DON'T YOU FORGET ABOUT DEKE ON AN ALL-NEW EPISODE OF ABC'S 'MARVEL'S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D,' WEDNESDAY, JULY 8
"The Totally Excellent Adventures of Mack and The D" - After being unexpectedly stranded in 1982, Mack retreats to his childhood home to process the death of his parents, while Deke gets to work scouting a chart-topping group of new agents. With no idea if or when the team is coming back for them, time seems to finally be on their side ... at least until the killer robots show up, on "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," WEDNESDAY, JULY 8 (10:00-11:00 p.m. EDT), on ABC. Episode 7:
Deke getting interrogated by May. He says you wouldn't believe me if I told you. She says try me.
River's End, 1982. Hey, the nerd from Revolution! Preppy guy, Chip Womack. They went to River's End High in 1968. Chip needs his computer working ASAP. It starts printing once it's plugged in. Will you help me? Y/N. Nerd presses Y. I have been waiting for you. Who are you? More printing. It's Sybil's face! I am Sybil.
Deke gets to Mack. The Zephyr is gone. We're stranded! Mack just needed a minute. We're in 1982. Mack was 10. He thinks the mission is over. Coulson's explosion should've ended it. Mack says the past...is sacred. Deke is sorry he lost his parents. Mack yells at him about taking the life. Ripples. Not waves. Remember? Deke still thinks about his dead parents, too, every day. If you want to talk, I'm here. Mack gets on his bike and starts it. Tells Deke to figure it out and leaves.
Mack takes flowers to a grave. John and Lilla Mackenzie. Caresses the gravestone. Crying.
Blue car pulls up at a house. Kids get out. Don't forget your bags. Mack watching them. He has a box with a model car. Rides away.
Computer store closed all week. Sybil talks to Russel through the electronics he put together. She thanks him for returning her voice. He says her blueprints are light years ahead of anything he's seen. She wants him to make her flesh. She's confident they'll makea perfect pair.
Mack enters a house. Builds a 67 Corvette model. Paints it. There's a knock. Deke with a grocery bag. With a ball? Deke checks the fridge. He hired a dude to find Mack. Mack tosses the ball out the open door. Then closes and locks it on Deke.
Mack drinking while watching TV. It's New Year's Eve and his beard is long.
Scruffy Mack still building model cars. And drinking.
Deke's groceries don't get used.
Mack's place is a mess of empty bottles and cans. He gets up from his recliner and sees the note Deke slipped under the door. Swayze's Bar tonight.
Russell brought Sybil flowers. She's a robot now. Half Cylon, half Johnny 5.
Mack shows up to the bar. It's packed. He asks the bartender about Deke. The D. She says every person here came to see him. Band just came out for the encore. Deke at the mike. I wrote this song. Mack needs a drink. No he did not! Stole it from The Breakfast Club soundtrack. You're not Simple Minds or Billy Idol, Deke.
**Don't you......forget about me....Don't, don't, don't, don't you.....
May says stop. A band? Can't wait to hear the rest.
Deke singing the song. Mack isn't drunk enough to put up with this. Okay, this has different lyrics in the verses. That's weird. Band is the Deke Squad. Mack's seen enough. Crowd sings along. Deke finds Mack before he leaves. Hugs him. Mack snaps at him about stealing from the future again. Deke offers to give him merch. Mack says I came because you said it was important. Deke says the band is a cover, Director. Roxie Glass. Tommy and Ronnie Chang. Olga P chenko. Cricket is the drummer. He sells coke. Deke has never seen him drink any. Deke says think about the practical applications of a band. Mack says your friends are a long way from being SHIELD agents. Deke says they've picked up enemy chatter. But we can't talk here. We have to fall back to HQ.
In the Lighthouse. Changs are happy to meet Mack. Deke tells them to tone it down. Mack yells at them about this being a top secret facility. Deke says Coulson seems fine with it. Coulson's mind is on a hard drive. Deke has him on a TV. Like Max Headroom. Coulson says he's done some real soul searching here. It's good you're here, Mack. Sybil is still out there. The head Chronicom. She predicts the future with time streams. Coulson says Sybil slipped into the local power supply. She's building new hunters.
Russell comes home and sees Sybil building another robot. Was I not enough? You can't leave me! We've been through too much together. Sybil agrees. You know too much. Another hunter bot comes at him. Russell is killed with a drill through the chest.
**So, since we see May getting caught up, the team finds Deke or Deke and Mack. How long does it take?
Coulson and Mack. Cricket used to play home videos in Coulson's VCR slot. Coulson says isolating yourself isn't healthy. You need your friends through the rough patches. Move back in.
Deke wants Mack to observe the team going through the training gauntlet. Let's do this. Beware enemy hostiles and engage with deathly force! Paintball. Chang Gang, go go go go. Olga's demo explodes. Cricket thinks they're shooting a video.
Mack and Deke. Deke shows him the shotgun ax. Chrome. Mack says no. Bad idea. Deke says you've been on the bench long enough. Mack insults them. Deke says don't talk about my team that way! Mack isn't impressed. Deke says they have my back. They don't give up on me, like I didn't give up on you. Mack didn't ask for that. So, he leaves.
Hunters enter. Invaded the Lighthouse.
Cricket has a girl. There's a noise. they investigate. She wants to go back to his room. Shadow of a robot goes by. They find it. It says it's lost. She asks what its name is. It attacks Cricket with a saw blade through the chest.
Roxie comes after Mack to tell him off for being mean to Deke. Mack doesn't care. She says It's not me to feel sorry for. It's that kid of yours. What? Looks just like you. Deke checks in on the brothers every couple weeks. Even got the kid a drum kit. Mack didn't know. She says of course not. You left that kid. Why do you care? What's that robot doing here? Exterminate......
**So it's a Dalek now LOL.
**Aww, Deke looking after little Mack. Well, he's annoying, but he's got a good heart. It's the Simmons in him. Are they being raised by an uncle? Driver of the car earlier looked that way.
Deke and the Changs. We need Mack. Every team needs a good leader and I'm too much of a dreamer. He tells Ronnie he didn't write those songs. Not even Walk like an Egyptian. Cricket's girlfriend runs in. Then gets killed, too. Blood spray. Olga goes after it with a knife.
Search and destroy. Mack peeks out of a room. Deke was right. He and Coulson believe Sybil was building an army. He tells Roxie they killed my parents. She's sorry. Me, too. Somewhere, somehow, someone's going to pay.
Olga almost dies. Roxie kills the Hunter bot. Deke is happy to see Mack came back. Never should've left. Clasp hands. Olga says they need to kill the head robot. Mack has some ideas, if the team will have him.
He trims the beard. Suits up. And gets the shotgun ax. No idea where the bots went. Coulson wants to be in the planning circle. He has a theory. Why would Sybil attack the base? The time stream must be here.
Bot finds a little glowing box.
Mack shoots at the bot. Team puts the bot through the gauntlet. Roll it on dynamite. Blow up from the bottom. Changs impressed. Another bot arrives. More metal from the scrap heap. It's Sybil. She's made preparations. Shoots Olga with a red laser beam. The red light swinging left and right isn't just lights, apparently.
**Is Sybil only in this robot body or does she have redundancy for her mind in 1983? If she's wholly in the bot, they can end her with destroying that. But it would be naive for her to not be backed up.
Running from Sybil while carrying Olga. Changs terrified. They run away. Roxie asks what now? Mack gives orders. Deke, make a distraction. He gets shot but they blow up Sybil. Deke's wound is minor. Nice work, Deke.
But there's a little bot that's carrying the time stream.
Drinking to the first mission. Changs tell Deke they're quitting. Deke's trying to convince them to stay. Hugs them. So what happens next? Mack says there's something we need to take care of.
Little Mack got straight As and cried reading Where the Red Fern Grows. Excellent book. Uncle Marcus's car. How are Reuben and I....you know. Deke says they're your parents. That pain doesn't go away completely. Your Uncle Marcus is great. I think you and Reuben are even closer in this timeline. Mack brought a model car box. Deke says it'll help. They walk to the house. You're a friend from my band. What instrument do I play? Harmonica? No, I'm a sax man all the way.
Zephyr lands. 27 days until the rendezvous. May and YoYo. Mack's okay. We have his location. 20 months since..... No one should have to go through that alone.
Lighthouse. They look for Mack. YoYo hugs him. May catches up. YoYo was worried. Mack says I'm getting better. May tells Deke good to see you. You too, Coulson. Simmons gave orders to find your hard drive. Said it's our most important asset. He wants a new body. May says you'll have to wait and see. He says that's cold, May, even for you. LOL. Mack's agents look more professional now. He brings YoYo over for introductions.
The little bot on the dirt road. Finds stairs. Continuing on. Past a train. Back to Russell's shop? Ah hell, it's Nathaniel. And Sybil is on a TV screen. She gave him the time stream!
