"Funeralia"
ANGELS, WITCHES, AND REAPERS, OH MY – Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) must stop Rowena (guest star Ruth Connell), who is on a deadly mission. Meanwhile, Castiel (Misha Collins) looks to heaven to recruit angels for an impending invasion but is shocked by not only what he finds, but who. Episode 19:
Portland, Oregon. Rowena in an evening gown. The boys call her for help. Cas chimes in. She flirts with him. She says she'd love to help, but she's in the PNW working on my little project. Sam asks if she's at a party. I am. Dean says the world is in danger. She says best of luck, my 3 little Musketeers. Smooches. LOL.
Cas says you never go to parties.
Rowena approaches Elizabeth, who had been in the paper. She hears a song and dances a tango with Bernard. Everyone watches them. Rowena casts a spell that lights Elizabeth on fire.
Dean says forget Rowena. Have to be some other way to track down Gabriel. Cas says he could be anywhere in the universe. Dean didn't say it'd be easy. Ideas, come on. He needs a real drink. Beer. Cas says maybe Heaven could help us. Dean says don't they want to kill you? Yes, this would be like a Hail Mary. Like a slam dunk. Or ball handler. Dean doesn't think it's a good idea. Cas insists. Heaven doesn't want the world to end any more than we do. Sam says we have a problem. I found Rowena. Spontaneous combustion. Dean says you gave her that page and now-- Sam says I said if Rowena went bad again, I'd deal with it, so I'll deal with it. Dean tells Cas to try the angels. Just don't get dead again.
The playground. Hello? Angel hiding in the play structure. Are we gonna fight? Cas doesn't want to. I need to get into Heaven. Angel says what's stopping you? He's got a bottle, been drinking. Are you drunk? Angel says it takes the edge off. Cas says this is an important responsibility, you're guarding the gates of Heaven. Angel says it'd be okay if you said we fought and stuck me with the blade right now. Cas asks what's wrong? Angel says see for yourself. For what it's worth, good luck.
Cas searches Heaven. Some appear. I need to talk to you. Cas holds up his hands. I know you want to murder me, but there are events unfolding on Earth. Gabriel is alive. I need to find him before a much worse Michael invades this world to subjugate and destroy it. And there's the missing nephilim, and Lucifer.....it's been an eventful few weeks. Lights flashing. Power drain? She says I think we could help each other.
No answer on the phone. Dean doesn't want to be right. A woman appears in the backseat. Dean slams on the brakes. He recognizes Jessica. She's been watching them. Death asked me to keep an eye on you in case. Hovering around. Like a baby monitor. And you've seen.... Oh, everything. She's especially fond of Sam's hair products. And the 3 day old bacon cheeseburger in Dean's room. Or the VHS tape of tentacle porn. She's appeared because of Rowena. Instructed to offer assistance as a resource. 4 dead so far. Sam says we don't need anything and we won't. Dean says we could've used her help. Between the reapers and Death.....what the hell has this witch gotten us in to?
Rowena says I'm too sentimental. Winchesters keep calling and won't give up. But I won't stop fixing things. I'm capable of anything now. Anything. Her eyes glow purple. Bernard served her a martini.
Police at the museum. Boys dressed as feds. Sam looks up the dead woman. People died from a bad pharmaceutical. Dean has a question. Looks like 2 body marks on the floor. Sam has seen this before. That's what's left of a reaper. Dean takes them back outside. Yo Jessica. Hi. Sam brings up the dead reaper. She says this will be a positive experience. Sam says you could've told us Rowena is killing reapers. Rowena is changing people's fates. She'll throw off Fate. The butterfly effect. The ripple effect from one early death changes hundreds of lives. We have to hit the reset button. The Black Plague, a midsize war. So if you stop that, that will be good. Billy has rules. No direct interference. We can't stop her, but you can. Rowena's death is always the same. She's killed by Sam Winchester.
Cas waits and waits and waits. power fluctuates again. 4 angels enter. Duma, what did you mean we can help each other. She says bring Gabriel home and we'll help with everything else. Cas can't find him. His torturer enters. it's not that we won't help you. It's that we can't.
Impala. James Milford is dying. His death has shifted to now.
Rowena says you shouldn't have tried to run, James. Now you're finally helping someone else. Her eyes glow. She wants to chat with Death and all this will end. She lights James on fire. And the reaper guy goes up, too.

**Wonder if Rowena wants Death to bring back Crowley?
Boys find what's left. The reaper's name was Martin. Rowena calls. She asks to be left to her business before something unfortunate happens. She wants to explain. I'll text you an address, meet me in a half an hour. Believe me or you don't. Either way, the drinks are on me.
Dean says it's going to be a trap. Sam says of course it's a trap. With Rowena it's always a trap.
Drill to the head wouldn't kill that angel. Cas was relieved she was dead. You stole my memories and threatened to tear me apart and you killed many, many people. She says those were simpler times. He says I'm sorry goes a long way. She had angels spread the word she was dead. There are still a few holes, but she's mostly here. I have to be. Do you know what powers Heaven, Castiel? Angels. Every angel is a walking, talking battery. And that's what happens when we run out of power. There are 9 angels in Heaven and 1 or 2 on Earth and that's all. Cas says that's not....I knew our numbers were small..... She says we can't help you because none of us can leave. We need everyone, especially an archangel. Your news about Gabriel is blessed. With his power we can keep Heaven running. Without him, Heaven will crumble and all the souls entrusted to us will fall back to Earth. Billions of ghosts unleashed on the world. Chaos and death.
They meet Rowena in a bar. She's brought Bertrand. Sam says this isn't why I helped you. She realized she could rewrite wrongs long overdue. These drug people hurt sick people for money. I'm striking a blow for justice. Sam asks why are you killing Reapers? She says it's not easy to get Death's attention. She has my son. It's my fault he went on the path he did. I left him. Fergus deserved better from the world, from me. Dean says no coming back from it. Rowena insists. She's not afraid of Death. You can't stop me. Dean tells her in every version of your permanent death, Sam is the one that kills you. He tries to put cuffs on her and she's only a projection. She runs. Sam goes after her while Dean fights with Bertrand. She's powerful, she's gorgeous, and paying me a small fortune. She didn't have to cast a spell on me. They resume fighting. Elevator opens. Couple closes it again.
Sam pulls a gun on Rowena. I get what you're trying to do for Crowley, but you're messing with the universe. Death won't give you what you want. You have to stop! She says I can't. Samuel, you'll have to shoot me. She turns. He shoots. She stops the bullet in air. How? You really would've shot me? She spells him out.
Dean asks Jessica for help. She can't. He's still fighting Bertrand. Gets him on the ground. Chokes him out. Jessica says he was a highly trained military operative. It's impressive you could... Dean runs outside and finds Sam's revolver. Where the hell is my brother?
Sam tells Rowena the power is making her crazy. She says no, clarity. Everything I did before took everything from me. I'm a flawed, petty, evil creature, Samuel. I don't know if I can be redeemed, but I hope there's a way. She cuts her hand. What are you doing? What is that? You don't want to know. Sam begs. She pushes what haven't you done for your family?! I'm sorry, Sam. She spells him. Billy arrives. Rowena knows her. Billy says you're upsetting the natural order. That's unwise. Rowena says bring back my son and it'll all stop. Billy says no. Rowena threatens to kill Sam. Billy says go ahead. I don't do blackmail. I'm curious to see what happens. Sam begs. Appeals to Rowena. This is not you. Not anymore. Rowena says those were my choices, but Fergus....it's not fair! She blasts Billy, but Billy just stands there. You were never going to kill him. There was a time you would've. But not now. I can see that. Rowena weeps. Billy says sometimes life is unfair and sometimes we lose things and sometimes we make mistakes. They can't be fixed no matter how powerful you are. You have to live with that. Rowena says you'll take me? Billy says no. You know how your story ends. Dean busts in. Billy says Hey, Dean. See you again soon. Rowena bows on her knees, depressed. Sam was knocked off the chair he was stuck to. Dean looks a bit shell-shocked.
Cas back on Earth. Find Gabriel. We'll keep things running. He says we'll fix this. We will. She says it may not be fixed. Everything ends. Until then, the gates of Heaven are closed. Cas picks up sand from the sand box.
Dean and Sam open beers. Rowena, too. Bernard's very enthusiastic. Sam asks how she feels. Rowena says tired. Weaker. What have I done? Sam says you had a chance to kill me and didn't. I call that progress. Dean says a miracle. Sam and Dean say Crowley made his choices. Like we all do. We're all trying to make up for something. Sam says you're still the most powerful witch around. We need help to save the world. Dean says if you want to be redeemed, this would be a big step. Sam tells her Lucifer is back. She says of course he is. But he's not going to kill me, is he? Sam says maybe we can change your fate. Dean asks if she's in.
Next ep - Jack and Mary. Jack wants to kill Michael.
