"Unmasked"
FELICITY MAKES CERTAIN DECISIONS FOR HER FAMILY - Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) stands by her recent decisions regarding her family. Meanwhile, Diggle (David Ramsey) and Lyla (Audrey Marie Anderson) continue to look into the Dante painting that Curtis (Echo Kellum) found. Alexandra La Roche directed the episode written by Oscar Balderrama & Beth Schwartz (#708). Original airdate 12/3/2018.
Episode 8:
Woman sleeping on a cot. She gets up and does exercises on gymnastic rings. Makes a protein shake. News talking about Oliver making an appearance at a gala for prison reform. She dresses in a Green Arrow costume.
Oliver showering. We see all the scars again. He gets jumpy but it's Felicity. She apologizes. He zips up her dress. She missed him. Really misses William. He'll be home Christmas vacation. Oliver wants to sit this out. A lot of people are mad at me. I lied to them. She says they want to publicly recognize you as a hero. Let them see who you are without a mask. He says you will always be the best part of me for the rest of my life. Happy anniversary. They kiss and start undressing.
Future. Dinah brings William and Zoe to a club. It's a fight club now. Used to be a high money place before the fall. They're looking for Black Star. She's in the cage. Fighting a man. It's a no holds barred fight since they can do dirty moves. Crowd chants for her when she wins.
Rene and Dinah at the party. He thinks this event is messed up. If they cared about prison reform they'd help people in poor communities stay out in the first place. Dinah asks if he's ever considered running for office. Felicity and Oliver arrive. Oliver now has fans that were douche bags from the past. They join the others. Curtis asks Oliver what his first meal was out of prison. Felicity says Belly Burger. Rene asks if he's going to put the suit on. Dinah says no, no, just like we don't EITHER. John acknowledges Oliver needs to get his sea legs back. Lyla asks what now? Oliver doesn't know. Felicity is developing a new security system. Laurel arrives. Some of them aren't nice. Felicity says we should be thanking her. Oliver is considerate. Laurel says it was Felicity. She's ruthless. Heh. Oliver is introduced by the mayor to speak. He says I used to believe justice was as simple as putting criminals behind bars. Now I know our institutions have a long way to go to achieve true justice. New Green Arrow shoots arrows around, taking out the lights. Oliver catches one.
Mayor says there's a reason the anti-vigilante law exists.
They tell Oliver the new Green Arrow hasn't worked like this. Oliver says this was cold-blooded murder, so we need to know who's behind this. Rene insists on investigating the case.
Oliver and Rene discussing this. Rene tells him about the New Arrow. Dinah arrives. She brought an arrow. Oliver says handmade. Material seems to match. Cameras? Dinah says the shooter is off camera. Clayton Ford was the target. This guy helped the Glades. So what's the motive? Dinah wants to talk to the new Arrow. Oliver tells Rene to make the call.
John comes to Lyla's office. Flatters her. She says shut the door. Her contact looked into the Dante painting. Terror circles using Dnate like it's a contact. She cross referenced financials and found a common account. Red Silent Bear. Longbow Hunters. Whatever she shows John shocks him.
Where is the New Arrow? Motion detectors. They've been made. Arrow is on the roof. Tells Rene that I said come alone. Male voice, but the voice changer could be doing more than masking. Rene says you can trust us. Oliver says from one Arrow to another, cooperate. Right now, most of the people in this city think you're a killer. Are you? Arrow runs. Dinah tells Rene to cut him off. Oliver heads upward. Arrow swings over to another building. Oliver can't keep up. New Arrow cuts through and gets away on a motorcycle.
**That wasn't the chick in this costume. She was too little. But of course, this show isn't good on being particular and correct in filming (see all the errors in last week), so we can't be definitive from this. It could be any manner of stunt people.
Press asking Oliver who the new Arrow is. Dinah tells them the precinct is off limits. Rene says the vigilante didn't do it. Dinah says the New Arrow is innocent. Ford is dead now. Same time we were talking to him. Rene says we need a better name for him. LOL. Ford was trying to skip town. Mayor asks what's going on? She's not happy Rene and Oliver are here. She says bring that vigilante to justice or I'll find someone who can. Both victims were members of the same society at Yale. Max Fuller is, too. Oliver will chat with him.
Future. Black Star isn't interested in talking. Until they pay her. She says the fight club is stress release. They ask how she knows Felicity. I don't. You're the last person she called. Felicity's dead? She confronts Dinah. Zoe asks why Felicity called. Then we'll leave you alone. Black Star is a broker. Felicity needed mechanisms for triggering a bomb. All she knows. She tells them asking questions about Felicity will not end well for anyone.
Max's club. Lots of security. Pays them with crypto currency. Offers aged scotch to Oliver. Oliver says the last 2 murders aren't connected to the vigilante. Oliver asks about Ford and Hutchington. Max says well enough to mourn them, but we lost touch. You're looking for skeletons. There were always rumors about deals with the Triad. Maybe they got in over their heads. Oliver says I won't take up more of your time. Thanks. Max asks why Oliver cares when they sent you to prison. Oliver says old habits.
He gets home. Felicity is there. He says Max Fuller is hiding something. She says you came in the front door and my security measures didn't trigger. An archer invades! Oliver fights with the man. Who are you?! She points a gun at the guy. My husband asked you a question! Oliver asks where she got that. She says Later. Then shoots. Down! When the archer tries to rise she knocks the guy out. Oliver is horrified at her brutality.
**Ooo, make Felicity go dark side/evil and maybe this show will redeem more of it's reputation. But doubtful. It's already too far from comics.
Dinah at the apartment. Don't shoot people your first week out of prison. Good tip. Police leave. He confronts Felicity about having a gun. She says you don't get to judge me. He says you don't obsess over security or carry a gun! She says you left us alone as sitting ducks for Diaz! He says I've apologized. How many times more do I need to? She says I had to learn to survive. The old me was weak. he says the old you was the person I fell in love with. She says she's gone and she's not coming back.
Future. William drinking. Dinah finds him. Thought you didn't drink. He says it's been a tough week. I'm going home. Why should I care about what happened to Felicity? I'm just sorry I dragged you all into this. Dinah shows him the Mark of Four. Your dad came up with it. 4 pillars of heroism. We all got them as a reminder that we'd be there if any of us were in trouble. That's why Roy came back. Trust doesn't come easily to her. She has a throat scar. She sees the heroism in him like his father. What does your gut tell you about Black Star? That she's not telling us the whole story. Then let's find out what she's hiding.
Dinah and Rene. He brought food. She says how can I be effective here if the mayor is going to undercut me? Rene says you're the best person for the job. The city needs you here. The Mirror was the assassin. Fuller ordered hits on all 3. Rene wonders why. Oliver thinks Fuller was giving payback. The club could get really messy. Rene says it won't get messy if the OG Arrow goes in. Oliver says I can't risk it. Dinah knows a way he might. She convinces Oliver.
Bunker has seen better days. John brings a case. FBI still has Oliver's suit. Oliver says it's not just about breaking a cycle of violence. It's about accountability. Star City wants to hate the Green Arrow. That's fine. They'll have to hate me, too. John offers backup. Oliver says he has to do this solo. John asks don't you need this? The mask. Oliver says no.
Oliver on the roof tops. Heading to Max's club.
Max calls Cassidy. Tells his security that no one gets in the office.
Oliver in the building. Tells Dinah to wait for his word. She tells all units to stand by.
Oliver takes out a camera. Max grabs a gun. Security shooting in the hall. Oliver takes them down one by one.
Max among the people downstairs. Dinah asks if you have him. I'm about to. More security. Oliver tosses them through a window and goes to the floor. Max takes a hostage. Oliver frees her. Max says you don't have the authority to arrest me. Oliver says she does. Dinah starts reading his rights. The people in the club record it all with their phones.
Dinah brings Fuller into the precinct. Mayor is waiting for her. Dinah brings Oliver with her. Mayor says you've got some nerve. She wants Queen booked. Or your resignation. No one is above the law. Dinah says as of today, Mr. Queen is working for the SCPD. I have a strong feeling the DA will side with me on this one. Mayor tells him this isn't over. Not even close. She leaves.
John and Lyla coming to see a prisoner. Diaz. Lyla says remember me? I'm sure you remember my husband. Diaz asks what do you want? John says we need your help.
Future. Searching Black Star's place. William finds blueprints. Bomb schematics. Dinah says maybe she was part of it. William asks why hang onto these? Dinah says because she's still using it. She says we go to the Glades. Zoe is still welcome there. I don't love the idea, either, but we need resources. Zoe says I guess it's time to pay Dad a visit.
News talks about Oliver working with the cops. Felicity says you're famous again. He says there wasn't an hour that went by I didn't think about you and William and getting our life back. So what's changed? She says time apart forced us to move in different directions. He asks how to we get back to the same direction. She says she doesn't know. I've changed. I almost killed Diaz. I had to learn how to protect myself. He apologizes. She says it's not on you. I love you more than a human being should love another. But I don't know if what's best for me now is what's best for us.
Woman talks to her dad about Oliver and her. Robert Queen's daughter.
Explosion? Earth-90. A lot of dead heroes. Costumes from Smallville heroes. There's a book. Flash tried to reach it. Bad guy says You failed. Flash asks Why are you doing this? Bad guy says You did this to yourselves. And now, all of you will perish.
