Jason in a world of gray. The dark is pulling him.
Then he's back. I can't fight it anymore. I'm at the rim of some dark force we don't understand. i could vanish any moment! Peggy suggests he build a containment chamber for himself. If you're tangible for a moment, could you do it? Yes. But we need more zero matter.
Cal asks Whitney if she's okay? No. Not at all. Cal arranged for the Council to meet with her. Took some convincing, but you're worth it. You need to be the one that addresses the Council on zero matter and all its potential. Everyone will be there tomorrow. Once they see what you're capable of, they'll give you all you want.
Jarvis bandaging Peggy. She's able to hobble around the room. She's going to dress then go down to the lab.
Sousa doesn't look good. Peggy asks if anything is the matter? She says Dr. Wilkes has lost his foothold here. We need to anchor him. We need him. Alright, what's the plan? She says he needs zero matter and I plan to get it from Whitney Frost. Mr. Jarvis has 2 tickets to the event. Sousa says you can't go. Whitney will peg you and Jarvis. You need a highly skilled unknown face that can blend in. Peggy has a terrible idea.
Dottie gets a visit. From Peggy in disguise. We have a lot to talk about.
Dottie says Peg, you're hurt. Real hurt. Peggy says we've received no contact asking for your release. Perhaps you should start decorating. Dottie says it takes more than 6 walls to hold me. You're going behind someone's back. How naughty. The reason for your visit is pretty obvious. You need my help.
Jason guiding Mrs. Jarvis in the work. Jason's nervous. So much can go wrong. Jarvis comes in asking where his cufflinks are. She drops the wire and excuses herself. Poor dear.
Peggy brought the pin. Asks Dottie why were you trying to steal this? Dottie says maybe that pin is not just a pin. Peggy will break her out of here. But we can work on negotiating your deportation. They're in agreement. Knowing what both really want and what the truth is. No window shopping. Peggy gives her a device to get out. When you get outside, go right. Peggy leaves. Dottie uses the device to unlock her cell magnetically. Guards are handled. Dottie gets outside. Goes left. Sousa nets her. Tases her. Peggy zaps her extra. Happy? Very.
Dottie wakes. Tied to a chair. And dressed. Under a hair dryer. Peggy offers a diamond choker. It has a tracking device, and if you attempt to break it, you'll die in 35 excruciating seconds. Jarvis comes in and asks about a firearm. Peggy says she'd only take it from you. Like the watch she just nabbed. Peggy turns the dryer on again while they argue. LOL.
Whitney says she can't go. Please reschedule. Something more private, please! I can't be seen in public like this. Cal gets an idea. Hands her a fascinator. She puts it on to hide the black on the side of her face. She thanks him. And will thank him properly later.
Peggy shows Dottie a photo of her target. Dottie's more interested in Jason. Peggy says you get a blood sample from Ms. Frost and leave. And no touching. Jason gives her the device.
Peggy and Sousa will listen from outside. Jarvis and Dottie dancing. Comms work. Jarvis spots Whitney. Dottie spots Jack. Wants to say hi.
Cal talking with Jack and Vernon about Communism. Whitney flatters Jack.
Dottie offers to kill Jack. Do not kill him! Jarvis wants to abort. Peggy says no. Complete your objective without being spotted by Thompson.
Jack and Vernon. Showing Jack who all the power players are. Only one conspicuous stain on your record. Vernon calls Hugh over. Peggy Carter. Jack had no idea. Vernon says she's disobeying your direct orders. You can't let a female subordinate make an ass out of you like this.
Jarvis got to Dottie again. Tells her to follow instructions and behave like a professional. Understood? Yes, sir, Jeeves.
Woman tells Jack he should smile more. Jarvis greets Jack. Dottie's heading upstairs. Jack asks where's Carter? Home, reading by the pool. Jack wants to secure the perimeter. Jarvis says you shouldn't cause a scene at your employer's party. Jarvis says you're out of your depths here. Swimming with sharks.
Dottie runs into Whitney. Underwood, do you have the sample? Static. She left the comm next to running water. Dottie's gone rogue! She hides in a cabinet in the boardroom. Cal thanks the men for coming. Whitney starts her speech. I was wrong about zero matter and I wanted to apologize. it's not about energy. This is about power, the kind of power that could bring the world to its knees. But why tell you when I can show you? She takes a rat out of a box and consumes it with the zero matter. The men are in agreement about how to proceed. Whitney is lassoed. She uses her power against the men holding her, then attacks the Council. The black veins spread. Cal says he's sorry and begs for his life. She consumes him, too. Dottie saw it all through the cabinet screen.
Whitney addresses the rest of the men. Tells Mr. Jones she needs full access to Roxxon facilities. And speak to Vernon. Then tells Hayes to fabricate a story to explain these disappearances. I've chosen you because you can be useful. Remain loyal and useful to me and I will bring you immense power. Jones is excited about this venture and eager to see where her leadership goes.
Jarvis looking for Dottie. Peggy wants to go in to help. But she's bleeding. You popped her stitches just trying to open a door. Daniel says it's not fun when your body quits on you, is it?
Dottie leaves the cabinet. Looks at the sample. Leaves the room. Vernon sees her. She runs.
Peggy asks if there's a problem with Violet. Daniel! He says she broke off our engagement. I messed up. Peggy wants to speak on his behalf. He says she broke it off because she thinks I'm in love with you! Peggy's apologetic. I came out here and mucked up your whole life. They lean in close.......and the van shakes. There's a dead man on the roof.
Dottie tossed him out the window. Jack finds her. And knocks her out. The sample tube is left on the carpet.
**Jarvis, get over there and find that sample!
Sousa says this is bad. Jarvis comes out. Where's Dottie? No idea. Jarvis did find the sample. Sousa says we need to get back to Stark's. Jarvis was tossed out by security. The party is over. Sousa says retreat is our only option.
Vernon is updated. Whitney is calling the shots now. Get that package to her tonight. Vernon tells Jack nice work. This is your girl, Carter. Underwood was sprung with the help of a female psychiatrist! Jack says if it was Carter, what is the angle? Vernon says you have to take her out. Destroy, discredit, disgrace, and subdue Agent Carter so all she's done becomes invalid. Jack is hesitant. Vernon says she's got something on you, doesn't she? Tells him to find leverage on her. If you can't take her down, then I have to question whether you're suited for command in this gov't.
Stark Mansion. Jason is grateful. He's got blueprints. Peggy says we'll have to look later. Dottie gave us the slip. Jarvis says it's Chief Thompson. Sousa tells her don't go. I'll cover for you. Peggy says she can handle Jack Thompson.
In the kitchen. Jack asks if she's heard of Dr. Catherine Wexford. Peggy does not. Jack says i know what you're doing, Carter. There's a flight back to New York and you're coming with me. There's no place for agents that can't follow orders. It's okay to be wrong. Just get on that plane. Peggy says I'm not wrong. I won't lose. Jack says you will, and when you do, you'll never see it coming. Good luck, Peggy.
Dottie delivered to Whitney in chains.
Episode 7:
Studios. Whitney in black with a veil. Addresses the press. Thanks her fans and studio family for their support in this difficult time. Last night, at midnight, Cal perished at see when his boat sunk off Catalina Island. Peggy and Daniel watch from the back. Whitney says I won't be broken by this tragedy. I'll come through this stronger than ever. Thank you. She leaves.
Peggy won't believe Dottie is dead until she sees a body. Whitney will try to use us against her if she can. Daniel says we should talk...about things. Yes. Right. Good. LOL. Awkward......
Vernon's going to torture Dottie. She says there's nothing in that box that will do anything other than bore me to tears. He cites a Nazi wife that liked to torture prisoners. I interrogated her and in less than 24 hours she told me everything I wanted to know. Dottie says I've pulled out my own teeth, nails, hair, and burned my own flesh. You are wasting my time. You're terrified. Afraid of that pretty blonde monster holding your leash. He injects her. Truth serum? You can't be serious.
Jason and Ana. She's assembling the containment cage. Connect the cables. He's phasing out again. It's happening more frequently. Peggy returns. Ana says we're running out of time. Peggy asks Jason how he is. Great. Jarvis says the transponder is repaired. No signal. Perhaps she's out of range. Jason says why? She's a Russian spy, a murderer. Peggy says she was acting under my orders. I won't abandon her. Jason says activate the kill switch. I'm facing worse than death! I'm sorry....I'm not thinking straight. I'm sorry.
Dottie's still defiant. Vernon says you're not as smart as you think you are. You were tricked into helping a crazy old Russian. Huge embarrassment to Leviathan. You're as good as dead to Russia. All alone in the world. But you actually believe you have a friend in Peggy Carter. It's pathetic. I almost feel sorry for you. Whitney summons Vernon.
To the pool deck. I have another task for you. Vernon isn't happy about Mr. Manfreddi here. She says I trust him and his men follow orders. She wants the rods stolen. The same rods from the original test. This is your priority, Vernon. Use any means necessary. I'll talk to Dottie Underwood.
She goes in the basement. Dottie says I'm not in the movie business, but I think you'll need a lot more make-up to cover that. Whitney's moved on from that. it's taken too much for too long. You know what that's like. Dottie says yes. We're so much alike. In the same boat. LOL. Whitney says we're not in the same boat. Not even the same ocean. She reaches for the necklace. I disabled the tracking device when you arrived. So don't expect Peggy Carter to come rescue you. She grabs Dottie's throat. Dottie screams.
Whitney lets go. What does Peggy Carter want? You. She told me to get a sample of your blood. Did you get it? Yes. Why? For her new boyfriend. Wilkes. He's a ghost. Things pass right through him. Whitney thinks that's fascinating. Congratulations, Miss Underwood. you're still useful to me.
Jason in te containment cage. They turn it on. Peggy gives him the zero matter. Jason touches the floor. His hands. it worked. It worked! He and Peggy kiss. Sorry. Been a long time coming. Peggy says it's quite alright. Ahem. Jason is starving. Ana will make him a true Hungarian feast. Is it any good? Jarvis says eh... Buzzer. We have a signal.
Peggy calls Daniel. Tells him about Jason and that Dottie's signal is in Newhall. He's in his office. Says gee, Mother, I'd really like to visit, but I'm swamped right now. Peggy figures Vernon is there.
Vernon asks if he's getting all the resources he needs. There's been a theft on your watch. Uranium stolen from Roxxon and you need to find it.
Peggy tells Jarvis that Daniel isn't coming. Jarvis says the signal is convenient. Peggy says we're walking into a trap. Oh.
Jarvis and Peggy leave the house. He has a jitterbug. A non-lethal device. You'll want to stand behind me. Then I enter the sequence and.....blast the lawn equipment. Ana brought him a darker jacket. Then hugs him. Everything alright? yes. Of course. He says you're worried. If you'd rather I didn't go.... No. She needs you, and you need this. But you must allow me to ring my hands from time to time. Jarvis promises no harm will come to him. She says don't make promises you can't keep.
Daniel still talking with Vernon. Vernon says you have a great story. Let this be your next chapter. It'll cost you time, money, maybe even a few friends. But people in Washington love a hero and a good yarn. Daniel says we'll do our best, but I wouldn't get my hopes up. Vernon will keep his expectations realistic.
Jarvis and Peggy in the car. She presses the brakes. Do you have something to say? he says no. She says he kissed me and I indulged it. He says you blushed. It does create a bit of a sticky wicket with Chief Sousa. And now his engagement is off.... I do not envy your position. Heehee. She didn't intend to encourage the affections of two quality suitors. It simply happened. Jarvis isn't surprised. She is. She doesn't know what to do. He resumes the drive.
Jarvis is stopped by security. Peggy knocks him out. Shot fired. Jarvis readies the jitterbug. And it doesn't go off. They're taken prisoner. And down to the basement. Dottie says what a nice surprise. LOL.
Ana brought Jason a meal. He's enjoying it. Salud. To Agent Carter and Mr. Jarvis, and their safe return.
Peggy asks where Whitney is. Dottie is snippy. Says Vernon questioned her. She breaks out. Better hurry, Peggy.
Jason asks Ana if she's alright. She moves her stool closer. Edwin didn't want me to know what dangers he faced. And now I miss the lie. But today, we have much to celebrate. Now you're whole again, what is your next step? Jason doesn't know. Isodyne was still 10 years away from unraveling zero matter's basic principles.
Dottie asks what's the plan after this is over? Put you in prison, of course. Jarvis's feet are loose. Dottie says your idealism blinds you, Peggy. Jarvis gets free. He realizes he entered the wrong code. For delayed detonation. LOL. Upstairs, no Whitney Frost. Dottie is still lying about being questioned. Peggy figures out that Whitney hurt Dottie. Dottie says you knew this was a trap. Of course. Peggy, the trap wasn't set for you.
Jason and Ana! Jarvis's alarm goes off at the house. Whitney is inside. She disarms it. And finds Jason. Examines Stark's inventions. Jason asks What are you doing here? She says last time we saw each other, that was quite an evening, wasn't it?
Whitney is impressed. You are very special, Dr. Wilkes. Zero matter is marvelous. Both fascinating in our own way. He says Peggy will be back soon. She asks what happens if he steps out of this? But I didn't come here to talk. your friend stoke from me and I need to take it back. She tries to use zero matter on him and he absorbs it. She pulls away.
In the car. Dottie says I've never seen you like this before. Scared.
Whitney says that stung a little. How did you do it? Do you feel different? Stronger? He busts out of the cage. She says it doesn't last, does it? Come with me. We both need zero matter. We can help each other understand it, control it. He says no one can control it! She says we can change the world. He says the world is fine as it is. She says you and Jane Scott were tokens. I want to change things for people who've been held back, ignored, held back. Manfreddi walks in. A colored scientist. Now I've seen everything. She says Dr. Wilkes will be accompanying us. She knows him out.
Sousa calls Ana. He's coming over. She hears voices. Sees them leaving with Wilkes.
Sousa is attacked at home! Beaten. Masked men leave.
Ana confronts them. Whitney says this doesn't concern you. Ana says he'll die if you take him. She won't stop coming for you. Whitney knows. Car coming. But I can slow her down. Shoots Ana. Whitney and Manfreddi drive away. Jarvis runs to Ana.
**Pretty sure Whitney shot Ana in a non-vital place, so she'll live with proper prompt medical attention. Ana was so brave to confront them without any means of defense.
Car to the hospital. Peggy tells an officer to not for the love of God open the trunk. Ana is wheeled into the OR. An Asian doctor? Someone calls for help. Officer shot. Dottie is gone. She left the necklace.
Sousa struggles into work. Gets up the stairs. Agents ask what happened? you alright? Vernon comes out of the office. Rough night? Any leads on the Roxxon materials? Daniel says not a thing. Don't think we'll ever find it. Vernon says that'd be a shame. You need rest. I'll be taking over, at least until you're back on your feet.
Carter calls into SSR. Vernon answers the office phone. She hangs up. Sits with Jarvis. Ana is still in surgery. They can't even say if she'll..... Peggy takes his hand.
Next week - 2 hours. Peggy looking for Jason. Jarvis wants revenge.
