Castle returns to the City of Angels in search of answers about his missing time. But things take a deadly turn when he’s recruited by the legendary Greatest Detective Society to help solve a murder, on “Castle,” MONDAY, MARCH 7 (10:01-11:00 p.m. EST), on the ABC Television Network. Summer Glau guest stars as Kendall Frost, a heady private detective in Los Angeles who competes with Castle to try solving the murder, plus Gerald McRaney guest stars as Mason Wood, the head of the Greatest Detective Society.
Episode 14:
Graveyard. Two men walking it. Find blood. There's a man propped up against a grave - holding his heart?
LA. Alexis and Rick and Hayley arrive. He reserved a suite. Castle says Alexis will stay while he and Hayley hit the streets. There's a card delivered. The GDS asking Rick for his help on a case. Hayley says the org is a myth. Castle says the restaurant doesn't open for another couple hours.
Summer Glau is a cop at the cemetery. Hayley calls over a detective she knows. Convinces him to let them in. Victim is a local PI. Throat was slit, then his heart removed. Just came back from NYC. Castle tells the detective to call Ryan and Espo to talk to the victim's sister.
Lanie wants a favor. Background check. Ryan agrees.
Castle and Hayley in Koreatown. Castle has a memory of seeing the Hollywood sign. Recognizes a man. You're the guy with the watch. You paid me with your watch, and never came back. Ate and you left. He's still wearing the watch. Castle offers to buy it back. First clue he's had in a while.
Boys talk to the sister. PI was looking into The Phantom, a bi-coastal serial killer. Philip had a break in the case. Sister thinks he got too close. Lanie pulls the suspected victims. Each had a body part removed. Philip's the first one to connect the murders.
Castle is given another card. GDS wants him to come to HQ. Hayley comes with to watch his back. They want to speak to Castle alone. She stays in the lobby. Castle is brought to a table of members. Summer Glau is Kendall Frost, a private detective from San Francisco. Philip's death has left an opening. Whomever solves his murder will be invited in.
Rick comes back to the suite. Philip was right about the serial killer. He was working undercover at Zenith Studios. Alexis says they're the ones that ruined the Nicki Heat movie series.
Castle and Hayley go to the studio. Courtney sees him, the actress that tried to run him over with a golf cart. She's happy to not be cast in the movie now. It might've been the worst movie ever, so not being in it was the best thing to happen to her career. LOL. Castle meets Trevor Nigel, the exec that wrecked Heat Wave. He says he fought for Castle's vision. heh. Castle says we're here about Philip. Exec owed Philip a favor, so let him in. Philip was looking into a director, Austin. Left the lot around 11 last night.
Stage 1. Kendall's already talking to Austin. Hayley walks over and kisses Kendall! Who's our new friend? Austin invites them both to his place. See you later tonight. Kendall's mad at them. Castle says working together is in all our best interests. Kendall agrees for now. Castle says keep him busy and I'll search his house. She says we might be walking into the lair of a serial killer. This is not a game.
Ryan doing the background check. Espo says the movie director was in NY during 2 of the murders. Espo asks what he's hiding? Ryan says we're looking into a new nanny - or manny, and.... Espo doesn't believe him. It's Lanie's new boyfriend. She didn't want me to tell you. Espo says we're going to have fun at her expense.
Lanie got the murder weapon type. Knife is pretty distinctive. She asks about the background check. Ryan asks about clowns....the guy likes them. I haven't verified it. I still have to speak to an ex. She says keep me posted.
Castle shows Hayley the knife. Alexis set up an alarm in the suite. What tripped it? Hayley scans Rick. The watch. There's a GPS transmitter inside. Hayley said it's really common. Kendall shows up. I know you'll sneak into Austin's house. She has schematics to the house. Look for a false wall. Secret room. If you find evidence, I get equal credit, no double crosses.
The ladies arrive dressed very sexy. Castle's inside.
Austin wants to tie them up. Who's first?
Castle looks for the fake wall.
Hayley offers to tie up Austin first. Kendall is gone.
Rick figures out he's been had. Starts looking for Kendall.
Alarm goes off. Austin pulls a gun on Hayley.
Castle finds Kendall. Castle finds the blade in a tool chest. Austin comes in. He thinks they're robbing him. Castle says this knife has been used in 7 murders. Austin says it's a prop from a horror movie. There are 5 of those knives. His assistant can prove his whereabouts at all times. Get out of my house!
Lanie found an 8th victim. This body took place the same day the Phantom murdered a woman in LA. There are two killers.
Morning. Detective arrives. He's mad. The knife is clean. 2 other knives were clean, too. 2 other knives are missing. You two are done. If I catch you working this case, I'll arrest you for obstruction. Note for Castle. Summoning to the GDS.
They appeal for another chance. Castle has an address for the Prop Master's cousin that has 2 knives as souvenirs. Kendall picks Castle's pocket. The address is fake, lol.
Ryan tells Lanie the guy doesn't have a clown fetish. But he might have a bad habit. That requires rubber sheets. Espo comes in. Lanie runs off.
Hayley and Alexis. Alexis tracked the watch to McCabe. He has an aunt in Pasadena. Hayley says we can pretend we never found Malcolm. Isn't it safer for your father to not remember what happened? You should delete this. Alexis does. Hayley goes back to the spa. Alexis brings the screen up again.
Espo and Ryan go to talk to Jordan Keegan.
Alexis talks to the aunt. She'll get Malcolm's number. He's out of the country. Alexis sees a photo of Hayley with him. She leaves. Gets in the car and Hayley is in the backseat. Dammit, Alexis, you're just like your old man - can't leave things alone. Uh oh........
Are you going to kill me? Why would you say that? Hayley would never hurt her. This isn't what you think. You don't want to know. Neither does your father. It's complicated.
Ryan and Espo with Jordan. Asking about Pat Cruz. The guys runs. Takes a woman hostage. We've outsmarted you for years! Jordan says you'll never find him. They have to kill him.
Castle tells the girls about Jordan. Hayley says we need to talk. Alexis gives them the room. Hayley says we met a year and a half earlier. I didn't lie. I misrepresented. You begged me to. I met an American spy once, Jackson Hunt. He called me to keep an eye on you in LA. you were supposed to go home after the CIA op, but came to LA. She placed the tracker in the watch. She lost track of him. You wouldn't say who shot you. You told me about your CIA handler and asked him to erase what happened. You made me promise to never tell you. He asks why she stuck around? She says I'm fond of you and adore your daughter. Stuck around to keep an eye on you two. He feels like he's in a Philip K. Dick novel. She suggests he let his lost time go. There's no telling what kind of hell you'll unleash.
Alexis asks what Hayley said? He says Hayley lied because I asked her to. Alexis says but you can't trust me with it. He says no, I'm your father and it's my job to protect you. He'll let sleeping dogs lie. Safer for everyone. hayley found something in Jordan's files. A serial killer duo screen play. Castle's seen the handwriting before. I know who the killer is.
Trevor Nigel. You're under arrest. Castle says you gave yourself up. I never forget a bad review, especially one with distinctive handwriting. Trevor says Jordan's screenplay is brilliant. Sadly, he could never nail the end. Wow. Detective still mad at Hayley, lol. Kendall there. Well played, Castle. You beat me.
Ryan and Espo in the morgue. Lanie sprays them with a fire extinguisher. She and the guy broke up. He had a fetish for something nasty. She sprays the boys again. LOL.
GDS congratulates Castle. You've proven yourself worthy and offer you a place at our table. Castle is honored, but he declines. He can't wait to get back to Kate. Suggests Kendall is right for membership. Sure? Absolutely. Boss says you keep getting more interesting. Have to keep an eye on you.
Suite. Rick can't do it. Walk away. I need to know what happened to me. hayley says I should show you this. Secret website. Blair's combination. Castle puts in the code. She offers to leave. He says no. Castle on a video. You're an idiot. You discovered Loksat is too dangerous to pursue. I'm erasing our mind to protect Kate. She will die. So, do not tell her what you discovered in Los Angeles. Hayley says we have a real chance at finding who LokSat really is. Castle says no, this is my fault. I sentenced her former team to death.
