DEAN AND SAM FACE THEIR OWN BATTLES — Dean (Jensen Ackles) helps Jenna (guest star Laci J. Mailey), the nurse he met after the Darkness fell, get back home safely and then sets off to help Sam (Jared Padalecki) deal with a town infected by a mysterious and deadly gas. However, when Jenna falls into dangerous hands, she calls Dean for help and Sam tells him to go back to her. Unfortunately for Sam, he isn’t able to handle the townspeople turned monsters as easily as he thought. Phil Sgriccia directed the episode written by Andrew Dabb (#1103). Original airdate 10/14/2015.
Ep 2:
Superior Nebraska. Man wandering with one shoe on. Zombie. Someone's in the hardware store getting supplies. Sam? Lots of dead in the street. Zombie goes toward a broadcast. Phone in a bucket. Sam asks if he can talk. "What?" He shocks the guy. Good answer.
Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Dean in the Impala. Stops at a house. Jenna's grandmother's. Nice neighborhood. She hands him Amara so she can get a bag. She says this place feels safe. You're so great with the baby. He says chicks dig me. LOL. You're going to be okay. She asks if he and Sam will be? She hugs him and thanks him. Grandma comes out.
Grandma says she saw the freak storm on the news. Tells Jenna she needs a nap. Made up the bedroom and got your father's crib out. Go upstairs, missy. Jenna does. Grandma puts Amara in the crib. Leaves the room. Amara waves her hands and a box falls on the floor. Whoa.
Sam takes some pills. The infection is in his neck veins. He talks to the guy he tied up. How long have you been infected? Answer the question. I want to know everything. Man asks what's in it for me? I want something real. Something I can hold in my hands. Like what? Pudding. Sam tosses it to him and he eats. Sam was infected last night. you? This morning. Why are you further along? Don't know. Some change fast, some change slow, but we all end up the same. We go psycho and we go boom. Sam says I'm going to fix this. The man calls him a liar. You and me are dead. We're just taking our sweet time about it. If you're smart, you'll put a bullet in me then eat one yourself.
Dean in the car. Trying to call Cas.
Angel destroys the phone. Slaps Cas. Cas asks what's happening? I asked for help. They say crap happens. Cas says I'm cursed. You should run.
Jenna's asleep. There's a banging noise. She goes into the hall. Grandma is up, too. Blocks are floating above Amara. The sticking to the wall. She's crying. They spell Feed Me. WHOA.
Grandma pulls Jenna out of the room. Jenna calls Dean. He turns around and speeds back to the house. Then calls Sam. Sam says he's fine. Just help Jenna. Dean asks how are you doing? Good. Great.
Cas being tortured. Where's Metatron? Cas doesn't know. Pleads for mercy. Angel asks what are you? I'm an angel of the Lord. Angel says you choose the Winchesters every time. Tortures Cas again. But he won't kill him. Fun is just getting started.
O Death song. Sam hearing a woman singing. She's kneeling by a dead man. Hey, Sam. How do you know my name? Who are you? She says think you mean what. You and your brother have been real good for business lately. He says you're a Reaper. What's your name? He says he's sorry about Death. So is she. But there's still work to do. It's over. What's over? You and Dean, dying and coming back again and again. The old Death thought it was funny. But now, there's a hard rule. What dies, dies. You're not going to Heaven or Hell. One of us will toss you into the empty and nothing comes back from that. I know you're dying. I can feel it. You're unclean in the Biblical sense. So I'll be seeing yo again, Sam. Seeing yo real soon. Name's Billy, by the way.
Angel asks Cas about Metatron again. Cas doesn't know. He says Metatron tricked me. So you're stupid. Or lying. Only one way to find out. What should we cut off first? Door shakes and glows. That's enough! Hannah in a male body. This isn't how we do things. Get out. Out! Cas thanks Hannah. Don't thank me, yet. Something's happened, Castiel. Something horrible.
Sam looks at his neck again. Heads to the chapel in the hospital. Sits. Talks to God. Dean and I, we've been through a lot of bad, but this is different. This is y fault and I don't know how to fix it. If I have to die, I've made my peace with it, but Dean deserves better. Dean deserves life. There are good people out there that will suffer because of me. I don't know if you're out there, but if yo are and you can hear me, I, we need your help, God. We need to know there's hope. We need a sign.
Sam flashes to the Cage torture. What does that mean?!!!
Dean arrives. Where's the kid? Jenna says we have another problem. Grandma called her priest who sent over an exorcist. Crowley! Hello, my son. Dean's face.....
*Season is starting strong. Feels right.
You know each other? Crowley says Dean was a rather scrumptious young altar boy. Dean asks to talk outside. Crowley says of course. After I finish my tea. Ooooooo.
Hannah gets Cas in a chair. I wasn't lying about Metatron. I know. But I'm more worried about you. Cas asks can you heal me? She can't. Sorry, it's powerful magic.
Crowley and Dean outside. Crowley's here same as you, working the case.
Hannah says alarms have been sounding in Heaven. Alarms for the Darkness.
Amara's crying again. Jenna goes in the room.
Cas tells Hannah that the Darkness is real. It's free. God help us. I wouldn't count on that.
Jenna soothes Amara.
Hannah asks where is the Darkness? I don't know. Do the Winchesters? Where are Sam and Dean? Cas doesn't know. How did you find me?
Crowley has sources in the Catholic church. They hear about a possession, they call me.
Grandma fills the kettle again. There's a thump upstairs.
Cas thinks Hannah told the angels to hurt him so Hannah would burst in and save him and he'd tell them anything they want to know. Why, Hannah? We were friends. Hannah says the other angels hate you. Cas asks what about you? Do you hate me? Other angels say it doesn't matter. We took a vote. Cas says I won't give you Sam and Dean. They says sure you will. we're going to hack your brain.
Jenna startles her grandmother. She's not right. Grabs a knife. Honey, you alright? Jenna says I always wanted to try this. She attacks her grandma. Dean runs in after a scream and her throat is slashed. Crowley says Hello, plot twist.
Cas tortured. Hannah says stop. Angel attacks Hannah. Cas bursts free and kills one. The other angel kills Hannah. Cas fights with him. Kills him. Cas drops the angel blade. He's horrified.
Sam drops a mug. Infection is in his head. He's hearing things. Goes to his laptop. Biblical purification. holy oil. Which is in the duffel bag. He lights some oil on gauze and holds it to his skin. The infection burns out of his skin. It's the cure!
Dean looks for Jenna. Crowley says go ahead, let them know we're coming. LOL. Amara cries. Dean goes to her. She smiles at him. He finds the birthmark. Remembers. Crowley says you're very maternal. Dean says We gotta find Jenna.
Music draws the infected to the hospital. The chapel. Sam lights a ring of holy fire. The infection burns out of them, too. They collapse. Fire goes out. Woman thanks him. Let's go save the rest of them.
Crowley and Dean hear breaking porcelain. Jenna shattering her grandma's angel statues. Why did you cut her throat? Crowley says this woman doesn't have a soul. What? Jenna says Amara is hungry. She's a growing girl. Dean tells Jenna we can fix it. Jenna says I like the new me. She struggles against Dean.
Amara gets up as a child. Puts clothes on.
Crowley knocks Jenna out. No, he killed her. You're welcome. Crowley says he's going to see the child that eats souls. Dean says he thinks Amara is the Darkness. Crowley says so what, you kill her? You can't. I saw the way you looked at her. I can do it. Won't be my first. After I'm done with her. You and Sam don't understand - I'm not your bloody sidekick! Because we've had some good times, I'll give you one chance to walk out that door, or I'll take you apart atom by atom. Dean attacks Crowley and sticks him to the wall with an angel blade. Bastard! Dean goes down the hall. Amara's not in the crib anymore. And Crowley's gone.
The bunker. Sam and Dean come home. Dean updated Sam. We gotta get a maid. One with a little uniform and really big-- There's a noise. They find Cas. Help me.
Amara the little girl wanders barefoot in a town. Crowley pulls up. Haven't you grown into a sweet young thing? Want some candy, little girl? 3 tied up women in the van to eat. Amara grins.
