BRIDAL SHOWERS, BACHELOR PARTIES AND BEASTS — JT (Austin Basis) throws Vincent (Jay Ryan) a surprise bachelor party. Unfortunately, it is interrupted by a mysterious sniper with his sights set on putting a stop to Vincent and Cat’s (Kristin Kreuk) interference with the super human experiments. Cat’s family comes to town for a bridal shower arranged by Heather (Nicole Gale Anderson) but Cat is distracted by having to visit her imprisoned father (guest star Ted Whittall) to ask for his help. Ep 6:
A church. Cat and Vincent. He thinks it's beautiful, but he also thought the last 4 places were great. She says the boss is still out there. He says we agreed nothing would hold us back. Heather asks yes? No? Heather reminds Cat that there are a lot of people to invite. And their aunts came in a day before the shower to see Cat. Vincent chases after Cat. She asks if he's called his cousins. Not yet. He doesn't know what to say. Hasn't seen them since his brothers' funerals.
Vincent gets to JT's and Cousin Hank is there. Vincent's face, lol. Hank brought his sister's boys along. Lou and Damon. We're looking forward to meeting Catherine. JT couldn't get hold of Vincent's nephew because he's overseas.
Tess, precinct. She asks Cat what she's doing here. You're supposed to pick up your aunts. Cat thinks they missed something at Bob and Carol's . Tess says you need a better excuse. Heather calls. I have 2 aunts and no sister! Tess takes the phone and says Cat will be there in an hour. Go!
Bar. JT and Vincent watch the young cousins play darts. JT asks if he's mad? No, not at all. Hank brings over some fine liquor. JT remembers the Keller family softball games. Hank doesn't remember those. Must've been at law school at the time. A woman in a cop uniform shows up and says Vincent is under arrest. A stripper! Hank ordered her. Shots fired! Vincent runs outside. Everyone follows.
Some guy firing down from a fire escape. At the food cart guy? Vincent tells the others to stay back (around the corner). Vincent goes up there and confronts the perp. They fight. Another super powered man. Vincent knocks him out. JT calls out that Hank's been shot. In the leg.
Hospital. Hank's going to be okay. Vincent can't believe he let that happen. Cat says it's not your fault. This man seems to have been getting better. JT will test his blood. Cat thinks it's not a coincidence. Vincent says I wasn't the target. You're avoiding your mom's sisters. Cat says Bob and Carol's apartment had been cleaned out. Professionally.
JT says the guy is normal now. What happened with this guy wasn't the serum. It's a blood-born parasite. He contracted it a day or two ago at most. Whoever's behind this is accelerating things. Tess tells Cat to go home. Cat argues. Tess says this is an isolated incident. It doesn't take 2 cops to run a background check. Vincent makes a compromise.
Cat calls Heather. She's in the hallway. Doesn't want to come in. Heather says get in here, or I'll tell them you're engaged to a Beast. Heather opens the door and pulls Cat inside. The aunts say you look just like your mother. Can't imagine how much you miss her, especially at a time like this.
Vincent with Hank. He apologizes to Hank for being out of touch for so long. Hank says a lot changed here, too. He's married with a 4 year old kid now. I can't replace your brothers. That's life. Vincent says there's no need to compete. Hank says your father, your brothers were the real heroes of the family. Especially after the martyr thing. Vincent gets called to the ER.
Aunts show Cat a photo album. Cat has issues. Heather deflects. They go to the kitchen. Heather tells Cat to forgive and forget or start faking it. Aunts brought a memory lantern. You should write your mother's name. Cat says Mom didn't teach me calligraphy. She was too busy doing....other things. We'll all do it together. Phone rings. It's Vincent. Heather pours wine.
Vincent says the outbreak is happening. The ER is CRAZY.
Tess says every outbreak is in the 125th. Cat wonders what they're trying to accomplish. Tess says they're trying to find Patient 0. Tess says maybe they're trying to find Bob and Carol's killer. Cat doesn't know. She was relieved to leave. I couldn't hear another word about St. Vanessa. Heather doesn't know. Look at what Mom has cost Vincent and me by turning him into a Beast.
Vincent and JT. This is too close to home for my liking. JT recognized something. Nucleotide repeats. Proto-Beast DNA from 10,000 years ago. They're using the same mutation that made you, you.
He joins Cat. Vincent thinks they should see her father. She says no way. He says Reynolds may be our only hope of finding out who's using Proto DNA.
Reynolds notices the ring. Cat says this is not about me. Someone's using proto-beast DNA to experiment on people. Reynolds says someone's getting close to perfecting Vanessa's formula. He doesn't know who. Everyone he knows in this line of work is dead. Cat blames her mother and him. He says you shouldn't be mad at her. Cat is, and mad at you, too. But she's not around to answer for it. Reynolds says you could track the victims back to their source by blood. Use that, Vincent. And Catherine.....I gave you a box from your mom. Look inside. You might find some of the answers you're looking for.
She doesn't want to let Vincent go alone. Vincent says we promised this wouldn't get in the way of our lives. Cat says I can't pretend. People are getting hurt! He says there's nothing you can do about it right now. Go see your family. Don't let anything take that away from you.
Shower party. Heather asks Tess to get Cat back into the party. Cat's doing dishes. Tess says you're going to burn yourself out. Heather proposes a toast. If anyone deserves a happily ever after, it's Cat and Vincent. She thanks the aunts for coming from Albany. We wish Mom could be here, but she's in our hearts. She'd be so happy you found the love of your life. Cat starts ranting about her mother. Tess tells her don't do this. Cat tells Heather that Mom is the one that hurt Vincent, that did that to him. Understand? I'm glad she isn't here because I'll never forgive her for what she did. Ever. She runs out. Made poor Heather cry.
Cat in the coffee shop. Tess joins her. Give yourself a break. You had pent up emotions and it burst out. Heather doesn't hate you. She's your sister. You're a great sister, you just have a lot on your plate. That's why I tell you to live your life. Now that it's out, it's a good thing. Being mad at your mom shouldn't be one of your secrets. You have enough.
Vincent and JT. JT had proto-beast in his blood, too. Makes us blood brothers now, eh? Looks like.
Hank is being discharged. Vincent excuses himself for being absent. Hank is running for councilman and wanted to get help from the family hero. JT says you're something else. Vincent says we both know having the same last name doesn't make us family. Best of luck. I won't be voting for you. They leave. Cat and Tess looking for where the illness started. Tess brings up a messenger service. Half the victims had receipts. Cat says One messenger could infect every person he touches. Tess says he could be anywhere. Vincent says I can track him.
Vincent tracking. Cat asks if he's getting close. Vincent says I can take it from here. They track the messenger to the top of a parking garage. Vincent says you've been infected. The man says I'm invincible. So you're the ones they're looking for. Say cheese. He takes photos of them. They try to tell him the serum will kill him. The guy doesn't believe it. They say you can't make the jump. Guy says they say I can. Then jumps the bike over the edge. And crashes on the ground below. Who would do this to somebody? Vincent doesn't know, but they just made us.
JT's place. Tess says there's no way to get where those photos went. Cat says we're screwed. Vincent says we'll fix this. She leaves to talk to Heather. Tess says Cat will be okay. JT apologizes about Hank. Vincent says don't worry about it. I finally worked out who my real family are. Cheers.
Cat gets the box out at home. Photos. And a tape for her from her mom. It's a video. Mom says the people I work for can't be trusted. If something happens to me, I tried to make things better, safer for everyone. Some day you'll find out what really happened and you'll want answers. Justice. Be careful. I love you so much. You mean everything to me. Take care of your sister. Take care of yourself. Find love, Catherine, and happiness. Don't just try to save the world. Her mom gets a call. It's when Cat needed jumper cables. The night her mother was killed. Heather is behind Cst. They cling to each other, sobbing.
The church again. Cat sits in a pew. Vincent arrives. Got your message. You okay? I am now. What's going on? She says it's strange not being angry at my mother anymore. I got answers. I understand now. It's a lot easier being angry than being sad. I miss her. I wish she could see us. He asks if she's ready to pick a place, get married. Smoke grenades! They run. An enhanced comes after them.
Next week - A new threat. Cat is taken hostage at Niagara Falls.
