FLASHBACKS TO FREYA’S CHILDHOOD — Suspicious of where her true loyalties lie, Klaus (Joseph Morgan) invites Freya (guest star Riley Voelkel) to the compound in order to gain more insight into her past with Dahlia. After a series of strange visions, Rebekah (guest star Maisie Richardson-Sellers) begins to realize the body she’s inhabiting is attempting to regain control. With Rebekah’s life on the line, Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) puts his bargaining skills to the test when he turns to Vincent (Yusuf Gatewood), who may have some knowledge that could help them. Lastly, at the bayou, Jackson’s (guest star Nathan Parsons) frustrations grow after Aiden (guest star Colin Woodell) questions his leadership skills. Daniel Gillies, Phoebe Tonkin, and Leah Pipes also star. Kellie Cyrus directed the episode written by Michael Russo (#216). Original airdate 3/16/2015.

Norway, 977 A.D. Dahlia gives Freya food. Freya doesn't eat. Dahlia says you need to be strong so I can teach you to be powerful. You can stay young and beautiful. Together, we'll be the strongest witches the world has ever seen. Freya wants her mama. Dahlia says I'm your only family. Your mama gave you away.
Klaus invites Freya to brunch.
Rebekah dreaming. She wakes. People outside are yelling. Marcel says stay away from the window. He goes outside. The witches want Eva. Rebekah comes out. She says this is a misunderstanding. Josephine says 2 teens are missing. Marcel says Eva's body was taken over by Rebekah. Ms. LaRue says take her. Elijah says no. My sister is innocent of this crime. You have my word I'll find whomever is responsible and see justice served. She says you have until tomorrow.
Klaus and Elijah at the table. Klaus says the wolves out. Elijah says Rebekah needs help, so whatever you're planning here, don't. He greets Freya when she arrives.
Marcel goes to the witch formerly know as Finn. He recognizes Marcel. Marcel says he needs answers. The witch says you can't keep me here. My kind will want me back. Marcel says they do. For 9 months. Your beef is with a guy named Finn. He took over your body and made some nasty enemies. But first you need to tell me about Eva Sinclair. Witch says he's done talking.
Rebekah came to Davina to get help. Davina's been there studying since Kol died. Rebekah says the owner of this body is waking up and she's angry. Davina gives her a book.
Freya admires heirlooms. Elijah wants to get on with the important stuff. Klaus wants to know about Dahlia. Freya says Dahlia wants true immortality. She'll be drawn by the child's power. She'll kill any that defy her. My one chance is to ally with you and kill her. Freya starts at the beginning. A new connective magic. Dahlia augmented Freya's power and took from her at the same time. Once they were bonded, Dahlia became unstoppable. She killed a nearby village. Even the children. And she's only grown stronger. Elijah's phone rings.
It's Rebekah. Any luck with Freya? He says you should be here. She's in the cemetery. She's on her way. Gets painful flashes in her head and passes out. Uh oh. Eva taking control again? Or a witch attack?
Bayou. Aiden and Jackson sparring. Aiden's playing rough. Tells Jackson to always stay the strongest if you want to stay Alpha. Aiden says the wolves will challenge you if they see you as vulnerable. I'm looking out for you.
Freya says Dahlia is paranoid, obsessed with power. Hungers for love and revenge. Elijah knows the type. LOL. Dahlia wanted the bloodline to become her powerful coven. Freya wouldn't give her a child. She vowed never to love. Dahlia took her freedom. Flashback - Freya doesn't want to follow Dahlia into this madness. Please, do not bind me with this curse. Dahlia says you will thank me in one century or the next. Freya says, and so we slept. Gathering power and living 1 year of life. Klaus says why not end it yourself? You must have considered it. Freya says Dahlia never gave me that freedom. I'm immortal and impervious of harm. I'm like you. A creature of great power, cursed for all time.
Marcel talks with Camille about Vincent. Bring him in. Vincent's testy. Talk to my friend here. Be nice, or I won't. Cami introduces herself. Vincent says I do not break. She says that's a relief. Last time we spoke, you were obsessed with me. He says you know who possessed me? Front row seat. So sit down.
Rebekah wakes. Her phone is ringing. She gets another flash. Answers the phone. Elijah. What's wrong? Where are you? She says I don't know. It's an old brick business complex, factories or warehouses.
Jackson and Hayley spar. She asks if he's thinking about what Aiden said. He confirms. She says the pack loves you. Just remind them of that. He says what about the other problem. You mean Klaus? She says she can handle him. We're a team. We no longer have to go through this alone. They join hands and kiss.
Rebekah tells Elijah and Klaus. Elijah says Freya is downstairs. Klaus doesn't trust her. Elijah understands that, but we're powerless to help Rebekah. He's inclined to give the benefit of the doubt to Freya.
Vincent asks what Finn did. Cami says he terrorized the city, tried to steal a child, and executed his brother. What you experienced was a violation of a profoundly personal nature and I'm here to listen. He says what am I supposed to feel about this? He gets upset. Apologizes. He asks if he hurt her. She says you didn't do anything and the only thing you can do now is move on.
Elijah brings Freya to Rebekah. She says she can help. I can put you in a deep sleep and suppress this other essence. Rebekah asks when can we start. Klaus wants Freya to right down her spell and verify it by Davina. Freya says I doubt she could understand it. Are you incapable of giving me a chance to prove myself? I've dreamt of you all for 1000 years. She sang to Elijah in Esther's womb. Felt him kick. Elijah says Mother rarely mentioned you, but she did say you were enchanted by my birth. Freya says there's nothing to replace what was taken from us, but I hope we can make something better. If you can trust me to start. Klaus breaks Freya's neck. Rebekah is horrified. Klaus says, Right, now we can have a proper family meeting.
Rebekah and Elijah are mad. Klaus says you've only just met her! She played you both for fools. Rebekah asks how he can be so certain? Because it's exactly what I'd do. Rebekah says then we need to talk to Marcel. Klaus says you know I'm right, Elijah. Elijah says I only hope your choice comes from reason, not fear.
Camille and Vincent look at the city. It's a beautiful city. He was born and raised in the Treme. He walked away from his coven and gave up on being a witch. Marcel was asking about Eva Sinclair. There's something he needs to know.
Freya wakes. She's mad. Klaus says immortality is a serious claim. I had to make sure you were telling the truth. He brought her to the church. Wasn't going to let her stay in the house. Suspects she is not entirely forthcoming. Elijah and Rebekah can be a bit naive. I reward their loyalty by protecting them from treachery and I sense you are treacherous. So I give you one last chance to tell the full truth, Sister, so I suggest you don't muck it up!
Freya says I hate Dahlia because of a man, Mathias. She loved him for a year. Dahlia allowed me to love him. It led to the darkest moment of my life, the day I tried to steal my son. Dahlia killed Mathias. Freya drank a bottle of the strongest poison. I wanted to die. But Dahlia knew my death was never an option. How am I alive? Dahlia says the spell guards us from harm, but the spell did not protect everyone.....the baby. Freya grieves. Dahlia says I will forgive you for this, eventually, but there is no escape from me. Not even death. Dahlia turned me into a monster and I will destroy her for it. Is that the truth you wanted to hear? Klaus says he will not be manipulated! She says Dahlia is coming and without me, she will make your daughter a slave. Klaus says if there will be an alliance, it will be one of my design, and if you try to control me again, I will make your existence Hell. She says, then leave. But consider your choices carefully, Brother.
Vincent and Rebekah meet. I hear you have information for me. He says he never thought he'd see Eva again. She was my wife. Rebekah says that's bloody fantastic, isn't it?
Hayley tells Klaus we need to talk. Do we? She says all this tension needs to go. No more orders, no more favors. He's Alpha, period. You will show him respect, Klaus! He is fighting for our daughter. Klaus says there's only one person I trust to protect Hope and that's me! You all seem to think it's a democracy around here and it's not! I decide how to protect her, no one else! Your husband would do well to remember that! You tell him, so when he incurs my wrath, you'll only have yourself to blame.
Woooo......damn, Klaus. He's definitely backsliding, but he doesn't truly get how much the others have grown. Elijah and Rebekah and Marcel and Hayley are individuals, not drones. They'll do what they think is right.
Vincent at Cami's bar. He doesn't want anything to do with Eva. Too much history. He tells her to make it a clean break, too. Get away from the supernatural stuff. She says we do better in this town when we are not alone. They toast glasses.
Marcel escorts Rebekah home. Says you're going to be okay, I promise. She says if Josephine LaRue gets her way, I'll be back in that bloody asylum. For the first time in 1000 years, she's afraid. He says it's okay to be scared, and we're all vulnerable, but Klaus is the smartest person I've ever met. Elijah is the stuffiest. You're the strongest, no matter what body you're in. Need anything? She suggests a drink. He leaves the room. Rebekah gets a flash again. Marcel comes back. She tells him of the flashes. Do you mind staying to keep an eye on me? He says he's not going anywhere. They hug.
Bodies. Davina!! Eva found her and is channeling her with a lot of other teens.
Klaus comes to Elijah's new home. Elijah lights candles. Klaus says I chatted with Freya. I can use her, but never allow so damaged a creature to have a say in my plans. Elijah says we'll express the same caution as always. Klaus says what if you're too late to stop Freya if she's duplicitous? You will suffer unendurable guilt. Elijah says no harm will come to Hope. We need to consider every weapon. Dahlia is coming and the only question is when.
Hope sleeps. Dahlia's song is heard!
Next ep - April 6th. Eva has resumed control.
