listen to anyone that's trying to help her. He knows about that. My dad.....he died of liver cancer. thing I remember the most was how stubborn he was. He didn't want to admit he was sick, until the end. She asks him to come back to her place. Watch a movie. Sarah comes into the diner. Maybe another time. She's obviously been crying, so he hugs her.
Clark has the keys. He's driving Lois. Everyone's here this time. Nat gives her the watch. They hug. Irons tells Nat she was right. When she was in trouble, I realized she was my friend. I'm really worried about her. Me, too.
Family walks to the truck. Sam opens her door. Lois says thank you. Really means a lot. They drive away from the farm.
Next ep - Lois tries to do too much until the meds catch up to her.
