“Through The Valley Of Death”
DAVID RAMSEY (“ARROW”) GUEST STARS – Lois (Elizabeth Tulloch) and John Henry Irons (Wole Parks) can’t seem to agree on the best way to stop Morgan Edge (Adam Rayner). Meanwhile, Jonathan (Jordan Elsass) encourages Jordan (Alex Garfin) to focus on strengthening his powers to help locate their dad. Lastly, an old friend is brought in to help with the search. Elizabeth Tulloch, Jordan Elsass, Alex Garfin, Inde Navarette, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Erik Valdez, Dylan Walsh, and Wole Parks also star. (#112). Episode 12:
Metropolis. Irons waiting outside an Institute. Returns to his motor home. Welcome back, sir. Tries the residence. 25 yards due east. She's the passenger in the taxi on your left. If you wish to connect with your younger sister, now is your chance. Lois calls.
Clark struggling. Edge says perhaps you've never felt pain. This process will be excruciating. All you have to do is submit and your suffering will cease. Submit! You rejected me for THEM. So be it. But not even Superman is strong enough to resist the will of Zod. Oh damn!
Lois puts the phone down. Hears the boys talking. He's going to be okay. Mom, he just took off with him. Said we'll never see him again. Lois says your dad has been in worse spots than this and he always gets through them. After 20 years, I know. Trust me. Your dad will fight and he will win. Go get some sleep. She hears a vehicle.
It's her dad. General Lane says we lost them. That place, his fortress, I know it's a secret, but we might want to start there. She says Edge has one in the desert. He adjusts the search grid. She tears up and he hugs her.
Morning. Smallville wakes. Lana and Kyle. Kyle has to go to the military for a mandatory check-in. Sarah wants him to stay home and rest. He says he needs to get back into the normal of work. Doorbell. Officer. Something wrong? Some of the guys are concerned, Chief. You vouched for Edge and people are angry. She gets it. But maybe give people a minute to cool off. I'm sorry.
Johnathan and Jordan. Jordan isn't hungry. And DOD has nothing. John says you heard Dad and we found him. Dad can hear all the fluctuations and frequencies. You can do it, but you have to believe you can do it. Let's find a spot. Come on. You can do this.
Irons arrives. Talks to Lane and Lois. Updates him. Lois says Superman wanted me to contact you and stop Edge. We need your help for a rescue plan. Irons says Superman knows there's only one hope. I need to put him down to save this world. By any means necessary.
Lois says no! He's not giving up. Irons says Superman is trying to save the world. Lane says a tactical error.... Irons reminds them that it took 7 minutes to destroy his world. Lois pushes them to figure out how to find him! General Lane is amassing all weapons. Irons has more than Kryptonite.
Jordan thinks he heard as far as Australia, but he can't parse out the sounds. We've been at this an hour. Jordan gave Edge every bit of heat vision he had and Edge tosses it off and took Dad. John keeps trying to buck him up.
Irons has tech that can deplete a Kryptonian's power long enough to kill them. He drew Kal into space. And then a portal and he ended up here. Lane says you don't know it worked. Irons says it would have. Produce me one of these and I'll take care of the rest.
Sarah says it's like 1984 out here. Lana and Kyle ostracized. They blame Lana for the possessions. Emily tells them to stay away. Lois catches up. Edge is to blame. They'll see it eventually. Can I talk to you both in private?
Lois wants to know what it was like as a subject. Lana doesn't remember. Kyle says it came and went. What was that like? Like I was losing myself. I couldn't remember things. Picture my family. It hurt to push and see their faces. But you could fight back? Some. But there was an overwhelming sense my family would be better off if I let go. I almost did. Lois thanks them. This means more than you know.
Edge says not long now, Father. Kal's eyes are red as he fights. Images of his family. Cherished memories. Edge standing there waiting. He speeds off. Crashes in the desert.
Jordan listening.
Clark screams his name.
Jordan hears it!
**Zod is always a threat, but he also has weaknesses.
Jordan! Jordan! Where are you? The Badlands! Edge catches up and tells Jordan if you send anyone--
Lois sees John Diggle. Slow life didn't go as planned. Lane called Lyla and John brought the tech. They chew out Sam for lying. You can't kill Superman with ARGUS tech! Irons tech that ARGUS parts make possible. Lois tells them it's possible to fight back against Eradication! Diggle tells Sam they're going to have a serious conversation. The boys rush in.
Graffiti on the Cushing's home. Kyle's angry. All we did is try and help! Everyone assumes the absolute worst? This is-- Lana says they're wrong and they'll figure it out. All I care about is us. We'll get through this together as a family. Yeah? Okay. He goes inside to start fixing the house.
Jordan tells them Dad is in the Badlands. John says there's a second part. Edge said if anyone came looking, it wouldn't be Dad they'd find. Sam asks to talk to Lois alone. He has to prioritize this as a global threat. I'm sending John in. I'm sorry.
Lois goes to Irons. He knows what she'll say. She says you don't. You need to hear this. Our world is different from yours. Our Superman will never turn on humanity. You ask how I'm sure. I'll answer that now. The reason I know how much Superman loves humanity is that he's everything to me. He's the love of my life, the father of my sons. John, Superman is my husband. Ooo, Iron's face.....
Clark Kent is Superman? And your boys. They didn't know until we moved here. I need you kknow Superman has a family to fight for. Irons says this doesn't change anything. She insists he won't give up. Worse case scenario, you won't hesitate. But I need you to believe in the possibility of hope. He says you called the wrong guy. But I won't hesitate. I watched you die. I lose Natalie. Millions died. I'm doing the right thing. She pleads. He's sorry.
John is done with the doppelganger other worlds life. Sam doesn't have that luxury. Oliver and the others would say Superman is the best of us. Saving a hero must be an easy question. Diggle tells Irons you had a lot of courage to survive, but you need to make the right decision today.
Lana and Sarah trying to clean the paint. Kyle says your mom is always right. Takes paint thinner and good old American muscle. Sarah sprays him with water. Turns into a family water fight in the yard.
Jordan and John find Lois. Are we too late? I don't know.
Kal doesn't look good. Edge says no one can fight forever. Kal's eyes light up. The hologram appears. Superman stands. Zod speaks. Now we can complete what we came to do. General Zod.
DOD finds the desert fortress. Tells Irons they're a go. Irons prepares. Johnathan comes in. I'm Johnathan Kent. Your RV was parked at our farm. I saw a lot of videos. You, my mom, my dad, your daughter. You seemed like a really good dad. The guy you're about to kill is a really good dad, too. Irons wishes there's another way. Johnathan says there's always another way.
Irons in the suit on site. With his hammer. Superman arrives. Rushes Irons and knocks him back.
Irons vitals are fine. But he flew through space before landing elsewhere. Is Superman....? He's been turned. Zod says none of you can stop this. Zod hits Irons again. Lane authorizes Irons to kill. Lois says he has to get through to him or they're both dead. They need to use the solar missile on Edge. Irons armor at 57%. Lois says you can't beat him. Make him remember who he is. Irons fights back with his hammer. Rocket armed. She pleads. John, he's still in there! I promise you can get through to him. Kal's saying save them. I can't stop. Irons drops his helmet. Lois and your boys still believe in you. I know what it means to lose the people you love. The pain you feel now is nothing compared to losing them. Do not let that bastard take you from your family. Fight back, dammit! Fight!.
Clark remembers all the love with Lois. He screams and passes out. Then opens his eyes. Panting. Irons offers a hand up. Then says we got him. He's back. Lois asks if he can hear her. Superman? I'll be back soon. First I have to deal with Morgan Edge.
**If you watched Supergirl in the past, Superman had been turned before. Though their excuse of it working in that case is that he was more human than Kara because he was raised on Earth. That his mind was weak in some way. She fought her cousin and appealed to him until he came back.
Edge hears. He's gone. For good. Kal El? Zod. Hologram says it's time. It's time! You had one mission and veered from it because you're weak. Complete what you were sent here to do or know you're the sole reason Krypton is lost. Edge grabs the Eradicator.
Irons and Superman chasing him. Irons has the target locked. Ready for launch. Edge beaming on the Eradicator.
He lands on Earth. Superman lands next to him. You could've ruled with me as my brother. Instead, I'll bury you in the ashes of this world. Kal slugs him, knocking him out. Irons lands.
Lois and the boys. Waiting. Hear a sonic blast. Jordan smiles. It's him. Superman lands at the house. Hey. Lois rushes to kiss him. The boys grin. They hug. You did good. It was his idea. John asks how you broke free. Clark remembered what he was fighting for. And had a little help. Irons lands. John, you've met our kids before. Nice to do this under better circumstances. Johnathan shakes his hand and apologizes. Irons tells them Edge is locked up and won't hurt anyone again. Lois suggests dinner. Irons leaves them to family time.
Cushing house. The youngest returns. Dinosaur pancakes for dinner. Sarah hugs Sophie. Anything happen when I was gone? Nope. Things are boring when you're not around. Lana says we're going to be okay.
Leslie Larr is missing. Sam says she'll be in custody by the end of the week. Then we pack up and you and this town can breathe again. Lois knows he was doing his job. Sam wanted to say he's proud of her. Your faith made the difference. Glad you're better, Clark. I won't doubt you again.
Edge in Kryptonite. Hearing voices.
