"Frenemies, Chapter Six: The Betrayal”
CLASHING FRENEMIES — After learning that Courtney (Brec Bassinger) has been spending time with Cameron (Hunter Sansone), Pat (Luke Wilson) and Barbara (Amy Smart) go on a recon mission at the Mahkents. Meanwhile, Sylvester (Joel McHale) steps in to fill the void left by Courtney, and tensions between Yolanda (Yvette Monreal) and Cindy (Meg DeLacy) reach new heights. Cameron Gellman, Anjelika Washington, Trae Romano, Hunter Sansone, and Alkoya Brunson also star. Lea Thompson directed the episode written by Alfredo Septien & Turi Meyer (306). Episode 6:
Cindy staring at the damaged mural. Dragon eyes!
Breaking into a building. Rick in the gym after closing to lift weights wearing the hourglass. Running a timer to test it. Timer approaching an hour. He loads up more weights. It passes an hour. So much weight the bar is bending. He's happy it'd still working.
Camera sees him. Cameras see everything. The watcher is doing a puzzle.
Morning. Yolanda at church. Confession. She tells the priest she broke into someone's house and stole something. It was for a good reason. She says she had to expose a liar. i have proof of it all. He says the ends don't justify the means. She says there are people in this town who have terrible secrets, who have done terrible things. They're sinners. He tells her don't learn the wrong lessons about judgment from your family. She says she doesn't want to talk about them. She's not asking for forgiveness for what she's done. She's asking for what she's about to do.
Mike is juicing in the kitchen. Crocks were in the kitchen this morning. They took all the cereals and donuts. Sylvester comes in. No sign of Dragon King. Where's Courtney? She left. Sylvester tells them Courtney is meeting with Icicle's kid.
Garden. Cameron breathing. focused. She says how you feel affects what you do. If you keep focusing on the good, on love, then your heart will control it. He doesn't understand how she knows this. She says her coach told her on the gymnastics team in California. She releases the power and there are snowflakes. At the junction of the paths is an ice sculpture - his dad. Courtney says it's beautiful.
Mike and Jakeem bringing flowers and sugar to Cindy's house. Mike thinks killing the Gambler is beneath her. So they'll figure out the puzzle while Courtney's goofing off. Jakeem wants to be transparent and everyone should trust each other. Mike knocks. the Young All Stars bring you offerings. She says no and slams the door.
Yolanda shows the laptop to Sylvester. He tells Beth they need inside now. And then he wants Yolanda to put the laptop back where she found it. there's still a chance Dragon King is part of this, or someone else.
Barb and Pat heading to the Mahkents. Love can cloud your judgment. She wants Courtney to be safe. It's polite at first. this is lovely. Son's library and daughter in law's studio. He serves them ludefisk. Did you poison it? Of course not. Then why serve it? Mr. Mahkent is being more hospitable. Barb brings up Courtney and Cameron. Lily says you have concerns? They say no. He's a good kid. Barb gives her condolences for Jordan. He was a great man. Lily asks if she knows what it's like to lose a child? Courtney arrives. Mom, Pat, what are you doing here?
The diner. Mike and Jakeem find Zeek there. We have a girl problem. Fellas, you have come to the right place. They tell him she won't pay attention to us. Zeek says he danced on the beaches of Monaco with a duchess from Lichtenstein. There's only been one girl in all the world that's tamed his heart. The waitress! If it's meant to be, boys, it'll be.
Courtney says why didn't you call me? Cameron says she was helping me on a new sculpture. Pat says they should get going. Don't want to wear out their welcome. Grandpa says as long as the children are happy, that's all that matters. Cameron and Courtney being happy is all that matters now. Isn't that right? Lily says of course. The kids hold hands.
Pat and Barb leave with Courtney. We were just concerned. She says Cameron is not his father! Pat says it's the grandparents. Court says Cindy saw his grandmother have the same power Jordan did. But if they wanted to hurt them, they would've. Pat says he loves old people but they scare the hell out of him.
There's a camera at the Mahkent's, too! The puzzle continues growing.
Beth's house. She's working on the laptop. Her parents have been trying to call all day. Did you block us? Why? She says it's too dangerous for you to be this involved. Mom asks who's going to be protecting you? My team. Beth asks them to not make her push them away more than she has. They leave her room. Yolanda is at her window. Beth downloaded the laptop, so it's going back to Cindy's. Yolanda asks Beth if she's okay? Yolanda says hell no to letting her parents into this life. But my parents suck. She leaves.
Courtney in her room. Barb brings her flowers from Cameron. There's a card. Thank you for giving me hope.
Cindy's house. Yolanda in her room to return the laptop.
Beth decrypting the files.
Cindy finds Yolanda. you scratched the window coming in the first time. Cindy says I did not kill the Gambler. I can explain! Yolanda attacks her. Cindy loses from hair. yolanda sends Cindy out the window. They land outside.
Beth sees camera feeds on the laptop! Calls Courtney.
the girls call each other bitch. Hourman arrives. He and Wildcat attack Cindy. Yolanda says you're just like your dad. Cindy doesn't like that. Stargirl lands and forces them apart. Cindy says Yolanda started this! Yolanda says look at her arm! Courtney says the DNA at the crime scene.....it was yours. What's happening to you? Cindy, please talk to us. Cindy started changing when they got back from the Shadowlands. She was trying to figure out what her dad did to her. But I did not kill anyone! Stop looking at me like I'm a monster! Her eyes flicker. Courtney says let us help you. Cindy is tired of all this! Courtney says if you were just honest in the first place like I asked you to be. Cindy says tell them about Cameron. Yolanda says we know she's dating Cameron. Cindy says she's teaching Cameron to conjure icicles like his dad. He has powers like his family. And when he finds out what you did to his dad.....he'll come for you. And i hope that he does. Cindy walks away.
**I'm so tired of Yolanda and Rick having nothing but anger and judgment. They've both made mistakes, yet they act like they're better than everyone else this season.
The garage. Out of the super suits. They say they didn't involve Courtney because she hasn't been around. You lied to us. Courtney tries to explain and all they say is Cameron is a threat and you turned your back on us. Beth says she's been on Courtney's side. But you should've told us. Yolanda says she can't trust her. Courtney is sorry. Until we get this sorted out, maybe Sylvester should lead the JSA. Yolanda says he already has been.
Courtney looks at a photo on her wall. A knock. Sylvester. She says I think I kicked myself off the team. They don't want me anymore. He says she doesn't need to apologize to him. You thought you could handle it. Fix it all. We think alike. Balance isn't so easy for people like you and me. The line is blurry at best. Stargirl and Courtney Whitmore bleed into each other. You've gotta give yourself a break. My sister Mary.....you know about her. She always saw the good in people. Bad people could change. Even Brainwave. But he was different. Too far gone. But she was in love. I blamed his powers. Thought he tricked her. But.....I don't know. They married. Had a son Henry. For a while....she kinds proved me wrong. But in the end, Icicle convinced Brainwave to turn on my sister and nephew. She says Henry died protecting us. Sylvester never met him. I don't know Cmaeron Mahkent. But I know you, and I trust your gut over anything. So if he's a good kid needing guidance? I'm on board. But a wise man named Stripesy once said You can't do everything yourself. Sylvester says he'll talk to the others. We'll get through this together.
Pat was listening.
Beth scans her room. No surveillance.
Courtney finds Pat. You're not going to say anything? You've been piled on enough today. I can't say anything better than Sylvester did. Courtney doesn't know what she'd be doing without him. Beth knocks and enters. What's going on? You look worried. Beth rambles. She starts juicing. Then shows them the laptop. The camera feeds the Gambler found. Including one in their kitchen. What do we do now? Pat says don't say another word. Closes the laptop.
The watcher hasn't finished the puzzle. We only keep hearing breathing.
Next ep - Find the spy. Hourman says we're coming for you and punches a camera.
