COULSON FACES A SURPRISING NEW RIVAL, ON THE SEASON PREMIERE OF "MARVEL'S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D." ON ABC

"Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." returns for an action-packed third season on TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 29 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network, with Director Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) and Agent Daisy Johnson (Chloe Bennet) leading the charge as S.H.I.E.L.D. searches the world for more powered people in the aftermath of their epic battle with Jiaying and her army of Inhumans. However, Coulson and the team soon find out that they are not the only group looking for these new Inhumans.
On the season premiere episode, "Laws of Nature," when Coulson and the team discover a new Inhuman, S.H.I.E.L.D. comes face to face with another organization searching for powered people. And still reeling from Simmons' dramatic disappearance, Fitz goes to extreme lengths to try to learn how to get her back.

Episode 1:
A man's apartment. The fish oil changed him. Metal is melted. He's on the street, disoriented, scared. Melting any metal he touches without control. He's trying to get to a hospital. SUV's pull up with soldiers. They're told to use lethal force if necessary. The man pleads to not be hurt. He doesn't know what's happening to him. He runs when they start shooting. Hides in an alley. Skye rescues him. She has Hunter and Mac with her. She tells Joey that she's here to protect him. We'll get you out of here. A pod drops down. They get him in it. It takes off upward.
The soldiers come into the alley and everyone is gone.
Quinjet follows Joey. Into the new bus!
Boss pulls up. Soldier says the target escaped. She says manage it without making more noise. Coulson photographs the scene.
The Bus. They leave Skye to talk with Joey. He's still freaking out. She says your DNA changed. You will survive this. He says so you can cure me? She says no, I'm sorry. You have to learn to live with it. He wonders why this box isn't melting. She says it's an alloy that's safe. Why don't you lie down, sleep? We'll be in the air a few hours still. She asks him if he takes vitamins, fish oil? He says yeah.
Daisy and Coulson talk. He loves his new toy. New plane can stay in the air a long time. This is the first Inhuman they've been able to secure. 5 have been taken by the other group. Coulson's got the woman's photo in the database now. Figuring out who she is will lead them to that group.
They're experimenting on the Inhumans!! Awful things. They're all dead. Boss lady doesn't want to lose again.
Bus lands. Bobby is there to meet the box. This is his room. Put your clothing in that drawer for analysis. The screen will ask you for a medical scan. She's researched him. Daisy will be in soon to give you the rundown. you're safe here. She leaves. The box door opens.
Hunter tells Coulson that the group isn't Hydra. Mac in the office, too. The woman has been with every security agency. Hunter won't go near Bobby. Coulson takes his prosthetic off. He's still getting used to calling Skye Daisy.
Mack and Daisy visit Joey. How are you feeling? Like a stranger in my body who I hate. Thanks for asking. Lay it on me. You don't have to soften the blow. She explains about the alien DNA and Terrigen. You're one of the first people with this gene to come into contact with it. He says I'm an alien? Part alien. Welcome to the club. We call ourselves Inhumans. Joey starts laughing. Sits on the bed. At least it's a good story. Can't wait to tell my friends. Mack and Daisy says you can't go back to your old life, Joey. Not in the foreseeable future. Joey gets upset. He likes his life! Mack turns on the news, showing Joey's case. SHIELD is your best option. Joey wants to be let out. Freaking out. Daisy presses him on the wall, shaking the building.
Monolith still has Simmons. Coulson and Bobby in the lab. She says this isn't deadly to humans, just triggering to Inhumans. She's frustrated with the slowness of rehab. Coulson asks where Fitz is. She says he's chasing down a lead on the Monolith. She'll call him. Coulson's old hand is in a jar. She calls Fitz. Get back here soon.
Tangier, Morocco. Fitz is checking on one last thing.
Tangier. Fitz's taxi stops. The driver tells him you shouldn't go alone, though I'll not go with you. Fitz says okay, just stay close. Fitz tells the men he's like to arrange a meeting with Yousef. He'll want what's in this case. They put a hood over his head.
Mack and Bobby, talking about Fitz. She says let Fitz dig. She fires a gun for testing. Mack checks it out. He suggests asking Hunter to look into back channels. She says Hunter isn't talking to her. She does know why.
Fitz taken in. The case couldn't be opened. They'd like him to do it. Fitz says yes, but only in exchange for something you have. I've already lost a friend, and to get her back, I need to understand the properties of an ancient monolith. He's looking for a parchment that is supposed to talk about it. You can have what's in the case and hand over the scroll, or splatter my guts on the wall. your call. Yousef shows him the artifact. Fitz opens the case. Splinter bombs. Like what killed Bakshi. Yousef says you love this woman you went to all this trouble for, yeah? He sets off the bomb. Bright light. Fitz runs with the artifact and steals the car.
Daisy tells Coulson she needs help. Lincoln. Coulson asks Mack. Mack says if Daisy can talk him in, then Lincoln might do some good. Bobby tells Coulson the woman visits a DC branch every few days. There's a routine every time. A single moment she's alone all day.
Coulson confronts her. It's a trap. He and Hunter are surrounded by guns. Ooops. Knowing Coulson, he expected this.
Hunter says I think there are more of them than us. Coulson ask what he should call her. She says Rosalind. He says he feels like he's talking to a ghost. She says and you're a corpse. Officially, SHIELD is dead. She plans to detain him. Coulson is happy to answer questions now. She asks where are you hiding them?
Lincoln working in a hospital. Mack and Daisy get him in a private room. She says I wouldn't be here if it wasn't important. It's not the Monolith. We found a new Inhuman. No one is better at helping transition than you. Lincoln says this is a curse. he's trying to have a normal life. Let it die. Mack says you're not leaving until she's said her piece.
Rosalind says she's taking care of the Inhuman threat by any means necessary. She brings up dead bodies. We've recovered carcasses blasted with some energy weapon. Coulson says he hasn't killed anyone in months. That's not us. She asks, If you're not killing them, who is?
Mack isn't scared of Lincoln. Lincoln says you should be. The hospital lights flashing. Lash! He's coming for Inhumans. Charges at Lincoln and Daisy.
Lincoln fights him. Mack shoots him. He makes a doorway and runs. Mack wants a bigger weapon. Daisy goes after it.
Rosalind and Coulson both getting a call. She excuses herself. Coulson says it's going to keep ringing. He and Hunter get free. Rosalind comes back to see they're gone.
Daisy, Lincoln, and Mack look for the beast. Daisy and Lincoln fire at it and it keeps coming. She drops it below. Lash is gone. She asks Lincoln to come with them. He runs off. Mack says we have to get you out of here.
Bobby asks Hunter why he's not speaking to her. He says you're not supposed to see the bride on the wedding day. He gives her the ring. She didn't mean getting married again. But they're still sleeping together. He knows where his ring is. Just need scuba gear to retrieve it. Hunter is going to go after Hydra. She says we agreed you'd wait until I'm 100%. He says he's going to hunt Ward down.
News, the President giving a speech about the threats. He's created an Advance Threat Containment Unit to take care of this by any means necessary. The President is asked about an alien contagion. He says they're false rumors. Any threat will be eliminated, I assure you.
Joey and Daisy watched it. He says he's lived with a secret before. (Being gay.)
Coulson finds Fitz in the lab. His arm is off again. He tells Fitz that you've thought you had an idea before. Fitz says he knows now. He gets the scroll. It's Hebrew, one word. What does it mean? Death. Coulson is going to Sheffield to talk to Gemma's family. He respect Fitz for not giving up, but we need your big brain and big heart here. I'm on my 3rd hand! May left and never came back. We have to accept it. Say goodbye. Gemma would want us to do that, okay? Fitz says okay. Coulson leaves. Fitz goes to a shotgun and into the room with the Monolith. Shoots the lock. Opens the door. Steps in with the Monolith. Yells at it to do something! Beats on it. Screams at it. Poor Fitz.
Running on desert mountains. Gemma! She has a cut on her brow. She's on another planet.
Next week - Ward returns. And Peter Nichols.
