Episode 1:

NBC is pissing me off again! Don't banish #Taken to summer TV!

In defense of Taken season 2

I'm a fan of the Taken movies. I'm a fan of Clive from his Vikings role as Rollo. I liked Season 1 of Taken.

Then NBC announced that season 2 would have a new showrunner taking the show in a new direction. Only the characters of Brian and Christina would continue on.

That news sucked since the end of season 1 had finally developed Brian's team into being actual characters. So, like anyone, I was skeptical about what Season 2 would look like.

But I liked Brian and Christina so I gave it a shot - and guess what? It's good. They got 2 new characters for the new team - Santana and Killroy - and they've developed all 4.

Plus Tahmoh Penikett is playing a quite intriguing adversary/villain.

Last week, we just got the setup for a spy war between Brian's team and Tahmoh's character's company, and now NBC decides to yank the show this evening?

Episodes 12-16 will air on summer Saturdays starting May 26.

Live Viewer ratings per season 2 episode (in the millions):

2.79
2.98
3.14
2.53
2.45
2.23
3.24
2.88
2.15
3.01 (8PM)
3.01 (8PM)

The show follows Blindspot and only premiered season 2 in January. Taken's live viewership doesn't lose much from its lead-in. Blindspot's last live airing did 2.93 million on March 30, so Taken even beat it in its own time slot!

So WTF, NBC? You toss the show to Fridays, it always keeps most of its lead-in's audience, and has been creatively solid all season, but you yank it off the Primetime schedule without notice? This is why no one trusts you anymore, networks!
