Man comes home. Gets a beer, and a knife is missing. He grabs a bat. No one in the bedroom. Then he's stabbed from behind.
Espo and Ryan in therapy. They're still arguing about Ryan accidentally shooting Espo in the butt. She recommends that they split as partners. They don't want that. She says use a buffer.
Castle says tomorrow is our 1st anniversary and I want to create a little surprise for Beckett. They admit they need someone to be their buffer. They'll help with his surprise.
Murder scene. Lanie says there are 9 entry wounds. The weapon was left there. Espo and Ryan arguing again. Castle suggests role playing to each other's POV. Lanie says she got a hit on the prints.
Kate sees a calendar reminder that tomorrow's her anniversary. Ryan and Espo tell her about the case. Anton and the victim fought repeatedly over women. Hayley arrives for the stolen painting. Kate tells her where. Hayley says it's nice Rick is working cases again. Ooops. Ryan says he's our buffer. And that's our suspect. They are confused how Scott beat up that mountain of a man. Kate says good luck on the interview. Ryan asks her to do it with her. Castle takes Kate's office to set up the surprise.
Anton's very loud. Kate shows him a picture of Scott McCoy. Your fingerprints are all over Scott's apartment. Anton weeps that they're friends. "Oh Scott...."
Castle has confetti and a banner in the office.
Anton says he was the wingman. Scott would come to the girl's "rescue". Scott was into married women. He paid me not to ask.
Espo tries to distract Kate. Ryan says we'll look into Anton's alibi. Ryan says we should get Anton with a sketch artist. Castle sneaks out of the office. Kate goes in there. Castle peeks. Happy anniversary box. With a balloon. Have dinner with me tomorrow? She says this is very sweet, very you, but I don't think that'd be a good idea. She'd love to, you have no idea how much, but I'm worried it'd be unfair. No matter how great dinner would be, I still need the time out. He just wants to have dinner. She says she'd love to. Vikram brings in the financials. The payments line up when Scott picked up women. Vikram rented an expensive place a year ago. What was he in to? Confetti goes off. And the banner. Surprise..... LOL.
Ryan and Espo and Castle at the fancy apartment. Drawers are empty. Espo says maybe this is where he was sleeping with the married women. Castle suggests they write down comments instead of blurting them out. Espo finds a hidden camera. It's wifi enabled. Ryan prints a photo at the printer. Tattoo on the woman. Anton's sketches came in.
Vikram tells Kate that going to dinner is a mistake. She knows the risk. Espo says we got something.
Annika Smythe. She's going through a nasty divorce. So are two other women. They even hang out together. Going to a spa date, even. They band together to kill Scott for ruining their marriages. Kate says you have no proof. Espo says we need to get them on something before they scatter. Kate needs a partner to go to the locker room. Hayley. How about a day the spa?
Spa. The ladies arrive. Kate and Hayley go in the steam room. Hayley suggests getting a tattoo. The ladies say Ivan's a genius. Kate is recognized. Fine. What were your relationships with Scott McCoy? We've got something on one of you. A tattoo on your butt. Lady runs. Kate chases. Grabs the towel off her. Found the tattoo. Hayley wants the number of the tattoo artist. LOL.
Ryan getting Hayley's statement. Espo, too. Kate gives her a voucher for the painting. Espo and Ryan tattle on each other. Castle went home. She says figure this out. Ryan's writing.....Espo's writing......LOL.
Kate and the woman. Our husbands hired Scott to seduce us to divorce us. I didn't kill him. Kate says you were standing outside the building just before Scott was killed. She says the night we had together was special. I went to confront him, but he confessed and apologized. Something upset him on his last job. He'd screwed over a good person and wanted to make it right. Espo says Nancy's driver confirms Scott was alive when she left. Ryan says all the husbands used the same lawyer. Kate will talk to the DA in the morning. Espo and Ryan ponder. Ryan suggests a seduction of our own.
Tell Castle to pose as a divorce client. Martha doesn't think it's a good idea. Alexis asks what do you want him to do? Castle would need to look at the lawyer's log book.
He goes to see Lindsey Trent. She takes him to her office. He's wearing camera glasses.
Kate asks what are they doing? What are you watching? She sees the live stream. Ryan says we were trying to protect you. She says this could blow the entire case!
She watches Castle, though, in her office. Lindsey says you get to choose how this ends. Are you set on divorce or is there still hope? Castle asks for some water. And spills it on her desk. Lindsey leaves to get some towels. Gets a call. DA office was trying to get a warrant for my client log, and that's your wife! Castle is thrown out of the office. Alexis takes photos of the log. In and out as the mailroom girl. Ha!
George Keller is the new suspect. He's used Scott's service before.
Keller is interrogated. Your wife recognized him. Lindsey arrives. Kate asks what's going on here? Lindsey gets mad. Kate counters. Keller says my wife and I are renewing our vows next weekend. And I'm giving her a $2 million ring.
Kate asks Espo and Ryan to tell her about Keller's alibi. Kate says her gut is hiding something. Castle offers to put some feelers out. Says Ryan and Espo will work it out. They they hear them yelling at each other. They want new partners! We can't leave them like this. Rain check on dinner?
Castle talks to Ryan. Kate talks to Espo. She says a strong relationship can survive anything. Castle says no relationship survives secrets and lies. They both say you need to apologize. And let it go. Ryan and Espo say they can't.
Castle gets a call from Francis. George is involved in a fight with Penelope, his mother. He hired Scott.
Kate talks to her. She had no idea her son hired Scott. George wants to send manufacturing overseas. She considers their people family. Kate says Scott wanted to change his ways. She says I couldn't find my card key to the office. Maybe Scott took it?
It was used that night. Espo says it doesn't match the facts. Scott left at 11:40. Keller left at 3am. Kate asks Espo to get phone records.
Espo and Ryan talk to the law firm. Espo with Lindsey. You're under arrest for the murder of Scott McCoy. She says that's crazy. Espo says tell it to the judge. We're looking through your apartment right now. Blood residue can be a stubborn SOB. She points a gun at him. Espo says if you pull that trigger, you go away forever. She shoots and Ryan jumped in front of Espo. Kevin's out on the ground.
Ryan gasps. I'm okay. The notepad stopped the bullet. Espo says you saved my life. They chase after Lindsey. She falls down the stairs.
Kate with Ryan and Espo. She says they picked up George at the airport. Lindsey confessed they were in on it together. Kate asks if they need those new partner requests? No. Espo hugs Ryan. Kate gives them a moment. Ryan asks him to come over and watch UFC.
Kate shows up at Castle's flat. Brought takeout. He kisses her. She says this doesn't mean.... He knows. Time in? Yeah. They kiss. Went to bed. She says when you were in that lawyer's office, I was watching. When she asked you if there was hope and you didn't say anything.... He says I've never given up hope. That will never change until you tell me it should. She says then never change. Ever. She says I have to go. She takes her clothes into the bathroom. Phone buzzing. Castle looks at it. Text says get somewhere private ASAP. He tells her I think your phone buzzed. Oh. Everything alright? She says yeah, fine. Kisses him and leaves.

DETECTIVE SLAUGHTER IS BACK...AND THE STAKES COULDN'T BE HIGHER, ON ABC'S "CASTLE"

"Cool Boys" - Detective Slaughter (guest star Adam Baldwin) returns to enlist Castle's help in solving a high-stakes robbery case. But when a body is found linked to the crime, Slaughter becomes the number one suspect in the heist turned murder, while Castle has to determine whether he's guilty or help to prove he's innocent. Cars pull up with armed men. Police. Espo says expect the worst. These guys are beyond dangerous. They enter the building. Find Castle and
This morning. Castle's moping in his office. Martha offers advice. She's writing a book on unsolicited advice. Have faith. Things work themselves out. A little time apart is just what you need. Castle wants a distraction.
Alexis watching the news. Ethan Slaughter walks in. She says she'll tell her dad. She goes in. Castle isn't happy about it. He says he can handle it.....he's not interested...peeks out, and Slaughter spooks him. LOL. We've got some business to discuss. Martha says the last time you did business together, he was on anti-anxiety meds for a month! Slaughter is working on the burglary in the big shiny building. Thought Sherlock could help him out. Castle says my schedule is full. They concur that he's swamped. Slaughter offers stories for Castle's next book. Martha says be strong, Richard. Castle runs after him.
Lanie at the crime scene of Victor Lee. Stabbed last night. Ryan says the last person the vic called was Slaughter. He walks in with Castle. Got any leads? Ryan asks what they talked about. Slaughter says Victor was my CI. Espo says keep us in the loop on every move you make. Slaughter agrees. Then tells Castle he's not sharing.
They talk to a woman. Victor said he was going to come into big money. They were going to move to CA. Castle asks Slaughter if Victor was maybe involved. Given into temptation. She says Victor met with some guy named Trucco.
Precinct. Espo says there's a print from the murder weapon.
Slaughter found Trucco. Castle gets called. Ryan says Slaughter's prints were on the murder weapon.
**Wonder if we'll get Firefly references again.
Slaughter asks who you're talking to? Castle says my mom. Slaughter says that's the cops, isn't it? Castle asks why your prints were on the knife? Slaughter says I gave it to Victor as a gift. The only way to clear my name is to find the real killer. I have a lot of enemies. What I need is a friend, Sherlock.
Espo and Ryan arrive. Castle says Slaughter insists he's innocent. Seemed like he was telling the truth. They tell Castle to stay away from him. They leave. Castle lets Slaughter out. You were right, they didn't give you the benefit of the doubt.
They go to find Trucco. Slaughter asks about Beckett. Castle says they're on a time out right now. What happened? I don't know. She says she needs time. Slaughter asks if he's looking for a rebound, he knows a girl. Castle says no thanks. And this time, we're working on my rules. Slaughter agrees, then manhandles Trucco. Oooops. Then asks Mr. Trucco about Victor Lee. I strongly recommend you tell us what we want to know. Please, sir, tell us the truth. LOL. Trucco says Victor and his partner never showed. Castle says maybe Victor got greedy and the partner killed him for it.
Ryan has video of Victor right before the burglary. With a partner. Espo says Slaughter was reassigned because of an accusation of pocketing money. Maybe he needs Castle to help him find the microchip.
Hayley is in Castle's office. Slaughter calls her hot. Castle says please ignore him. She looked into Booth Tower. Top of the line security. Need a genius to break in. Victor was a mentor of Louis Prince, a juvenile delinquent with an IQ of 190.
Talk to a guy about Louis. He needed a strong male mentor to look out for him. Victor was his last shot. The counselor suggests Slaughter become a mentor. Castle coughs, lol. Victor was the first person Louis trusted since his mother. Castle and Slaughter leave when they see Ryan and Espo coming. They ask about Louis.
Castle on the phone with Hayley. Then Ryan. You lied to us? Ooops. Castle says Slaughter didn't kill anyone. Ryan says Slaughter got demoted. We think he partnered with victor. Slaughter says you should be going after the kid. He tosses Castle's phone out the window. I lose more phones in this line of work......lol.
They get to Louis, and find a guy who runs. Slaughter grabs him. Castle asks Louis about Victor. Louis runs. Castle chases, and loses him. I don't think he did it. He's scared. It's not the face of a killer. Slaughter says we're all killers when push comes to shove. He interrogates the guy. He works for David Lacey. High end B and E's. Slaughter brings Castle somewhere nice. His ex-wife's house. She's a mezzo-soprano with the Metropolitan Opera. We met in college. We had the same major. Musical Theater. And if you tell anyone, I'll force feed your spleen through your nose. Castle keeps imagining him doing jazz hands. LOL.
Ryan and Espo have to admit to Alexis and Hayley that Castle stole their car. LOL. Hayley says Louis didn't kill Victor, either. So David Lacey is our prime suspect.
Slaughter cooking. Castle's in shock. Slaughter says I do my best thinking cooking. Louis calls them. Victor said you'd look out for me. He hacked Slaughter's life and found them. Slaughter says tell us where you are, then hide. Castle spots a fumigation notice on the wall.
They go to the warehouse. Slaughter looks in a window. Victor is being interrogated. Castle says you don't have a gun! Slaughter says it's just one guy. He walks in and punches the guy. Louis points out all the guys behind them. Guess we should've called for back-up. You think?!
Castle snaps his fingers. Starts singing. Slaughter joins in. Fight scene! Police burst in. That all the guys you brought? All the bad guys are down.
Precinct. Slaughter and Louis sharing chips. Thanks for coming for me. Espo and Ryan walk in. Castle says Lacey's crew didn't kill Victor. Louis says Victor came to him with the idea for the theft. He didn't show up for the chip. Louis hands it over. When we were leaving the Tower, Victor deviated from the plan. Slaughter says that break-in was an advertisement for your invention. Castle says Victor was using you.
Booth arrives. A word in private? I'm a generous supporter of the NYPD. I want a favor. 50 million was taken from a private account of his. Do whatever it takes to recover it. They were kept in my office. The kid's a genius, right?
They talk to Louis. He says it wasn't me. Castle thinks he's telling the truth. Slaughter says he has a point. Did Victor? No. So, someone else broke into the building, too? Castle says maybe Victor saw something. Who else knew? Louis says Victor wedged the door open, but it was closed when we left. So that spooked Victor.
Castle says we're missing something, someone. Who knew about the heist and the secret account at the same time? Louis is being charged. Castle says the kid stood no chance. Ryan says the accounts were set up 5 years ago. Guess who worked at the accounting firm?
Mr. West, the counselor. Espo and Ryan say we know. You were Mr. Booth's accountant. You were fired for hitting on Mr. Booth's wife. You heard about Louis's invention, and convinced Victor to pull that heist. Took those bank codes. Mr. West says you're missing proof. Espo and Ryan have it. It's over, Mr. West. West says I panicked! I didn't mean to kill Victor!
Slaughter visits Louis in lock-up. Louis asks how much time am I looking at? Slaughter says maybe none. I'm going to personally see someone is looking out for you. Me. I'm going to get the DA to reduce your sentence to probation. Mr. Castle will help, or else. Some role model... You have a point. Guess we'll have to help each other. Sound good?
Castle is confused about Beckett. Slaughter says that lady has it bad for you. Whatever she's going through, she shouldn't have to go through it alone. Quit asking permission. I lost my wife because I didn't put my wife before myself. Don't make my mistake. Castle thanks him.

Alexis watching the news. Ethan Slaughter walks in. She says she'll tell her dad. She goes in. Castle isn't happy about it. He says he can handle it.....he's not interested...peeks out, and Slaughter spooks him. LOL. We've got some business to discuss. Martha says the last time you did business together, he was on anti-anxiety meds for a month! Slaughter is working on the burglary in the big shiny building. Thought Sherlock could help him out. "The Nose" - When a priceless work of art is stolen and its transporter murdered, Castle and Beckett must work with the key witness to track down the painting and sniff out the killer. With special guest star Stephanie Weir ("MADtv," "The Comedians").

Parking garage. Woman in her car. She swerves to avoid a man with a briefcase. She parks. She plugs her nose. She goes to the elevator. A shot rings out. She gets in the elevator and hears a second shot. Masked gunman gets in the elevator.
Rick comes home. Martha and Alexis already there. They're worried about him. He bought champagne for Ryan and Espo.
Kate asks them about the exam. They says shut up, you'll jinx it. Lanie says there was a call from an anonymous witness. The car was reinforced against bullets. Kate looks around in the car. Ryan gets a text from Tech. Address of the witness.
They ask to talk to her. If she doesn't let them in, they'll take her to the station. She goes with them.
Kate talks to the brother of the victim. Victim was a high-end driver. Kate asks what was in the secret compartment in the car. He doesn't know.
Ryan asks if he smells. The witness made complaints about their odor. He asks Kate to talk to her. She goes in. Witness says she heard 2 shots, then the guy in the ski mask rode the elevator with me. Woman says you had kale this morning. You're very sensitive to smell. Duh. Kate asks what the killer smelled like. Killer was carrying a briefcase he got off the dead guy.
Espo and Ryan got the results. Espo passed. Ryan didn't. Castle brings the bottles. Witness doesn't want to be driven home by Ryan and Espo. Kate tells Castle she was going to call. She needs to pick up the rest of her stuff. He says any time. Ouch. Witness tells him she clearly has the hots for you. I can smell it. He asks how heightened her olfactory acuity is. She says off the charts. He offers her a ride home in the Ferrari. Hayley gets out of the elevator.
Espo flirts with Hayley. Hayley says Falcon Unit transports stuff for wealthy clients. She wants in on the investigation. Item in the briefcase has an insurance policy and she's been paid to recover it. A Van Gogh lost since WW2. Whoa.
Kate asks what the sale of the painting wasn't on the internet. Hayley said it was handled privately. Kate will talk to the State Dept. Espo has a video of the killer. Freddy Stark.
Castle tells the witness about Beckett. He wants help to know when he's being charming vs. annoying. Witness says I'm not a people person and have zero interest in becoming one. Castle wants 5 minutes of her time. She says he has to be decontaminated. LOL. She consults for a perfume company from home. She goes into the office once a week. It's all she can handle. She says you ride the elevator with a sweaty killer. Castle says you could identify this guy, you just don't want to get involved.
Ryan tells Kate that Castle is on the phone and has a break in the case. Mia is a nose witness. She can ID him by his smell. Hayley says tells us something unique about his scent. Nail polish remover. And there was an old oil painting in that briefcase. Castle hangs up. Tells Mia we're going back to the precinct. With your help, the police can put away a killer. Isn't that worth a little sacrifice? Castle farts to get her out of the apartment. LOL!!
She's taken to the holding cells. She says he's not the killer.
So they talk to Freddie again. He was at the garage to retrieve the painting. He was hired by Falcon. He was told to do anything to get the painting back. He didn't get to the garage until 10:20.
Espo and Ryan. Talking to a guy at Falcon. Tell us why you hired Freddie? Justin stole it from us. He hired someone else. Justin jumped the job. Who's the real transporter? Liam, a British mercenary. Espo asks Ryan if they're good. Ryan congratulates him for passing. They spot Liam and he runs. Chase him into a basement. Separate. Shots fired. Ryan shoots Espo in the ass!!
Kate says they're monitoring Liam's car. Ryan will go help Vikram. Hayley says Liam will sell the car. She calls Castle.
Castle brings Mia home. Tells her she can help with this. You're hiding, not living.
Espo comes back to the precinct, limping with a cane. He's mad at Ryan. Hayley has Liam's phone records.
Kate and Hayley talk to Mr. Carter about the case. No idea where Liam is now. Didn't want the painting. But he did ask if I had interest in a used Rolls.
Castle goes to a shop. Spots a Rolls. Asks Mia to pop the trunk. Briefcase is in it. Mia starts the car. And gets Liam in the trunk without his gun. LOL.
Ryan and Espo arrive. Castle finds Espo's injury hilarious. They open the trunk.
Liam says it wasn't me. He aimed to miss, but you shot your own partner in the ass. "Assposito". LOL! Ryan orders him to sit. LOL. Espo says all the evidence points to you. Liam says he confronted Justin, Justin gave him back the painting, and Liam left.
Mia says I need food now. Hayley has the painting. Mia says that's a forgery. It's not the painting in the briefcase. So the real killer is out there with the real painting. Mia wants home cooking only that is steamed with zero seasoning.
Castle brings her to the flat. Martha is cooking. Mia recognizes her. I saw you perform in Pippin! Mia hated the production. But you, you're amazing. It was the best day ever. Martha hugs her.
Espo and Ryan dug into the painting. Painting claim was filed by someone we know.
Knock at Castle's. Man with a gun is at the door. Not the take-out.
Mr. Castle, you're coming with me. Martha says oh no he is not. Man tells Castle he's going to the precinct and getting that painting. It belongs to my family. Castle says I can't get that painting even if I try. Castle knocks the guy out, but also hit Mia in the nose. Oooops.
Kate shows up. Rick, are you okay? They hug. Kate says Lorenzo's not our killer. Lorenzo knows about the forgery. He says he's spent his whole adult life trying to recover that painting. Justin was helping him. Justin knew a guy who could provide the forgery. So the transfer took place before Liam arrived. What if Liam drove up, then leaves with the forgery, then the killer shoots Justin.
Kate and Castle go to the parking garage. What is that noise? Sounds like an AC unit on its last legs. Freon smells like acetone! Kate spots a strand of hair stuck to the wall. Smiles at Castle.
They talk to the brother again. Justin paid his tuition at the art school. But you're a lousy gambler. The hair at the crime scene is a sibling match. We have a warrant for your place. He didn't want to kill his brother, but he needed the money.
Hayley told the current owner the story and it'll go to the museum while Lorenzo's family works things out. She tells Kate you're not so bad for a cop.
Ryan tries to get Javi to forgive him. Alright. Ryan bumps his cane and makes Espo fall. Espo's mad again. So Ryan says let's be even and you shoot me in the ass right now! Kate says knock it off. Work it out, or you're going to therapy.
Castle brought paper flowers for Mia. So sorry for everything. She says don't. You were right, I haven't been living, and now I will. He gives her tickets to his mother's new play. She hugs him. You're easier to be around when I can't smell you. Thanks. She says Beckett still loves you with a passion and you don't need to measure pheromones to sense that.
Kate goes to the apartment. Grabs her clothes. Then smells one of Castle's shirts.
Castle comes home. Her NYPD shirt is on the bed. He smells it.

Ryan and Espo arrive. Castle finds Espo's injury hilarious. They open the trunk.
Liam says it wasn't me. He aimed to miss, but you shot your own partner in the ass. "Assposito". LOL! Ryan orders him to sit. LOL. Espo says all the evidence points to you. Liam says he confronted Justin, Justin gave him back the painting, and Liam left.
Mia says I need food now. Hayley has the painting. Mia says that's a forgery. It's not the painting in the briefcase. So the real killer is out there with the real painting. Mia wants home cooking only that is steamed with zero seasoning.
Castle brings her to the flat. Martha is cooking. Mia recognizes her. I saw you perform in Pippin! Mia hated the production. But you, you're amazing. It was the best day ever. Martha hugs her.
Espo and Ryan dug into the painting. Painting claim was filed by someone we know.
Knock at Castle's. Man with a gun is at the door. Not the take-out.
Mr. Castle, you're coming with me. Martha says oh no he is not. Man tells Castle he's going to the precinct and getting that painting. It belongs to my family. Castle says I can't get that painting even if I try. Castle knocks the guy out, but also hit Mia in the nose. Oooops.
Kate shows up. Rick, are you okay? They hug. Kate says Lorenzo's not our killer. Lorenzo knows about the forgery. He says he's spent his whole adult life trying to recover that painting. Justin was helping him. Justin knew a guy who could provide the forgery. So the transfer took place before Liam arrived. What if Liam drove up, then leaves with the forgery, then the killer shoots Justin.
Kate and Castle go to the parking garage. What is that noise? Sounds like an AC unit on its last legs. Freon smells like acetone! Kate spots a strand of hair stuck to the wall. Smiles at Castle.
They talk to the brother again. Justin paid his tuition at the art school. But you're a lousy gambler. The hair at the crime scene is a sibling match. We have a warrant for your place. He didn't want to kill his brother, but he needed the money.
Hayley told the current owner the story and it'll go to the museum while Lorenzo's family works things out. She tells Kate you're not so bad for a cop.
Ryan tries to get Javi to forgive him. Alright. Ryan bumps his cane and makes Espo fall. Espo's mad again. So Ryan says let's be even and you shoot me in the ass right now! Kate says knock it off. Work it out, or you're going to therapy.
Castle brought paper flowers for Mia. So sorry for everything. She says don't. You were right, I haven't been living, and now I will. He gives her tickets to his mother's new play. She hugs him. You're easier to be around when I can't smell you. Thanks. She says Beckett still loves you with a passion and you don't need to measure pheromones to sense that.
Kate goes to the apartment. Grabs her clothes. Then smells one of Castle's shirts.
Castle comes home. Her NYPD shirt is on the bed. He smells it.
