"BREAKFAST IN BED"
02/10/2017 (08:00PM - 09:00PM) (Friday) : A MYSTERIOUS WESEN TURNS SLEEPLESS NIGHTS INTO PURE INSANITY - Nick (David Giuntoli), Hank (Russell Hornsby) and Wu (Russell Hornsby) investigate a local hotel after a grisly murder leads to one of its guests who claims to be haunted by a frightening creature in the night. At the Spice Shop, Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell), Rosalee (Bree Turner) and Eve (Bitsie Tulloch) continue to research the origins of the symbols on the cloth and may be getting closer to unlocking its mystery. Meanwhile, Capt. Renard (Sasha Roiz) continues to be haunted by his past transgressions. TV-14 V
Episode 6:
The streets. A man carries a bag into a hotel. Manager tells Dan to keep it down in his room. Tired of getting calls. An old man watches from down the hall.
Dan locks himself in his room and wedges a chair against the door. Checks the closet. Under the bed. Nails the window shut. Chains across them. He hears a noise and grabs the hammer. Looks in the closet again. Finally gets in bed. What is he so afraid of? Can't fall asleep.
Shadow in the room. Dan is asleep holding the hammer. There's a green gas that enters his nose. And a thing bends down over him with a glowing green mouth.
Nick's loft. He goes down into the tunnels. Eve comes in. He's photographing her sketching. She wonders if the 7 crusaders knew what they had. Nick says probably why they buried it.
Dan freaks out in the morning. Not again, not again, it's impossible. He runs out of his room. The old man is still at the end of the hall.
Dan rambling and ranting in his underwear on the street. A man offers help. It'll be okay. I work at a shelter. You can get a warm meal and sleep. Dan says you want me to sleep? Man says I want you to be safe. Dan attacks him, thinking the guy is the thing that attacked him.
Group in the basement. Nick and Eve showing Monroe and Rosalee the symbols. Monroe says we need a Rosetta Stone to crack this mess. He recognizes something. 7 stars. The Pleides. Rosalee opens the computer. Monroe says it's associated with mourning. And it gets awkward for Eve when Monroe and Rosalee are happy.
Nick gets to work. shows Hank the photos. Eve drew this? Scratched it into the walls and ceiling in a trance. Monroe says this once is the constellation Pleides. Hank's phone. Wu calling. Hank will take a murder vs. an unsolvable mystery of the universe any day.
Wu updates them. Killer fled the scene on foot. They set up a 10 block perimeter. Cop says he was at the Englewood Hotel. 4 blocks over.
Into the hotel. Manager says it's Dan, he's a mess. He's in room 308. They hear hammering. Nick tells a woman to get in her apartment and lock the door. They tell Dan to open the door, or we'll break it down. Dan says it'll get me. I can't open this door. It'll kill me! They break down the door. Dan ranting and cowering in the corner. You can't hide from him! He follows you wherever you are! Please, please! Hank and Nick look around the room. Nick spots the old man at the end of the hall.
Talk to the manager. Dan has been here 2 months. Didn't have a problem with him at first, then he got weirder and weirder. Gives them the previous address. Nick tells him his doors and windows were nailed shut. Calls for Eddie. Go up to 308. Hank says no one goes in until we're done with the investigation. Nick asks about the guy in the wheelchair. Charles Lynk. No one's ever heard him speak. Been here longer than anyone can remember.
Sean in his office. A man walks in. Do I know you? Man says we spoke on the phone. It's important we talk now Bonaparte is dead and you killed your political career. Sean says the Grimm had help. Much better help than I had. They want Sean to pick up where they left off. Sean says the Grimm should be dead but he's not. Protected by something very powerful. Sean says I'm done taking orders, I'm done with Black Claw, and I'm done with you.
Eve and Monroe and Rosalee going over the symbols. Considering this is a map of the universe. Ancient civilizations tracked the heavens for all sorts of reasons. Maybe it's a calendar. But of when?
Hank and Nick researching Dan. Hank says Dan's been living on relief and hotel vouchers. Nick says there's no record of mental illness. People do have breakdowns, especially when they encounter Wesen.
They ask Dan questions. We're here to help. What are you afraid of? Sleeping. Why? That's when it gets me. You can never sleep, never. I don't know what it is. I can't move. At all. But I see it. And it's big, and it comes for me, which it's disgusting breath. Huge mouth. Not teeth, exactly. Dan freaks out. Hank punches him out.
Sumarian calendar. Mayan calendar. 3000 years apart. Rosalee suggests connected in a way we don't understand. Nick and Hank return. We think this is an ancient calendar. An event a very long time ago. Might tell where the stick came from. Nick and Hank came to ask about the Wesen. Alpe. Monroe says they do sleep paralysis and insomnia. His aunt's mental state declined because of an Alpe. They get in your head and feed on your sleep. Steal it. They go insane if they don't feed nightly on Rem sleep proteins. Melatonin leads them to victims. Rosalee asks where was the attack? Hotel makes sense for feeding.
Nick and Hank back at the precinct. How did the Alpe get in? Hank reads about a 1954 guest that killed a maid. 6 suicides and 3 murders. What was the name of the old guy in the wheelchair? Wu says the owner of the hotel is in LA. Nick calls. We're checking on the Englewood Hotel. One of your guests was involved in a murder. We're looking for info on your employees. She says she inherited it, so she doesn't manage it directly. Doesn't seem interested in chatting.
Another room. The woman that keeps complaining about the noise is attacked by the Alpe.
Sean sees Meisner in the hall. I'm not here to haunt you. I believe they're going to kill you. 2 men waiting by your car. Sean asks why are you telling me this? Meisner says you trust me.
Meisner blinds one man. Sean kills the man that threatened him. Then the blind one. Asks Meisner why he saved his life. Meisner says this time, you chose the right side, Sean. He walks away and fades away with a wave.
The woman flees her room. falls down the stairs and over the railing. Dead. Manager says no one saw it. Heard her scream. Eddie found her. Nick asks how long she's been staying here? He says 3 months. Eddie says it was about 6 this morning. Nick and Hank go upstairs. Lynk is still there at the end of the hall. Windows locked. No sign of forced entry. Maybe she was the Alpe's next meal. Nick says this window was nailed shut before. We need to catch this Alpe in the act.
Nick wants someone to stay in the hotel for a night as bait. Rosalee doesn't want him to get hurt. Monroe is willing. they suggest he take melatonin. Nick says we'll be monitoring Monroe from the second he enters the hotel.
Drive him there. Set up the camera so there's a view of the whole room. Don't put the earbud in until you're in the room. Here's your voucher. Monroe enters and goes to the manager. One night? All I need. Just passing through. Name, previous address, check out's 11. Room 305. Elevator doesn't work. Monroe thanks him.
Into the room. Lynk is still there. Monroe puts the earbud in. Nick says lock the door and windows, set the camera, go to bed. Monroe does it. Camera on. room is palatial. Puts the camera on the dresser across from the bed. He yawns again. Doesn't want to lay in the bed. Lays on the covers. This is a really uncomfortable bed.
Hank brings coffee. Nothing yet.
Manager locks the front door.
Camera falls. Someone's in there. They hurry upstairs.
Monroe is gassed.
The Alpe climbs on top.
Nick finds the door locked.
Alpe prepares to feed.
Hank breaks the window. They get into the room. Monroe is paralyzed. the dresser is hollow. There's a passage in the wall. Nick says we'll be back! Monroe mutters you can't leave me like this. LOL.
Chasing the Alpe. Manager is running. Into another room. He wogues. Hundjager. They fight. Nick kills him. Monroe stumbles in. I saw an Alpe! Where is he? Gotta be another passageway. They rip into the wall and search. Nick uses his hearing. Into another room. This is a welfare hotel? Woman comes in. Beverly Garwood is not in LA. Monroe sniffs. You're the Alpe. He wogues. She wogues. Sees Nick is a Grimm. What can you charge me with? I didn't kill anyone. I suggest you leave. Nick gives her 2 choices. Sell the hotel and donate the proceeds and leave Portland forever. She says no. He says I'm a Grimm. One less Alpe in the world? Who will lose sleep over that? She says she'll calls her agent in the morning. She attacks falls into the table.
Lynk is a fish man and he giggles and cackles.
Eve has a theory. Rosalee has a program that can calculate the date based on solar system position. It thinks on it. Farther back she goes, more out of alignment it is. Eve sees the right configuration. It's in the future! March 24th.
Next ep - celebration day. And the team attacking each other. And Eve kisses Nick. There's never been anyone else for me. Woot!
