WILLA HOLLAND GUEST STARS – Reunited with his sister, Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Thea (guest star Willa Holland) find themselves searching through a familiar maze of catacombs. Meanwhile, John (David Ramsey) and Lyla (guest star Audrey Marie Anderson) partner on a special ops mission. Episode 3:
Nanda Parbat. Stopping at a campfire. Arrow flies and he catches it. Thea attacks him before seeing who it is. Hi, Speedy. He shows her a photo of Mia. Thea's scarred on her face from Athena. Nyssa is in Thailand or something. Pits are gone. Thanatos Guild isn't. She has to take them down after Roy. Oliver says Roy will be back. They missed each other. OIiver tells her about The Monitor and his deal. I need to be 100% sure I can trust him. I hoped Nyssa could tell me what the League knows about him. He's seen the future. He's seen me die. It's soon, Speedy. And? She says you've cheated death more than any of us. He says it's different than anything we've dealt with before. She says okay. But Nyssa's not here.He says Sara can't help, either.
Mia back at the bunker. William comes out. He shocked the attackers. Connor looks at the monitor. It's a city-wide assault. William suggests trapping JJ. Connor says we need the upper hand. Mia says we'll take them all in one fell swoop. She wants to storm their HQ. The others don't agree. She tells them to move out.
Diggle and Lyla. JJ's asleep. He asks her why he's here instead of Nanda Parbat. Hawke's family in trouble. Sandra and Connor are in Kasnia. Addul Nardoc owns the plane. He's throwing a fundraiser at his home. We need to infiltrate and save them. I need you with me, John.
Thea and Oliver looking for Talia. They're attacked by her students. Hold! Leave us. Your students used to ask questions first. Talia says hesitation proves fatal. You shouldn't have come to this place. Oliver says you owe me a debt. I've come to collect. Talia's face is scarred, most likely from Lian Yu exploding. That's the last time we saw her, right?
You come here at great peril. Especially you. How is my sister? Oh, right Talia was in the prison. She and Thea bicker. Oliver asks about The Monitor. Talia says if I help you, I can consider my debt paid? She says the records will be in the catacombs under the stronghold. We leave at nightfall.
Future. They drop in. Someone's coming. They hide. William spots a system to use. Mia thanks Zoe for coming even thought she doesn't like the plan. Zoe says you can't let fear dictate your strategy. William needs more time.
Kasnia. John and Lyla dancing at the party. Upload complete. Sandra and Connor here in the north east corner. Kadir's son is at the party, too.
Searching the catacombs. Talia says it's likely to be in the tomb of the first Ras Al Ghul. They enter. The archive has been raided. But Talia finds the Chronicles of Al Fati. Speedy reads Arabic. Oliver figures out the clue. We need to burn the scroll. He puts a torch to it. And there's a ball. Scavenger hunt. Athena arrives. She wants the ball. Talia tosses it. They're attacked. And Talia tosses blinding powder and they get away. Athena isn't pleased.
Talia says Athena and I are blood enemies. Thea doesn't know why Athena cares. Talia says she wants Al Fati's Sword. She memorized the map. Oliver tells Thea to go back to camp and wait. Thea thought they were way past the overprotection. Athena and I were fighting long before you showed up. He knows she can take care of herself. That's not what this is about. He says if you want to help me, let me handle this. He walks away from her.
Dig tells Lyla they need to leave if Turner is a target, because so are they. She argues. He tells her to leave and he'll get Sandra and Connor. She asks what's going on with him. The disintegration of Earth 2 got to him. Like looking into the eye of God. It changed me. I can't risk losing you. She says no one knows the future. We can only enjoy the time we have with the people we love and make our choices from strength, not fear. There's no one else she'd rather be with to the end of the world.
Talia counseling Oliver on Thea. And you carry yourself with a heaviness I've not seen since Russia. Booby trap goes off. Oliver shoots an arrow and stops the spears. They get a map. Talia drugs Oliver. She's sorry. She can't let Athena get the sword. And I can't let you get it, either.
**Did Talia have the scars during the prison stuff? Can't remember.
Thea finds Oliver. You're down one evil companion. I thought I told you to stay at the camp. Heh. Oliver wants to go up the face of the mountain. it's faster. She's going with him.
Mia pushing William. He tells her to have patience. He needs more time to get all the cameras up. Trust me. She says this HAS to work. The Deathstrokes need to be gone this time. She says he's the only family she has left, so she won't risk him. William says operating from a place of fear is not the way to protect each other. Camera view of the Deathstrokes. Mia tells Connor and Zoe get ready to move. Mia threatens William if he tells anyone about their conversation.
Climbing the mountain. Thea asks what's going on. He says things have changed. He misses his family. I wrestle with making the right decision. Maybe I didn't. I saw an entire world wiped from existence. A world you weren't in because I wasn't around to protect you. I have to know my death will protect the people I love. I need my family to be safe. She's been thinking about Mom and Dad lately. What they'd think about the lives we've chosen. They thought they were protecting us. Helped us become the people we are today. Turned us into heroes. You can't change the future, Ollie. She grew up a little bit. Now can we please get off this mountain?
The door is open. Athena shows up with Talia in custody. They have to go in first to test the traps. Sacrificial lambs. Thea quipping, lol. What could possibly go wrong?
Light the torches. Indiana Jones made this look way more fun. You must embrace death. They open the coffin. Stairs downward.
Lyla and Diggle rescuing the hostages. Lyla wants to distract Kadir. He recognizes her. John gets to Sandra and Connor. Move quietly, come on.
Kadir was just a boy when he saw his father murdered. He pulls a gun on Lyla. She redirects him. then John shoots him in the back. Let's go home.
Prisoners down the rope first. Phoenix. Oliver stops Thea from a trap. All things burn, but a phoenix rises from the ashes. Talia gets through. Thea goes after her while telling Oliver to hold off Athena.
Talia says you're too late. Thea wants to challenge her. Talia accepts.
Oliver taking on the goons.
Talia cuts Thea.
Ceiling falls and the fire blows. Oliver comes for them. Thea gets Talia where she wants her, with a chain wrapped around her throat. Do you yield? Talia does. Thea releases her throat. Then sees Oliver.
**Talia's been through a lot, but Thea still deserves credit for out-thinking her. Or being devious like a Merlyn. We never did see Malcolm's body, or a hint of it.
Thea reading the book. Al Fati was visited by a god with the power to see all that is and will be. The god could bring the end of all things. Talia is leaving. The sword was destined to be yours, daughter of Merlyn. Her students will follow Thea now. The honor and the burden are yours. it is your destiny. Thea says we can all make our own choices. The world needs a League of Heroes, not Assassins. It's not a one-woman job. Talia is intrigued. Father would be aghast. I accept.
Lyla gives Sandra an encrypted phone and a ticket home. John tells Connor you were very brave. Your father would be proud. They leave. John tells Lyla that we hold onto each other, and we'll be fine. Lyla asks him to promise he'll always remember the good times. He says he's not going anywhere, and neither will she. He loves her. She loves him, too. Always have, always will.
Thea and Oliver pondering The Monitor. Oliver will stop The Monitor if he's on the wrong side of this. She says you'll need help. He says I have John and Laurel. You have your hands full. He can't believe he's saying goodbye to her. She says it's see you later, and please don't die. They hug. One of us has to let go first. Same time? Heh. She'll miss him. Every day, I miss you. He says goodbye, Speedy. Bye, Ollie.
JJ addressing the Deathstrokes. Tonight we destroy the Unification Movement. Mia and Connor and Zoe break up the party. Mia with her throat cut. Zoe saves her. Then is stabbed through the chest! Mia catches her. Zoe says tell my dad. I'm sorry about everything. That I love him. She passes. Mia doesn't want to believe it.
Connor beating on JJ. JJ taunts him. Connor keeps pushing. And there's a BRIGHT LIGHT.
Oliver's in the bunker. With Team Arrow and the Future Kids. Dad?
Next ep - What year is this? Maybe the Deathstrokes came back, too. Maybe this is the beginning of the future.
