“Too Close to Home”
TENSIONS MOUNT – Lois (Elizabeth Tulloch) interrupts an intense conversation between Clark (Tyler Hoechlin) and John Henry (Wole Parks). Meanwhile, Kyle (Erik Valdez) tries to run interference between Sarah (Inde Navarrette) and Lana (Emmanuelle Chriqui). Lastly, Jonathan (Michael Bishop) has a heated discussion with Candice’s dad. Episode 4:
Giant Sequoia National Forest is on fire! RV is trying to drive through it. A tree explodes and falls. Superman catches it before it lands on the RV. Jordan breathing cold. Superman hears Lois. Jordan says he can handle the fire. Clark tells him to start at the perimeter and work in.
Clark finds Lois just clumsy, and okay. She says you don't get to use your super hearing just because I'm sick.
Morning. She's not hungry. Boys yelling at each other. Clark tells them to stop. Lois needs peace and quiet after chemo yesterday. Do something outside the house today. You need something, text me, not your mom. Do not bother your mother with anything!
Lois is reading about Bruno investing in a hospital. Clark tells her not today. Just resting. What are we going to binge? Alien Ancestors? She wants to watch Forensic Confessions.
Sarah at Kyle's. Lana's texting and calling. Kyle takes it. Can you please hand Sarah the phone? Sarah hangs up on her. She shouldn't have slapped me. That's why I was so upset last night. Sarah tells him about the fight. He's sorry she's stuck in the middle. Lana calls him. He says I'm coming over.
Irons talking to his computer. Then he comes to Clark's. this couldn't wait. The gauntlets.....I think they were made my John Irons of this Earth. Clark says we know. We've been investigating Mannheim. Lois thinks she can put him behind bars. John's not happy she talked to his sister. He quickly bails. Feel better.
Jon knocks at Candice's place. Her father sent her out. He wants a chat. Don't spread lies about me. Jon doesn't back down. And gets punched. Keep it up, you'll get more than my fist!
Clark and Lois cuddling on the couch. He suggests popcorn. And leaves the house.
To go to Irons. Apologizes to John. What did Darlene say about the other me? He was selling weapons to Bruno Mannheim. Anything else? She encouraged Lois to get those tests. If it wasn't for her, we wouldn't know about the cancer. Irons is going to talk to her.
Sam and Jordan. See anything you should be alarmed about? Sam brought him to a barber lol. Your father understood the best disguise was to blend in. You need to be responsible enough to be a hero. Jordan mouths off. Sam says don't disrespect me like that! I'm a 4 star general in the US Armed Forces!
Jon comes home. Lois notices the black eye. Pushes to get the truth. Dad said not to bother you today. Watch your show. I'm fine.
Kyle and Lana. She says there was no excuse for losing control. He says Sarah shouldn't have called you pushy. Lana says she said it was my fault you cheated. She called me selfish. Kyle says Sarah shouldn't have thrown his mistakes in her face. You don't deserve that. Lana just wants to apologize.
Lois asks Clark where he was. You have the worst poker face. LOL. He tells her about Irons. He says he smoothed it over. She chews him out for excluding her today. She says Jonathan just came home with a black eye the size of Australia. I'm a wife and a mother and a reporter. She says cancer doesn't change me. Telling people to treat me differently is not okay. Now let's make sure our son hasn't joined some stupid fight club.
Jon says he doesn't want to stress her out. They ask what happened. He says his truck was stolen. Jordan comes in and says did you know Grandpa wanted me to cut my hair? Clark hears the DOD calling.
Sam says the blood came from the DOD. When he was hospitalized. What have they been doing with it since then? Sam doesn't know.
Kyle chews out Sarah for the words she said to Lana. And then tells her Lana wants to apologize. To fix this. Your mama loves you very much. Then how could she do this to me? Kyle says Lana found you when you tried to hurt yourself. She called 911, then you stopped breathing. They found her doing CPR. She did not leave your side. Sarah says everything's changed. you don't live with us anymore, and I just see Mom differently. Kyle says you wouldn't want to be judged on your worst day....so maybe don't judge Mom on hers.
Irons finds his sister and explains who he is. Asks to know about her brother. I have a daughter. If I'm going to raise her on this world where the man who looks like me was murdered by Bruno Mannheim, I need to know. She wanted her dad to be wrong. But John shut me out of his life. Said I'd be better off without him. 6 months later, he was murdered. She says except for the scar, you look just like him. On both worlds, they were the wonder twins. Very close. She can't do this. It's not your fault, but please, don't come back. A car pulls up. My boss would like a word.
Boys confess to Lois. She's not happy. Jonathan, who did this to you? Candice's dad.
Kent family drives to Candice's house. Lois says stay in the car. Knocks. Did you hit my son? She calls him a miserable coward. He says don't think I won't lay hands on a woman. Boys get out and want to go. She tells them to get back in the car. She's got this. Tells him to stay away from my family. Walks away. Get back in the car.
Home. Head upstairs. But then Lois gets weak. I'm fine.
Superman and Sam. Blood was synthesized from a single drop. Officer says it's been used for nothing since. Hand to God. Superman sets it on fire. Thank you for your time, General.
Irons brought to Bruno. What do you want? To know if you're the type of man I think you are. For years, Lois Lane has been coming after me. She continues to dig like a dog with a bone. Irons asks what's that got to do with me? He says you tell me. Photo of Irons and Superman.
The Cushings. Lana begins to apologize. All I can ask for is a chance to make things right. I promise it'll never happen again. I never want to hurt you, honey. I'm so disappointed in myself. Sarah says About what I said.....I didn't mean it. I don't know why I said it and it was really hurtful. I know it wasn't true. Lana just wants things to be better. Kyle asks Sarah to be willing to give it a try.
Clark comes home. What's wrong? Lois says she overexerted herself a little. What happened? We went to talk to Candice's dad. He hit you? And stole my truck. And threatened Mom with a gun. Clark is pissed. She says this isn't a job for Superman. Clark says "he's not going."
Bruno says Irons was one of the smartest men I ever met. But he just wouldn't listen. How smart are you? The last photo is his sister strapped into what looks like a bomb!
**You don't mess with Clark Kent's family, superpowers or not.
Walk away, John, and so does she. Don't make the same mistake he did. John discreetly triggers his watch and dives out the window after telling Bruno to go to hell.
Clark comes to the diner. Clark, are you okay? Nope. He confronts Candice's dad. Who says get the hell out of my face. Clark says you hit my son. Pulled a gun on my wife. And now you and I are steppng outside so we can talk. I'd really rather not do this in front of your daughter. He attempts to push Clark. Who doesn't move a millimeter. Clark slams him into the counter. Makes a very calm threat. Then says Lois will expose him and he'll go away for a very long time. Now leave. Her dad runs out. Kyle's impressed. Clark apologizes for interrupting everyone's dinner. Then says he's sorry Candice had to see that. She wants to see Jon.
The AI says John has 30 seconds before it detonates. He gets to her. 20 seconds. He starts trying to disarms it. Sped up the detonation. 5 4 3 2 1 cut it close! She's free. I'm so sorry. She weeps in his arms.
Irons flies back in and grabs Bruno's throat. I should kill you. Bruno says anything happens to me, they all die. Including the family in New Orleans. John releases him. Bruno says never show your face again.
Candice at the farm. She's sorry. She says her dad was trying to take care of her. Lois says she can stay here. You can stay in Jonathan's room and Jon can stay with his brother. Clark tells the boys to go with Candice to get her things. Clark hears her dad driving into the next county. Lois laughs....this is going to be a horrible disaster, isn't it. Probably. LOL. Love you.
Lois wants more eggs in the morning. Candice offers to bring back tea from the diner. She and Jon leave. Jordan is told to apologize to Sam. Then the two of you are going back to the barber shop.
He tells Sam he's sorry. Sam said it hurt my feelings. Jordan says you didn't deserve it. You were trying to help me. We're good? Yeah. Sam got to thinking about what it's like at Jordan's age, especially how you look. Came up with another option. A suit and goggles from Sam's dad. Who earned a Flying Cross. Jordan promises to take care of them. Now let's go fishing for real this time.
Lois tells Irons she's sorry. He says Bruno found him from what happened to Lana. Irons needs a few weeks to put security in place for his family. Lois wants to get treated for cancer at Bruno's hospital. Clark is going with her.
Bruno wants to know what Lois is after before he tries to take her out.
