LOCKED UP — Following Oliver’s (Stephen Amell) shocking decision to turn himself over to the FBI and reveal his identity as the Green Arrow to the public, he has spent the past five months in Slabside Maximum Security Prison. Determined to keep a low profile to shorten his sentence for the sake of his family, Oliver is tested when he runs into old foes. Meanwhile, Diggle (David Ramsey) and Dinah (Juliana Harkavy) have taken on new jobs and left their costumes behind but not everyone is following suit. With her focus on William (guest star Jack Moore), Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) tries to start over but someone from her past resurfaces and things become complicated. Episode 1:
Running through the woods. Boy falls. William and Felicity chased by Diaz. She's shot. Then another shot.
Oliver's nightmare. Morning. He trains in his cell. then in the shower. then getting his tray of food. Hair is buzzed and beard grown out. He sits alone. Someone stabs his food and takes a chunk. Oliver looks at the photo of his family. Marks another day done. Lights out. Morning, 4587. Beautiful day.
Oliver works out in the yard. A nerdy guy comes to him. You're the Green Arrow. I'm a big fan. Oliver says I'm not that person anymore. Man begs for protection. Something, please. How am I supposed to survive in here? Oliver says I don't know. Leave me alone.
Chow hall. Oliver sits alone again. Prisoners start a fight. And criminals attack Oliver. Brick and two others. Guards allow it. Oliver's beat on a while before the guards stop it. Oliver makes sure the shiv is on one that attacked him with it and he's taken away.
Rich guy attacked with arrows. New guy in Green Arrow suit. Left at the police station. Curtis' boyfriend says go get the captain.
Oliver in cell. 4587, you pull that crap again, I'll make an example out of you. Yes, sir. You have a visitor. It's Diggle. How are William and Felicity? Still safe in witness protection. FBI has made no progress. But it's been 5 months. Maybe Diaz is off the grid for good. Diggle thinks this must be very frustrating for Oliver. Oliver is focusing on keeping his head down. Diggle says it's a good play. I worry about you. Mentally. Being passive, not fighting back. Never been who you were. Oliver does what he has to do. Right now, this is what I have to do. Diggle says don't lose yourself in here.
Felicity has pink hair. And piercings. She makes coffee.
Cop with the captured man. Dinah is captain now. Quite the list of allegations against you. Innocent men don't show up bound and gagged at my doorstep without reason. No vigilantes in this city for 5 months. He wants to be let go. She says as soon as the officer takes your statement.
Rene teaching boxing. Including to his daughter. Self defense class for kids. Her bag is leaking. Lots of duct tape. Teen thinks the class is dumb. Rene says be focused and disciplined so you don't have to fight. Kid wants him to be Wild Dog. My family got robbed last week. Cops don't care about the Glades. We have to care for ourselves.
The criminals in Oliver's cell. Brick holding the photo. Oliver asks what they want. Brick and Samson and Turner. We're a man down, so you take his place. Oliver says no chance. They leave but this isn't over.
Dealer on the phone. Teen comes to him. You sell guns, right? Rene followed. Dealer recognizes him. They block Rene and the kid from leaving. So Rene fights. And gets a gun pulled on him. Then the place goes nuts. New archer interceding. Bad guys down. Rene doesn't know who the hell that is. He pulls an arrow out of a pallet.
On a boat in a storm. Young man heading to Lian Yu in the future. He's hoping to find a man there.
The coffee shop. Guy thanks Felicity for helping with his computer the other day. She's cleaning around the place. He asks her to dinner. She's flattered. News reports the Green Arrow might have returned.
Press asking Laurel about the Green Arrow. She says he is not Oliver Queen. This is someone new. This new guy is a threat to the rule of law. There's a zero tolerance policy on vigilantes.
Rene gave a statement to Dinah. She prefers staying under the FBI's radar. We all agreed we wouldn't be vigilantes to honor Oliver's sacrifice. He says Oliver asked us to carry on. She says the new Arrow is making the problem worse. We have to be heroes in a different way. He asks where she is on finding the vigilante.
Curtis works for ARGUS now. They went to him to break into the financials of the rich guy. Lyla is talking to HQ. Diggle says Oliver is surviving. Rich guy peddles illegal arms. He's panicked and selling his inventory. Any guesses who the new arrow is?
Lian Yu. young man following a map. finds the graves. Robert Queen.
Prison. Little guy tries to sit with Oliver. Oliver insists on being alone. We're not having a conversation. Brick comes over. Oliver threatens to expose him to the guards. They bully the little guy. Oliver says I can't help you and walks away. They beat and kick the small guy.
Rene is back in the precinct. Dinah dressing for the arms meet. Rene still thinks she shouldn't take out the new Green Arrow. The kids have hope again. They need something to believe in. She says you don't know his motives or who he is. Rene says he could've let me die and didn't. She argues that there's a big difference between being saved and not being the current target.
Felicity comes home. William couldn't sleep. He's taller than her now. How much longer do we have to stay here for? She doesn't know.
Oliver marks off another day. Little guy limps to his cell. It's next to Oliver's. Oliver asks if he's okay. The man is crying. Oliver says you'll be fine. Guy says you left me to die. Oliver knew they wouldn't kill him. They want me. Oliver can't risk strikes against him. I need to get back to my family. the man says he was wrongly accused of murder. There's no justice in the city now. It makes sense why there's a new Green Arrow out there. The old one is a coward.
Arms deal. About to make the exchange. Dinah waiting for the vigilante. Cryptocurrency handed over. New Arrow attacks. Police charge in. New Arrow attacks the arms dealer. He begs. Arrow says I have what I came for. You have failed this city. Police tell him to drop his weapon. There's a flash and he escapes. Because Wild Dog intervened.
Island. Young man is strung up upside-down. And punched. You never should've come here.
Oliver has the nightmare of Diaz killing his family again.
Felicity's alarm goes off. She goes to the bathroom.
Oliver in the shower.
She'd dressed for the day. Without shoes. Alarm error! Diaz!
Oliver attacked in the shower.
Diaz sent the attack on Oliver.
Diaz wants Oliver to know I killed his wife. She makes a distraction. William runs. She attacks Diaz.
She beats on Diaz until he puts her through the coffee table.
Oliver still fighting for his life. Until he's knocked down and dazed. You're only alive to hear this message: Diaz found Felicity. Your wife is dead.
Oliver pacing in his cell. Asks the guard for a phone call. My family has been attacked. Please allow me to make a phone call. You don't have phone privileges. But you have a visitor, though. It's Felicity. You okay? How's William? She says he's fine. Are you? I am now. They miss each other. He apologizes for not being there. I'm here to keep you safe. You need new identities. I need you back in witness protection. She has William in a boarding school in Cambridge. She's not hiding. If ARGUS hadn't gotten there when they did. He begs her to not tempt fate. Go back to witness protection. She won't. You don't get to decide this time. I'll always wait for you, but I can't let what happened happen again. I have to fight back. You understand that. Time is up. He has to leave.
Rene has news. We have new equipment. Bags, gloves, shoes. Help from someone looking out. Dinah arrives. Mom and Pop shops got cash. Same amount missing from the weapons buy. She chews him out for the other night. He apologizes. She's working to restore faith in the police. If you go out as Wild Dog again, I'll lock you up. think long and hard about it.
Felicity and Diggle. She goes to William. He wishes he could've gone to the prison. She says no one can know you're here. She gives him the symbol of reconnection Thea gave her. You're going somewhere super safe. When I get Diaz, I'll come get you. I swear.
Another day for Oliver. He goes in the yard and takes Brick down. Guard says stand down, don't be a hero. Oliver takes down another with a weight. And punches him out. You should've killed me. Then Oliver kneels and puts his hands behind his head.
New Arrow crossing off his list.
Who sent you? No one. But you know my father. My father is Oliver Queen. William? All grown up.
Next ep - Going after Diaz. And Oliver and the little guy are now friends.
