Episode 2:
Siren. Mack and Deke and Freddy in the car, chased by the Chronicoms. They pull to the side and let them pass. Freddy suggests changing clothes. Fancy duds will stick out. Booze in the trunk. Mack says you need to be honest with us. They leave him to change clothes and Freddy drops a Hydra green vial in one of the bottles.
May fighting for her life. She wakes in the tube. Healed.
Daisy and Coulson tending to the wounded girl. Knock on the door. Swordfish. Let us in. YoYo and Simmons. I'm a doctor, not a dame. YoYo asks what's going on. Freddy is a Malick. He's with Mack and Deke. Daisy wonders what the consequences are. Think of the lives saved if there's no Malick. But they won't know what happens in the future they might return to. They need to get out. Word all over town and coppers looking around.
Enoch tells them Agent May is awake and quite active. Simmons tells him to sedate her and put her back in the healing pod. Enoch says she doesn't seem to be in the mood to take orders.
He asks her to rest. She says I'll rest when I'm dead. He tries to approach and May puts the needle in him. He asks what she remembers. She killed Izell and woke up in that thing. He says correct, but you died, momentarily. Simmons saved you. She had a considerable amount of time to help you. He tells her you're in 1931. She's hungry.
Crates of whiskey. Freddy says the meetup is 500 miles away. Take the car and get out of here. This is where we go our separate ways. Train coming. He appreciates them saving his life. He owes them. Mack insists on staying with him to protect him.
Cops at the door of the club. And there's no way out.
Chronicoms cops break in. Koenig greets them. They ask about Malick. He says the Canadians came around a couple days ago and gave him the heebie jeebies so he sent them back up north. They kick the door in to his office. Team is behind a wall. Koenig offers them a drink. The girl wakes. They quiet her. Koenig made a flaming cocktail. Cop says if you see Wilfred Malick again, let us know.
Bottle gets knocked over. They head back to the office. The HYDRA chick is still struggling. Then the cops hear that the getaway car was found. They leave. Koenig locks up.
They leave the hidden room. Daisy tells the girl they want answers. She says she's a friend of his father. Daisy asks more questions. She says he's just a kid. Whole life ahead of him. Simmons needs a knife. And alcohol. And salt, some cork, some silver. Let's hope it's not what I fear.
Daisy calls Enoch. He hasn't reached the boys. It will take some time. May listening. Daisy is worried. Enoch will keep working. There is no puzzle I cannot solve.
Riding the train. Freddy asks about the walkie talkie. You can talk to someone and it doesn't have to be plugged in? You must be really smart. Deke says tech is kind of my thing. Freddy wasn't great in school, but made some friends. His father took a walk off a tall building. Lost everything in the crash. His mother hasn't spoken in 2 years. So he made friends. What's the harm in giving people what they want, right? I don't always want to do this. I got dreams. When this deal is done, I'll be sittin pretty. Whatever this is, not like it's going to change the world. Heh.
Simmons working. Koenig says she really knows her onions. Daisy tells YoYo you could've stopped that bottle. YoYo says I didn't see it. Daisy says you were staring at it. YoYo says I couldn't move. I froze. Why? The Shrike in me, maybe. Messed me up. Simmons knows what it is. The compound is part of a formula that appeared in Germany in WW2. First used by a man named Johan Shmidt. Freddy's about to deliver the key ingredient in the super soldier serum.
**We already knew what the green stuff meant, of course. So......if we start with Captain America this season.....will we go through the MCU's greatest hits in order? That would be a bit predictable, but still fun.
**Putting the serum together in 1931? It wasn't used for many years later. Why?
Mack and Deke looking at the bottles while Freddy sleeps. Walkie talkie sounds. Enoch tried to speak. But there's no answer. Mack asks Freddy what they're dealing with.
May dressed to fight. I need to be in the field. I protect them. It's my job. Enoch says you're in no condition to leave. She doesn't feel anything. She threatens him to tell her where they are. He's not allowed to tell.
Daisy and YoYo want to fix the past. Coulson insists they can't change the future. May on the walkie talkie. Simmons answers it. We're coming back to the Zephyr. May says she'll find the boys herself.
Daisy interrogates the woman. Koenig figures out the deal is at Hell's Harbor. And he insists on going along.
Chronicoms figure out they're on a train. We succeed, there will be no SHIELD, and those that followed us here will be out of time.
Freddy says I can't deliver open bottles. Mack says no one will ever know. Step aside, Freddy. Deke, give me a hand. Freddy pulls a gun. I can't let you do that. Listen to your friend here. Let me do my job and we can all go home.
Enoch follows May. I cannot let you leave this ship. She hits him. Then makes him drop the gun. He drops down in front of her. I do not wish to harm you. But he's trained to fight. Robot hits hurt. He has the Hunter level combat skill package. She doesn't give up yet. She slams his head on the stairs. He can't let her leave. She hits the button. Hits him with a fire extinguisher over and over. Coulson yells her name. Stand down. Team enters the cargo bay. Enoch is hurt. She says you're not Sarge. No, I'm not. You're not Coulson, either. Yes and no. He asks if she's at all surprised? He was dead. She says You still are.
**Poor May. Lots of tragedy in her life.
May back in the pod. Simmons says May let her sedate her without resistance. Enoch says she's clearly malfunctioning. YoYo asks if he contacted Mack. No. But he made advances. Once they're closer, he should be able.
Coulson shows Koenig the ship. He's freaking out. Is that a robot? Enoch excuses himself to fix his face. LOL. koenig calls them Martians. Coulson says no. But now, if you'd kindly take us to Hell.
Freddy still has the gun on them. He wants to know why they're protecting his life. Mack says our job is to protect you. How do you know this guy won't kill you after he gets what he wants? Freddy says the lady was a friend of my father. She's giving me a chance. Train stops. Freddy loses the gun. Deke picks it up.
Landing in 5 minutes. Koenig asks where they're from. Coulson says we're from the future. We protect the world from evil threats. They tell him Freddy will be responsible for many deaths. Time window is closing. In 17 minutes, the Zephyr will leave with our without us. There's no way to predict it.
Daisy gets Deke on the line. We have no time. Freddy is very dangerous. Deke says he's alright, just in a tight spot. We're kind of alike. She says don't let him out of your sight. When he says he has a gun, she says take the shot. Kill him now and save thousands of life. We don't have time to debate. Do it, Deke. Take the shot. 14 minutes left.
Mack sees the green vial in the bottle. Pours it out. What is that, Freddy? Deke says his name is Wilfred Malick. Ring any bells? Mack says father of Gideon Malick. Head of HYDRA. Deke says I have orders to kill him. Freddy doesn't understand. Mack orders him to put the gun down. Freddy pleads for his life. I never hurt anyone. Deke puts it down. Then shoots at the Chronicoms.
YoYo wants to go. Daisy tells her to stay. If we lose the Zephyr we're stuck. Enoch wants to go. Coulson leads them out.
Chronicom shooting at them. Mack attacks one of them. Freddy picks up the vial. SHIELD drives in. Mack can't fire the weapon. Beats the Chronicom instead. Coulson gives Mack a rifle. Koenig asks if those are the Martians. Coulson says yes. Stay low. Freddy's gone. Mack gives orders to find him. Coulson says they have 3 minutes. Deke clarifies that this was a rescue mission, right?
Koenig finds Freddy. Don't make the same choices your dad made. You're a good kid. Freddy says he'll be somebody, not a coward like his father. He shoots Koenig in the shoulder. You don't know me. You don't know nothin. He goes to meet the buyer. Koenig says you just stepped off a building, Freddy. Freddy gets in the car.
Chronicoms failed. They need to leave. The window is closing.
Coulson looks. They're gone. We have 2 minutes. Back in the car.
Enoch finds Koenig. Malick went with them. Couldson on radio. Enoch says the future is secure. Coulson says get back on the ship now. Koenig tells him to go. I'll be fine.
Back on Zephyr. 30 seconds until they jump. They need to close the door now or the ship could be torn apart. Enoch running to them. They cheer him to make it. But he is too far away for the seconds left.
Well, Enoch has been marooned before. He's already very old.
The bar. Enoch makes a cocktail. Serves Koenig. Koenig calls it a damn fine concoction. Enoch is hired. But Koenig wants to know more about SHIELD. And he wants to know all about robots. It's fascinating. As will your grandchildren. Enoch, this looks like the start of a marvelous friendship.
