Episode 8:

Space ship. They tell Izel it'll never survive the hyperjump. Fitz says this ship is solid. The odds are even. She says prepare to jump. The worker disagrees. She tells him to get off the bridge. FitzSimmons discuss the odds. She'd be happy with him anywhere, but she's sick of space. Fitz turns on the machine. And then......they go to the window. It's the moon and Earth!

Sarge in Command. Team wants to know how the Shrike can destroy the planet. Sarge is anxious to get his keys and leave. Mack says you get your keys when we get answers. He tells them he needs to kill a beast at a specific spot. He wants his crew. Mack barters with him. He wants insurance. When this is done, you and I will have an unvague conversation about who you are and where you're from. Pick one.

He takes Snow. May and Daisy coming along. May says we're here to help. Daisy says I'm a hacker. I hack computers. He asks if she can handle weapons, know how to fight. Heh. Sarge tells Mack this mission depends on stealth. A part shorts out. Shrike repellent. He needs Pax.

Mack goes to Deke to get him to fix it. Deke is not interested. Says he has a shaman that can help them with their energies. Mack is a share holder! 2% for keeping his mouth shut. He threatens to show Daisy. Deke offers 5%. Mack says 10% and you stop stealing SHIELD tech. Deke says it's extortion and not cool. Heh.

So now he's fixing the repeller. Snow wants to see his soul. Sarge tells her hands off. Deke says he'll fix it in 2 hours. Sarge orders Daisy to sit with him in the cab. Mouth shut, eyes on the road, we'll get along just fine.

Mack tells Davis to get the Zephyr ready. We could be facing another extinction level event. Mack needs YoYo on his side for this one.

Izel is humming over a Shrike bat. Figured she was the maker.

**FitzSimmons won't take it well when they learn they brought Earth's destruction to Earth.
**Daisy's hair looks blonder in this episode.

Sarge's men on the Zephyr. Mack says we're going wherever Sarge is going. He says that's a stupid idea. Mack asks why is that? Won't say. Then enjoy the ride.

Daisy staring at him. Doesn't it bother you. Sarge says if you're going to steal, steal from the best. She tells him they have the same DNA. There has to be a reason. A connection. Otherwise it's too random. He says all he's seen is random. He tells her the only questions that matter are how we stop the monster and how to survive if we fail? She wants to know if his people died. He says they're gone and I'm going to kill her. Izel. The monster's name is Izel.

FitzSimmons bickering. They're trying to get comms running to contact Earth. Anxious to contact our friends and get home. Izel is afraid she'll never see hers again. Simmons says they'll help. Izel is grateful. There isn't much kindness in the universe. The monoliths were stolen from her world over a millennia ago. Izel went to the Chronicoms. But the whole planet was destroyed. The same will happen to Earth if I don't find those artifacts. They were created to connect life together. There's someone not interested in that. He murdered my crew and won't stop trying to destroy me. Why? I know how he is and what he is.

YoYo and Mack checking in. She tells him to not let Sarge get to him. Everyone at SHIELD looks up to you. Benson is sending a report.

Ship is almost at Earth.

Crewman eats a puffy. Izel comes to him. She gave him the bat.

Deke asleep in a hammock. Snow grabs him.

Sarge kicked Daisy out of the cab to the back. Talking with May. Is this a sick cosmic joke? He's bad news. I don't believe a word he says. May says she feels she can trust him. Daisy doesn't agree. Has all the questions about Izel.

Mack and YoYo. Izel keeps popping up in Incan mythology. Thousands of years ago she escaped from a realm of fear and darkness. She tried to track down the monoliths to regain power. Destroyed worlds for them.

The truck stops. Deke and Snow were making out. Sequoia left him. Snow Bunny gets me. May and Daisy are disgusted. The repeller stopped working. Sarge attacked Deke about it. Fix it! Morning. Anyone hungry?

Toad would never leave the puffies behind. Something's up. Jemma tells Fitz she tried one by mistake. He says you're being cagey again. She doesn't know what he means. Then confesses about seeing him in the monkey costume. Then they're bickering about things again.

And the news breaks in about the earthquake a few minutes ago.

6.9 at 8:19 in Ridgecrest, same place as yesterday.

And the news is talking to a resident, so I don't know when the channel will return to the episode! 8:39 PM now.

8:47. Still news.

TVLine has the rest of the ep:

In private, FitzSimmons concur that the artifacts Izel seeks are the Kree monoliths — which, Jemma explains to Fitz, have all been destroyed. That update leads into a pretty hilarious conversation about the wedding Fitz missed, how he is jealous of her first husband, and the wedding night prowess of his own that he must live up to/surpass.

As for Izel, what/who is she, really? Because while FitzSimmons unsuccessfully try to get comms working to contact their friends on Earth, we see Izel “mother” a wee shrike, with which she later infests crew member Toad. Toad and his similarly possessed buddy then join Izel and her zombie-like army in the halls, as the ship begins its descent, with FitzSimmons thus far none the wiser.

Back on Earth, Benson relays research suggesting that the creator Sarge has spoken of is a demon named Izel, and that the artifacts she is after are the Kree monoliths. Pax and Jaco, meanwhile, have been detained via chains and the containment pod, respectively. After Pax comes up short with an escape attempt (that nonetheless kills a S.H.I.E.L.D. red shirt), he blabs that Sarge’s plan involves a bomb. That information is quickly relayed to Daisy and May, who confront Sarge. Thing is, he has already armed the bomb and set the truck on auto pilot. And any quaking from Daisy, to stop him, might set it off prematurely. Sarge escapes to the truck roof, where he creates one of those interdimensional portals and uses it to step onto the Zephyr, right where Pax and Jaco are being held. Daisy, May, Deke and Snow, meanwhile, are left behind, quite trapped inside the truck and barreling toward the shrike tower. All while Izel and her ship begin their approach for a landing.

Will Mack shoot down the alien ship, not knowing FitzSimmons are aboard? Will he take out Sarge’s truck before the bomb with a 200-mile blast radius goes off, sacrificing May, Daisy and Deke in the name of a greater good? Will Deke be able to disable the bomb of Sarge’s he just uncovered?

Next week - part 2.
