“Frenemies, Chapter Four: The Evidence”
BACK TO THE SCENE OF THE CRIME — After one of Sylvester’s (Joel McHale) plans results in an unexpected outcome, Pat (Luke Wilson) calls upon an old friend for help. Meanwhile, Beth (Anjelika Washington) uncovers a new suspect in their murder investigation, and Courtney (Brec Bassinger) reaches out to Cameron (Hunter Sansone). Episode 4:
Cameron upstairs at home. Snowglobes. He picks up one with a girl. Shakes it. ice breath fills it. He struggles, drops it, and it shatters. His grandparents say he's learning, that's all. Takes time to control it. They still want to make their enemies suffer.

Courtney in bed. Cosmo wakes her. Zaps the pillow she tries to hind behind. Gets her up and flies her out the window.
to the trailer park. What are we doing here? finds Sylvester.
Hospital. He's stable. Large contusions. An Unusual puncture wound on his back. Pat says the police can't blame this on a freak tornado. Beth's mom reported it as a hit and run. that's good, right? The police will look for a driver. What should I have said? He hit a tree. Courtney says that worked for me before. Beth's mom realizes there's a cost to the hero thing. Sometimes, yeah. She's going to go call her daughter. Leaves the room. Courtney wonders why Sylvester would go alone and not say anything? Pat says because that's what he does. he was trying to do the right thing.
Rick on the phone with Yolanda. Her mom calls her name and she hangs up. Yolanda lies and says it's to work at the diner. Her father lost his job. Tips go to your college fund. I know. there's a realtor coming over tomorrow. Oh dear. Yolanda looks at her suit once she's alone.
Sylvester wakes. Ow. Courtney says you were attacked. Who did it? he doesn't know. Didn't see him coming or going. Nothing like an ambush to make you feel like a rookie. though I can now confirm personally that yes, our killer is in fact very strong. He was at the trailer to look for new clues. Criminal always comes back to the scene of the crime. She asks why he didn't take the staff? He says deal's a deal. It wasn't my turn. She wants to rethink that. Tells him to take the staff when she's not around. We're going to find out who did this. Pat called someone for help. Hello, Sylvester. What's up. Doc? good to see you again, old friend.
Camera in the hospital room! Who has eyes EVERYWHERE?
Doc looking at Sylvester's back wound. You're healing remarkably fast. I think I understand how you came back to the land of the living. the staff imbued him with its cosmic energy when he died. It's altered your physiology. Jenny became a living Lantern. So I'm a living staff? No, you're processing it. Absorbing it. Sylvester asks about Stanley. He keeps us on our toes. Along with the clinic, I'm plenty busy. He's happy to have passed the mantle to Beth. Sylvester is glad he's happy. Especially after.....everything. You've been through a lot, too. Are you happy, Sylvester?
Stargirl looking around. With Beth. And Yolanda. And Rick. It's like it's wiped clean. Cindy says they aren't stupid. If it was me, I wouldn't have let Sylvester live. Just honest. Beth spots something. A single skin cell. It doesn't belong to Starman. JSA thinks it's the attacker's.
**Kids, the constant hostility and bickering is going to get in the way of the job. Cindy did things. But she's also a victim. She didn't ask to be born and made into a living weapon, and now she's an orphan.
Storm over town. Cameron in his room. Grandparents bring tea. To calm you. So you can try again. Grandfather picks up his paintings. What about my art? It needs to be put away. Just for now. They leave. That poor kid.
Sylvester comes home. No alcohol. You got juice. Pat says Courtney and the others are looking for your attacker. Sylvester has never been ambushed. Come to this little town and get my ass kicked. Pat says Blue Valley isn't a normal town. Sylvester thinks he should've moved on like McNyder. Pat's trying to buck him up. Sylvester doesn't know if he should be Starman anymore. Pat says you're a legend.
Garage. The DNA is not human or identifiable. Chuck has seen this once before. An old enemy. Who? Death. It's Cindy's father. Dragon King.
**So, is there an actual dragon around town now? Flies on silent wings and attacks victims from above.
School. The other kids think Cindy might work with her dad. Courtney tells them she saw Cindy's childhood in the Shadow Lands. She experienced a lifetime of abuse. She'd never work with him again.
Mike and Jakeem in the bathroom again. Mike wants to work the case. They wish for a key and burst out of the bathroom on a flood of them. He just can't learn the lesson, can he?
Barbara's proposal is a new park. Her boss is on board. Eagerly. Offers her coffee. Two sugars and a milk, right?
Paula's in her office. Any problem with that new manager? Nope. He even approved my proposal. That's great. Paula got her a gift for her help. Taxidermy. She made it herself. Barb says it's beautiful. I love it. LOL
Sylvester and Pat watching an old movie. Clint Eastwood. Crusher enters. Door was open. Staff flies to Sylvester. Crusher heard what happened. He brought by a six pack of beer. Pat says that's real nice, but doctor said no alcohol. It's his peace offering. Sylvester says you want one? We're watching Outlaw Josie Wales. Crusher guzzles the beer and smashes the can on his forehead. I'm in!
Bell rings. Cameron at his locker. Courtney follows him. Art room. She closes the door. What are you doing? He's quitting art class. It's time to admit the artistic side of me is gone. She tries to encourage him. Things you love will help you heal. She wants to help even though he says she can't. She touches him and he ice blasts. She's afraid. He's shocked. The room is filled with ice.
Courtney locks the door. Get him a stool. He asks if she's okay. Are you? You're not scared? She's feeling a bunch of stuff. He tells her his family has had it for generations, to help people. They want me to carry my dad's legacy. this must sound insane to someone like you. Normal. He says his father's death wasn't an accident. He was killed. How? They won't tell me. But I know he died trying to help people. This is why I was avoiding you before. I could really hurt you, Courtney. She's not afraid.
Sylvester on the porch. Pat comes out. Crusher's doing one arm pushups to work off the carbs. Pat thinks it's funny they call each other maniacs. How are you feeling? Sylvester says there's nothing sadder than an old man clinging to his glory days. I think I should leave Starman in the past where he was great. Since I got here, all I've done is screw up. Pat says watching you screw up has helped her understand the importance of balance in her life. He's glad he could be a bad example. Pat says you could be a good example, too. A mentor to these kids. Grabs a box. Sylvester lifts the lid and sees the new costume. He has doubts. Pat says if I ain't retiring, yet, neither are you. Sylvester agrees.
Courtney and Cameron go to the mural he painted.
Yolanda and Rick trying to call Courtney. Tell Sylvester they think Dragon King is back and want to check the tunnels under Blue Valley. Sylvester will suit up.
The mural was the last painting before Cameron's hands stopped working. She says have you thought about using this gift like your art? Express himself through the ice. He doesn't know how she's so calm about this. She doesn't answer. He says it's too dangerous. She says only if you let it. You're sweet and kind and thoughtful. Emotion effects everything we do and how we do it. Embracing love and hope for people I care about worked. Let your gift out feeling the love you have for your mom and dad. He doesn't want to hurt her again. She says you won't. He tries. There's a blast and it snows on them. She laughs. Delighted. it's magical. He says like you. They hold hands. Lean in to kiss. And do.
Under town. Cindy at a table. Her arm has reptile skin! Is she trying to keep from changing?
October 5 - next ep. The kids don't like Sylvester's temper.
