ABBIE AND CRANE DISCOVER AN UNLIKELY WAY TO DEFEAT THE HIDDEN ONE ON THE SEASON FINALE OF "SLEEPY HOLLOW" FRIDAY, APRIL 8, ON FOX
After a startling discovery, Abbie and Crane realize what they must do in order to make Pandora's box complete again. Meanwhile, the team works tirelessly to stop The Hidden One, before he destroys all of humanity. Can the Witnesses succeed with the fate of the world in their hands once again? Episode 18:
Catacombs. Abbie says you're freaking out, Crane. He finally admits it. He says we must endeavor to help Betsy on her way. Crane has seen Star Trek!!! Betsy returns. Ichabod says we have very specific orders from General Washington. Betsy's suspicious. Ichabod says we have to restore a very powerful artifact. The fate of the world is at stake. He chants to remake the Box. Well, that was easy. He says the box used to be silver. Some other glowing cuneiform on the wall. Smoke flows out of the box. It takes Abbie. Betsy and Ichabod try to close the Box. Abbie says its bark is worse than its bite. Box turns silver. Abbie collapses. Her pulse is faint. He carries her. Box took something precious. She says something's wrong. He says we'll fix it. Betsy joins them. Perhaps Washington and Revere can help. Ichabod says we're not coming back with you. She says you're not the Crane I know. Your heart belongs to Abigail Mills. He says she is my partner. He tells Betsy about the well to go home. Betsy tells Abbie to put Crane in his place every once in a while. Keeps him honest. She leaves.
Ichabod and Abbie at the well. Readying to repel. She wants him to tell her what he doesn't want to tell her. He saw a symbol that means Eternal Soul. Box requires the soul of a Witness. He says we make our own destiny. She readies to drop down the well. Tally ho! Down she went. He says that was not very sporting. What she said.
Abbie and Crane return to the Archive. Jenny's there. They hug. Abbie asks where is everyone? Dad is there. Jennifer asked me to come. Jenny says it's Joe. He turned again. The Hidden One. Abbie hugs her again. Joe was our brother. Crane says my condolences, Miss Jenny. The Hidden One will pay for this.
Papa Mills has been here in the Archive before. Years ago. Finds a book. About the Ragnarok myth. Crane will make Greek fire. Mills offers to make the arrangements for Joe. Abbie thanks him for looking after Jenny. She gets woozy. he catches her. She has a thousand questions, but now is not the time. He agrees. But there's much to tell you, young lady. She looks forward to it.
Team Witness at the FBI Office. Abbie thanks Danny. You and Sophie stay. We'll get the box back to Pandora.
Hidden One has her in a mirror prison. He's going to carry out his rise in stages. Greek fire at him. Crane sneaks behind him with the Box and puts it in front of Pandora. She gets to it. Opens it. Feed as you never have before. Hidden One not happy. He falls to his knees. Box closes. Pandora says you know what it needs, Abbie. It hungers for the light at the center of your being. The rest of your eternal soul. Pandora says only you can do this, Abbie. He will kill us all. Save the world, Abbie. Abbie opens the box. Pandora says give it your strength, your hope, your life! Crane yells for Abbie. Abbie says Crane, never give up hope. Abbie is taken into the Box. Crane screams.
Pandora tells Hidden One to beg for forgiveness. Beg for your life. He says I'll do what you ask. Jenny shoots him in the head. For Joe. Pandora says this was my victory, not yours. Crane says it doesn't matter. Return Abbie. Pandora says now you can worship me. Jenny asks what did you do to my sister? Pandora says we used each other. Let's call it even. Jenny stops Crane. We need her to get Abbie back. Pandora says I won't destroy this world, I quite like it. As long as I am obeyed, I'll be a benevolent goddess.
Archive. They tells Papa Mills. Crane insists we will free Abbie. Pandora can release her. Time we fought fire with fire.
Abbie sees August Corbin in the diner. Take a seat, kiddo. She calls him an angel. He says no, this isn't Heaven, kid, not by a long shot. She says the pie is too good. He knows about Joe. Soldiers know when to sacrifice. She says it was me or the world. My world felt complete. And now you've come to take me into the light. He laughs. Not yet, anyway. Hear of a Phoenix? She has. he says it's the same bird, only it isn't. She says when did you get so cryptic? I'm proud of you, Agent mills. So proud of you. I know you're ready for the next adventure. She asks about Crane. He says he's trying to get you back. August sees Joe. Thank you. He excuses himself to buy his son a beer.
Choir in the church. Oh Happy Day. Pandora walks down the aisle. Oh boy. Music stops. She addresses them. Pastor asks her to leave. She brings her Box. Rejoice! For I have come and all I ask is your love, your adoration, your respect. I can take your fears away or send them to your door. They run from her once she opens the box. She sits with the flowers. Plucks petals.
Walks to the cemetery. Crane confronts her. Abbie. Bring her back. He holds a skull. Calls forth the dark rider of the apocalypse. Headless is back. Horseman, I called you against a common enemy. Avatar of death, end her. Crane gives him his head. She teleports away to give herself space. Crane and Jenny hide to watch. Pandora says no need to fight. Headless loses the battle. She's sucking him back in the Box. Crane runs to help and she uses magic on him. Jenny runs to him. Crane's freaking out. Jenny says don't you dare let Abbie's sacrifice be for nothing. He says there's always another way. He gets Headless' axe and throws it to him. Headless hacks at her. Crane says enough! it's over. Enough death for one night. Leave! Headless does. Pandora bloody. Death wins in the end, it seems, even for a Goddess. You love her. She's your hope, your everything. I took her from you. he says let her out now. It's over. Pandora says she was never inside. She's dead. The box glowing. Crane grabs it and they run.
Get it in the cell and leave. Close the doors. Box explodes.
Ichabod in jail? With long hair. Abbie comes to him. He says unlock the door. Let's go home. She says we don't have long. Time to say goodbye. He runs after her. Into the Archive. She says the Box is broken to bits. I'm free. We are eternal souls, Crane. An old friend told me my job is done. And this place? Where are we? Waiting room between life and death. I'm being called. My journey isn't over. But, Abbie Mills has done what she's supposed to do. He doesn't understand. She says it's something you feel. He says your whole life has finally fallen into piece. She says yes, I've made peace with it. Time for the next stage. He wonders what's for him without her. She says think about it. Our job was to carry you forward and that job is done. it's not goodbye. More like, til we meet again. Bash the monsters for me and look out for my sister. He says I shall miss you. She says honor our bond and be brave, be strong. I know you will be. You're my guy, always. He kisses her hand. She says be still my beating heart. He bows. And she's gone.
Crane! Crane! Jenny finds him. He wakes. Abbie? His face says it all. Jenny sits with him. She's gone. Really gone. He says no. The Box may have taken her, but she is and forever will be ours.
Cemetery. Jenny stops the car. Crane has flowers. He asks if she doesn't want his company. She says I have to do this myself. She's going to spread Joe's ashes in the lake by the cabin. He says that's fitting. You are coming back? She says someone has to keep you out of trouble. Tell my sister I said hello, and I miss her. He says I always do. He gets out and talks to her grave. "She bore witness" on the stone. He's the archivist for the historical society now, and continuing to seek citizenship. He tells her about the finale season of American Idol. And her house is up for sale. He's looking for a place of his own. Things are quiet now, but he knows it won't last in Sleepy Hollow. He lays the flowers down. You are missed. Never forgotten. Ezra shows up. We don't have much time. Abigail's death set things in motion. There must always be two Witnesses. The essence of her soul sparks a new Witness. Find her before they do. This is from President Washington. 1789. Captain Crane will be Commander of this organization to fight evil. Ezra says they're not all bad men, though many have lost their way. Forgive them, for they know not what they do. SUVs pull up. Mills leaves. Jack Walters asks Ichabod to come to Washington. Crane pauses before getting in the car and says whoever you are, wherever you are, I will find you.
