With old enemies gone, Abbie and Crane are seemingly moving on with their lives. However, the discovery of a mysterious tablet shows that there may be a new dark prophecy surrounding our Witnesses. The two team together, with the help of an old amulet, and continue their epic takedown of the forces of evil in the all-new "I, Witness" Season Three premiere episode of SLEEPY HOLLOW airing Thursday, Oct. 1 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. Episode 1:
The Horseman's horse. The Horseman. Stopped by a woman in a cape. She sings a song. And puts him in a box. It's Pandora. "I have given you the Horseman's power." She lets a monster out, saying We have work to do.
Abbie stops a guy from running, arresting him. Johnny, I thought we had a deal. Johnny says he's being straight with them. She lets the CI go. She gets a call.
ICE has Ichabod. In prison orange. He thanks Abbie for coming. She asks what the hell happened? How long you been here? He says 5 days. She says you've been gone 9 months. And this is the call I get? He says yes, there's much upon which we need to catch up. I have been delinquent in my communication. He gives her Katrina's necklace. It's linked to the soul of Abraham. Last night, something happened to it. Ichabod prays each night before bed......no, he talks to his cellmate. LOL. The pendant started burning. The energy is completely drained from it. If something happened to the Horseman, then evil is afoot. She asks what he was trying to smuggle past customs? He says an artifact.
She signs him out. Ichabod wants his package. Abbie tries to get him to leave and they'll get his stuff later. He gives a speech. LOL.
2 guys at a cabin, drinking. One goes in the cabin, then screams. The other goes in and trips over the body. A demon attacks him.
Ichabod and Abbie in the car. He told her about flying on a plane. She says you should've called me sooner, we are a team. He says are we? Team implies purpose. He went looking for Crane descendants. Traveled to Scotland. To the crypt. Including his spot. He opens it, and finds a tablet. He deciphered some of it. Summarian. It says The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. She laughs. He thinks it's prophecy. She says our mission is over. She gets a call about 2 bodies in the national park. She says she's on her way. I have a new mission now. I'm an agent of the FBI.
They go in the cabin. Spot blood on a newel post. She says it looks like a residue, something brushed against it. Ichabod walks to the well. Finds a big monster footprint. He has dragon's breath. It tests for demonic activity. He sprinkles the powder on it. After a delay, it flames up. Evil has returned to Sleepy Hollow.
She takes Ichabod to the FBI. He's impressed. She says she didn't fault him for leaving. But she realized she didn't have to put her life on hold, either. Nice office. Boss tells her my office in 10. She introduces him to Mitch Granger. He repeats my office in 10 and leaves. Ichabod reminds her the Bible says the Witnesses endure 7 tribulations. Moloch was only the first. Dani comes in with the forensic report. And is practically drooling over Ichabod, LOL. The victims were frozen in fear. Don't have results on the red substance, yet. Dani leaves. Ichabod says FBI will only take us so far on this.
The Archive. Everything's packed up. Ichabod asks what happened here? City sold the building. It's scheduled for demo next month. That makes Ichabod mad. She says now it'll be a mini mall. Jenny shows up. They hug. Captain Irving left in the middle of the night, no word, no warning. Said it was the best way to protect his family. Ichabod is looking for a demon, one that can manipulate fear.
Pandora doing a spell? She scoops water out of a well and pours it on a plant.
Abbie gets the lab report. The red pigment is cinnabar. Ichabod looks up a Chinese demon. A Battlefield demon. They can paralyze their victims with fear. They're servants, not masters. Abbie accepts there's a new player in town.
Ichabod pulls out Franklin's sketch book. The Battle of Bunker Hill had a report of a red devil there. Jenny says you think it was present there? He says yes. Washington got a message to Prescott. Had it delivered by his most trusted operative. Betsy Ross. He says her role as a seamstress was a cover. Abbie says they had a thing. He argues not.
Flashback - he took Betsy out in a wagon on the mission. She teases him. Time to go. She kisses him for luck.
Abbie says Smooth. LOL. Jenny finds the message. It's what I do. It's part of Col. Prescott's estate. Until it was sold to Colonial Times.
Which is a restaurant. Ichabod is horrified. Abbie teases him. They spot a display case. Abbie breaks into it. Steals it. In the car, Ichabod opens the message. Abbie will drop him off at the Archive. She has her drug lord to take down.
Pandora on a road. Police offer pulls aside and asks if she's alright. Where are you going? She asks how far the settlement is. He says it's 5 miles to town. She prefers to walk. To Sleepy Hollow. She had changed her appearance to modern clothing right in front of the officer. And got rid of her accent. Trippy.
Jenny looks through things in a box of hers. Ichabod arrives. He says he may need assistance in interpreting the message. Jenny is still trying to find suitable employment. She says it's good to have him back. He says the demon is triggered by aggression and attracted to gun powder. Jenny asks where's Abbie? He tells her. She says that's perfect condition for the demon to attack.
Yep, it's lurking at the site. And goes in after Abbie's boss. Slashes his throat. She shoots it. It runs off. She calls for help. Tries to save him. He bleeds out.
Abbie back at the Archive. She tells him what happened. She says his eyes turned white when they attacked. Ichabod says that explains it. Don't shoot until you see the white of its eyes. Abbie says that requires teamwork to get that shot. She gets a call. Change has hostages. Ichabod says they'll follow soon with a plan of attack. Jenny gathers weapons.
Chang insists on talking to Abbie.
Ichabod and Jenny arrive. She has gunpowder as bait.
Chang and Abbie talk. She says yes, I saw the monsters. I've seen demons, witches, ghosts, even the Horseman of the Apocalypse. The monsters are real, but it's okay, because it's my job to stop them. I'm a Witness. She gets the hostages out and Chang starts firing.
The demon shows up. Jenny gets its attention. They go in the building. Ichabod tells her to take the shot.
Abbie takes Chang down. Cuffs him.
Demon coming toward Ichabod. Then it goes after Jenny and knocks her out. Attacks Ichabod. Abbie shoots it dead. It disappears in red smoke. She asks if he's okay. Yes. Thank you for that. She says welcome back, Crane. They hug.
Ichabod asks Abbie how she persuaded ICE to return his property. She says it's part of being FBI. They look at the tablet. There's another piece. Inside is a mural. At the bar, Ichabod translates it. Our work is not complete. She agrees. We don't know who killed the Horseman or summoned the demon. Jenny brings them drinks. Ichabod downs his beer. Jenny offers a refill. Ichabod says he belong here just as much as anyone else. He says it's not the country I thought it would be, but it's the one I have. She says you may not have family, but you're not alone. Abbie goes to the bar and pays. A woman spills on her. It's Pandora!! Abbie says that's an interesting name. Like the lady with the box. She welcomes her to Sleepy Hollow. Pandora says it feels like home. Her eyes change.
