"Where Nothing Stays Buried"
KLAUS AND LUCIEN FACE OFF - In the wake of a ruthless plan that has left their family shattered, Klaus (Joseph Morgan), Elijah (Daniel Gillies) and Freya (Riley Voelkel) desperately search for a way to take down Lucien (guest star Andrew Lees) once and for all. However, their efforts are put on hold following an urgent plea for help from Kol (guest star Nathaniel Buzolic) and Marcel (Charles Michael Davis). At Klaus' insistence, Freya and Elijah reluctantly stay behind to offer their help, while Klaus and Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) head to the bayou after uncovering Lucien's latest plan. Once there, an unexpected showdown between Klaus and Lucien forces Freya to take matters into her own hands, setting off a chain of events that will change all of their lives forever. Episode 20:
Kol still holding Davina's body. Marcel arrives. Kol stands. Marcel asks what are you doing here? Goes to her body. Picks her up and weeps. Kol says the Ancestors had hold of me. I couldn't make it stop. Nothing worked! Marcel stands. Attacks Kol. Kol says I loved her! I swear I did! Marcel tells him to get up. Get up. This is New Orleans. Witch spirits can be brought back from the dead, so we are going to bring her back!
Klaus in his room. Did you bring it? Hayley says Jack wrote down everything your father said about the ancient werewolves. We should do something about Cami's body. She wanted an Irish wake. can make arrangements. He says there's no time. We are at war!
Vincent tells Freya he has an idea for a spell. She's found a way to kill Lucien. Only the witch that cast the spell can undo it. He says the Ancestors used me as a conduit. Nobody alive can tap into that. Marcel calls again. I'll be back. Elijah enters. She needs a strand of his hair. I'll rest once I've sent the spirits back to Hell.
Marcel says we have to consecrate Davina. Kol says she won't be safe. Vincent says we'll consecrate her but make sure she's somewhere safe. Marcel says we need Freya. Kol doesn't think his family will help. Marcel is insistent.
Lucien is pissy. Asks the Regent why he can't get in the Mikaelson home, yet. Regent says it's in the sister's name. Lucien will get Klaus out in another way. Kill the other sister.
Marcel pleads with Elijah. Klaus says you will have help. Come on, Kol, let's get you cleaned up. Marcel says thank you. Elijah nods.
Vincent with Davina. If the Ancestors are responsible for taking you and Cami, I don't know....maybe death twists us up into something ugly. That ain't gonna happen to you. We're bringing you home.
Freya will draw Davina's spirit into a circle. That will keep her safe until you find a way to resurrect her. I need to channel an Original for power for the spell. Elijah or Klaus. Freya's early warning system goes off. Rebekah's painting in flames. Lucien is going for Rebekah.
Freya says if Lucien wants to find Rebekah, he will. Klaus moved rebekah. Tells Elijah to prevent Kol from suffering the same loss I did. Today, your grievances are tabled.
Hayley with Klaus. Admit you need me. He takes the keys. I'll drive. LOL. She had a point.
Kol tells Freya I need this to work. She says don't worry. Tell Vincent to begin the consecration. She takes Elijah's hand.
Vincent works on Davina. Okay, kid, see you soon.
Davina awake. Kol? She's in the cemetery. Wanders. We've been waiting for you, Davina! Ancestors attack.
Freya chanting.
Ancestors have such plans for Davina.
Freya chanting. Elijah shaking.
Ancients chanting against Davina.
Freya chants and Davina's in the circle. She thanks them. She and Kol hold up their hands. Can't touch, but almost.
hayley says I know you're angry. He doesn't need advice. She gets it. He says this isn't the same. We both know the person you share a true connection with his still breathing, so we're not the same.
Davina tells them what was being done to her. Kol asks if there was a dark green stone? Yes. Kol says your soul would've shattered into pieces. There would be no rescuing you. That's your ancestor's greatest punishment. She says you'll bring me back today. Kol says I swear it. Vincent texts. We'll bring you back soon.
Freya wants to channel Davina to make Lucien killable again. Everything comes with a price. To steal power from the Ancestors, I'll have to break the circle that protects Davina. He says we can't. They'll destroy her! Freya knows. I know what's at stake, Elijah. What the hell do we do?
**Oh no.......if Freya loses Davina, Kol and Marcel will never forgive her and Elijah for taking that route. It'll fracture the family. I have a BAD feeling about this! Gives me a hint at what's referenced in the remaining episode blurbs.
Elijah tells Klaus about Freya's idea. Klaus says find another way. We destroy Davina, we lose Marcel and Kol. I won't have us turning on each other.
Regent looking for Rebekah. She's buried somewhere in the Bayou.
Hayley says that was nice. Cami cared about her and would want you to fight for her. Klaus says I've thought of a million things I never said to Camille. Talk to my brother, Hayley. Stop wasting time.
Vincent confronts the Regent. Why are they targeting Davina, Van? This community betrayed itself. Van says the Ancestors have a vision. Nothing will stand in their way. Vincent says did the Ancestors lay out their plan, or are you in the dark like everyone else? Van says careful, you've been shunned. Vincent and Kol knock out Van.
Hayley says I've pushed him away for so long. What if he doesn't-- Klaus says He does. Phone rings. Ask him yourself. Something crashes into them.
Elijah says they're not answering. We're out of time. Freya says we're out of options.
Marcel and Davina. He says you'll always be my responsibility. She says you didn't let me down. I grew up. Thank you for saving me that first time, and for everything else after. I love you, Marcel. Elijah says forgive me, Marcel, and pins him to the wall. Freya chants and starts breaking the circle.
Davina screams for Marcel. Elijah breaks his neck. Davina's bleeding from the eyes. Freya keeps chanting. Davina disappears.
And screams in the realm of the Ancestors.
Freya says it had to be done. Elijah looks horrified.
Marcel wakes. Vincent asks who broke the circle? Marcel tells them. Vincent says Van will resurrect her. Marcel says good, I'll get Davina's body.
Klaus gets out of the SUV. Lucien punches him. Klaus fights back. And gets thrown into a building.
Davina running.
Lucien finds Klaus in a bathroom. Throws him through another wall.
Davina attacked. Terrified.
Klaus stands up. Lucien says I can smell the stench of fear.
The stone is being used against Davina again.
Lucien hunting Klaus.
Davina screams again.
Marcel lays her body on the floor. Vincent tells Van to start. He starts chanting. Marcel kneels next to Davina. Kol pleads with her to wake up. Van suddenly stops chanting. What happened? Van says nothing. It's like she wasn't there at all. The Ancestors got to her first. Vincent says that's it, man. She's gone. Marcel caresses her face, leans his forehead on hers. Kol nears. Marcel holds her hand, weeping.
**Oh no......show did it. Poor kid.
**Whoa, it's only 9:39?
Hayley coughs. She's got a piece of metal in her holding her to the ground
Lucien holds Klaus by his neck. Klaus says Lucien, we were friends. Hayley arrives. Lucien is winning against both of them.
Kol threatens Van. Vincent says let him go. it's over. Van runs. Marcel says I should've known better than to trust your family You people destroy everything you touch. Kol can't argue. Walks away.
Hayley's heart in Lucien's hand. Will he rip it out? Indulge me, and I just might spare the mother of your child. Kneel! Get On Your Knees! Do you want to measure your pride against my mercy? Klaus kneels. Elijah and Freya arrive. Elijah saves Hayley. Freya chants against Lucien. Lucien screaming. She says his power is gone. He's nothing but a vampire now. Lucien on his knees. Says the prophecy still stands. You can't outrun it. Klaus says you never could crawl from my shadow, and despite the gift of immortality, you've always known what you are. Klaus carves Lucien's face. You Are Nothing. Rips his heart out. Drops it after exchanging a look with Elijah.
Night. Klaus burns Lucien's body. Rebekah's coffin in the truck. Klaus tells Hayley about Camille's funeral wake. Let's let Lucien burn alone. We should get back to Marcel and Kol. Freya says there's something you should know.
Marcel drinking his sorrows. Throws the bottle. Elijah and Klaus. Marcel says I did everything you asked! Lists it all. I did EVERYTHING. Elijah says we know. Marcel says no you don't. Klaus says he had no choice. marcel says they were right about you. Aurora, Tristan, Lucien. Anyone not your family is nothing to you. Nothing! Elijah says you are family. Marcel says no, not anymore. Never again. I am NOT your family. Klaus tries to touch him. Marcel evades. No! NO.
Van praying. Kol says Davina would've have wanted you dead. Thing is, she was the only one keeping me from being me. He bites and drains Van. Kicks the candles. Leaves.
Freya finds Vincent. You destroyed somebody good today to save people that have had more than their share of lifetimes. She knows. She's so sorry. I had to preserve my family. He yells Stop Freya! you're just as much of a bloodsucker as the rest of 'em. He leaves.
Elijah drinking alone. Hayley looks in on him. He notices her. She comes closer. Sits next to him. Takes the glass away. He kisses her hand. She leans into him. He kisses her forehead and wraps his arm around her shoulders.
Klaus with Hope. Freya comes in. Taking respite from the darkness? Perhaps there's solace in avenging Camille today. He says our family is fractured. There is no victory to celebrate today. My demons won. She says Lucien is not your demon. Klaus says today I fear we created a new monster entirely.
Marcel and Vincent. Not in the mood for company. But. See. What happened to Cami, to Davina, cannot go unanswered. Vincent drinks. I don't like vampires. I don't like you. But I do respect you. Same stuff that made Lucien. I extracted it from Aurora's hear. Vincent wants Marcel to be the thing they fear. New Orleans is our home, Marcel. Time we took it back.
Next ep - Marcel will make them answer for this.
