"Dead Again" - When a mild mannered safety inspector for the city (guest star Jonathan Silverman) miraculously survives a poisoning, it might be luck; but when he survives another, it's a mystery Castle and Beckett will have to solve, on "Castle," MONDAY, APRIL 25 (10:00-11:00 p.m. EDT) on the ABC Television Network.

"Castle" stars Nathan Fillion as Richard Castle, Stana Katic as NYPD Captain Kate Beckett, Tamala Jones as Medical Examiner Lanie Parish, Jon Huertas as NYPD Detective Javier Esposito, Seamus Dever as NYPD Detective Kevin Ryan, Molly Quinn as Alexis Castle, with Susan Sullivan as Martha Rodgers. For season eight, Toks Olagundoye ("The Neighbors") joined the series as Hayley.

Guest cast: Jonathan Silverman as Alan Masters, Marin Hinkle as Dr. Rebecca Ellins, Kristoffer Polaha as Caleb Brown, Maurice Benard as Horatio Spate.

Episode 19:

Alan Masters in his apartment. Takes his morning pills, talks to customer service, which puts him on hold again. Drinks water from the tap and foams at the mouth. Collapses.

Castle watched Kate sleep. And took pictures. And now it's creepy. LOL. Rick wants to shake things up. Paris, or Sahara, or a hot air balloon. He says what's after Loksat? We become normal. She says you'll never be normal. He says he's serious. Think about it.

Lanie tells them about the victim. Poisoned. Filter under the sink was tampered with. Alan gets up!! Lanie says that man was dead!

Hospital. Lanie arguing with a doctor. Kate arrives. Is he stable? Seems so.

Castle asks Alan what's on the other side? LOL. Alan says he took his pills, then woke up to an apartment full of police. Alan says he had to fire Dave Barton recently. Plays the message left for him. it's......colorful. Kate says you never thought to call police?

Dave says he has anger issues. Ryan and Espo interrogating him. Dave says I was home last night with my wife and my mother in law. That woman drives me crazy. He says Alan doesn't like anything slide. He refuses to play the game and that pisses off a lot of people.

Vikram tells Kate he's broken open Loksat. Caleb Brown in LAX as Peter McCaffrey. Ryan updates Kate.

Castle asking Alan more questions. Pushing him to live the life he's dreamed about. Officers right outside. Castle tells him to call the woman he has his eye on.

Lights flicker. They rush back into the apartment. The bed on fire. Someone rigged it to electrocute him. Lanie says this time he really is dead. Castle feels guilty for not seeing the wire. Alan wakes up!! Asks if someone's cooking BBQ. LOL.

Lanie arguing with the doc again. Kate intercepts. Lanie says I'm either bad at my job or Castle's right and this guy is a mortal. Ryan says the toxin is a controlled substance. CDC is sending us a list now.

Castle tells Alan you are a superhero! Alan asks to be left alone. Castle says don't be silly. We have to figure out your origin story. Espo comes in. We need a superhero name for Alan. LOL. Espo says we have a theory of who is after you. Alan shut them down after a chemical spill. Nothing about it that would turn anyone into.... Espo and Castle will talk to the guy. Alan wants to go. Castle says the girl works there, doesn't she? Yeah. Her name is Gwen. Castle says he'll put in a good word. LOL.

Gwen leads Castle and Espo to Frank. Clean-up almost done.

Castle takes a look around. Finds a man to ask about superhero substances. LOL.

Espo and Frank. Frank says killing Alan would have accomplished nothing. But someone was hanging out at Alan's car.

Kate and Espo talk to the man. He wanted to talk to Alan alone. Kate asks why you had 2 suitcases and a ticket to Mexico? Glen says I'm next. Kate promises to protect him. Glen says it's the mob. She asks why? Waste management. Yeah. Kate figures it out. Alan fired Dave, the only inspector they could buy, so he was becoming a big problem.

Lanie says there's no abnormal anything in Alan at all. Castle wants to cut off a finger to see if it grows back. Alan wants to go home. Or anywhere else. It's been a long day. I just want to go back to my life. Castle says no, with great power, comes great responsibility. Let's go to my place and eat pizza. I'll tell you what Gwen said about you.

Kate tells the boys to talk to Organized Crime.

Castle asks Alan to try to move the piano with his mind. And throws something at the back of Alan's head. Alan asks for a break. Castle tries to get him to read his mind. Tells Alan that Gwen thinks you're funny. Castle dials her number. She picks up. Alan stumbles through asking her to dinner. She says yes. Meeting in 30 minutes. Alan will embrace his powers.

Vikram and Kate. Ran the plate. Brooks. Guy with the bag of spiders. Kate says it's a start. We have to wait until we have something more concrete. Vikram will look into Caleb's alias.

Castle and Alan get to the restaurant. Alan's really nervous. Castle sits at the bar. Alan greets Gwen. Tells her he's a superhero.

Ryan calls Castle. Spate is suspected of killing at least a dozen people. I texted you his photo. Don't leave the loft. Castle hangs up. Then sees the mobster.

He approaches Alan. Castle sits with Alan. Gwen says you're cute and I like you, but this is a bit much. She takes her wine and leaves the table. Castle says meet Horatio Spate. Spate says he wants an arrangement. One to benefit both of us. Protection in exchange for relaxed policies. Alan says no. Spate takes gingko. Try one. Careful, it's dangerous out there.

Kate is not happy with Castle taking Alan in public. She's put him at a safe house. Ryan says Horatio solves problems with guns, not poison and booby-trapped beds. Lucky Dragon Herbal Medicine is a front for the Triad. Triad is gearing up for war with Horatio. They think maybe the gangs are brokering a deal. If Alan stumbled on to it.....

Caleb shows up and asks to talk to Kate is private. Peter McCaffrey. He set up digital trip wires. Make an about face or it will not end well. She doesn't get it. You used to make a difference. Why did you sell out? He says my client is forced to work for a man he cannot fight and neither can you. She says you have until 8 tomorrow night, or I'll expose you. He says 7 minutes. That's how long the brain functions after the body dies. I hope you don't flash to this moment when you had a chance to live and chose not to.

Castle making coffee. He's on edge. Why is Kate not on edge? She thinks she turned Caleb. Ryan comes in. Judge denied their search warrant for the Lucky Dragon. Castle knows how to get in.

He goes with Alan. Old man seems to be blind. Why 2 inspectors? Alan says he's my trainee. Man says my medicines break none of your Western laws. Castle tests if the man can actually see. Alan asks to see the back room. Man senses something powerful. A man that cannot die.

Espo and Ryan confront the henchmen in the back of the store. What is this?

Synthetic heroin. Lanie says it's laced with TTX. Makes the drug more addictive. Kate and Castle says this could be worth billions. Alan says the shade looks familiar. Same chemical that spilled, LAH. He and Lanie figure it out. It's cute. Mike Lin, the lead chemist, ordered the chemical. Kate says we have to impound the entire lab so no one destroys evidence.

Alan is missing.

Because he's at the lab already. He grabs Gwen. Come with me if you want to live. Pulls her into a room. Tells her about the heroin. Cops are on the way. I'll protect you. She has a gun. She's running the operation!! And tried to kill Alan. Horatio is her boyfriend! She prepares to shoot him in the head.

Police invade the lab. Castle and Ryan and Espo looking for Alan.

Castle finds Alan with a hole in the head. Tests for a pulse. Ryan comes in. Castle says this is my fault. Alan stands up. He's got a splitting headache. Did I get shot in the head? Castle asks who is the killer? Espo arrested her.

The slug didn't penetrate the plate of Alan's skull. Lanie is surprised. Doctor tells Alan that he's the luckiest man that ever lived. Castle asks how he's feeling? Alan feels grateful. Hopes he and Lanie can stay in touch. Lanie says Bye, Castle.

Vikram says Horatio was arrested. And Caleb ran. Kate says maybe it is time for a change.

He's in their flat!! Drinking Castle's most expensive scotch. He tells Kate I was a good guy once. She asks who is Loksat? He doesn't know. I started working for Bracken. After his murder, I received this phone. Every 3rd Monday at 8am. A modified voice gives me instructions. Lasts no more than 60 seconds. He's going to leave and act like nothing has changed. See this through and remember what I did today, because no one else will. He leaves. Castle says this is our lead. Kate says we're going to use it.
