"Present Tense"
ECHO KELLUM GUEST STARS – When a mysterious new Deathstroke appears in Star City, Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Team Arrow insist on taking down this villain themselves. Meanwhile reeling from the loss of one of their own, the future Team Arrow figures out a new way to try and stop JJ. Episode 4:
Dad? William hugs Oliver. Mia? Connor says Dad, you're so young. Dig asks how they got here. Oliver says those are my kids. Mia asks how this is real? Rene says good question. Oliver tells them they have a daughter Mia. We didn't tell anyone. We kept her off the grid to protect her. Connor tells Diggle you adopted me. William says he hasn't yet. I think we're in the past. No gray hair, no wrinkles. What year is this? 2019. What year is it supposed to be? 2040.
Rene jokes to Diggle about not throwing up like usual. Dinah understands about Oliver's Monitor secret. Dig says Laurel's on her way. Rene wonders what game the Monitor is playing?
Mia and William and Connor. She asks if he got JJ. He says I was going to kill him and then I was here. William says the current JJ is what, 5? Connor says if Diggle finds out, he won't want me. Mia says don't tell them anything. What's done is done.
The apartment. William says it looks like I did when I was 13. Oliver says we left suddenly for the cabin. We planned to come back at some point. William says you sort of disappeared. Oliver says you grew up with each other? William says now, we found each other recently. Mia says it was just me and Mom at the cabin. Oliver wants to be caught up. Mia says she's tired and wants to sleep. Oliver tells them to make themselves at home. She goes into the bedroom. OIiver's going to call Felicity. William says you can't. Maybe we need to understand what this is. Good point. Oliver wants to know something good about the future. William tells him about his tech company. Kind of a mogul. Oliver says I'm going to be really proud of how you turned out. William tells him he's gay. Oliver knows. You know? Yeah. Felicity and I knew. We hoped you would come out to us when you were comfortable. William says we all have the chance to get to know each other now. Mia can be stubborn and hard to read sometimes. they chuckle about that.
Hospital. Man is brought in with a bomb stuffed in his gut. Doc yells at everyone to run. Bomb goes off.
Deathstroke person here. Red and black mask, so it seems JJ was brought to the past, too.
Starling General attacked last night. Deathstroke orchestrated the attack. Slade? No. He's nowhere near Star City and neither is his son. Rene asks about Zoe. Are you still friends? William says you'd be proud. Curtis comes in talking in fast-forward. Rene finds out he becomes mayor. Mia wants to go. Curtis wants comment on his beard. Oliver asks Mia to stay. She wants to be outside, not in the bunker. She and William leave. Oliver gives Curtis fabric clipped by the Earth 2 wave of energy. It's probably powerful enough to stop a god.
John tells Connor that Lyla is still off the grid. We always wanted JJ to have a brother. Meets Dinah. Connor has seen the evidence before. Do you have a black light? Star City's cancer is the rich. Connor gets a ring from Mia.
They discuss. Maybe JJ came back, too. Connor says it's JJ's favorite catch phrase. William wants to tell team Arrow. Mia and Connor disagree. Mia says it's on us to avenge Zoe. She asks Connor where he would go. Where it all began.
Where the Deathstrokes started. Something on the wall is blinking. Find a dead man. Mia steps on a pressure sensor. JJ and his Deathstrokes come in. Except it's not JJ. Grant! Who is JJ? Then the bad guys run. Door blows down. It's Team Arrow with Laurel. Oliver freezes the sensor and they all run with seconds to spare from the bomb.
**So who is Grant? Why does Connor recognize him?
**Nyssa's training either missed a lot of Mia's dumb and has an impulse disorder.
Oliver asks them why they were there with no back-up. Grant Wilson leads the Deathstrokes in the future. Dinah asks why Connor yelled JJ's name. Diggle wants answers. Connor tells them Grant trained JJ and he took over the Deathstrokes. William says there's something else. Future Star City is a terrible place. It's run by gangs. Politicians are corrupt. We thought we could stop JJ. But Zoe was with Mia and...... JJ killed her. I'm so sorry, Rene.
Rene outside. John wants to talk about it. They're angry. Maybe we can change the future. Rene says what if what we do today doesn't make a damn bit of difference. Connor apologizes. John tells him to tell everything now. Connor says you made me who I am. A soldier just like you. JJ resented it. Maybe if I'd been a better son, JJ wouldn't have broken bad and Zoe would be alive. John says you've lied to me. What do you want me to say?
William tells them about the Canaries. Since the wall came down, we've been trying to make things better. Mia says we have to stop Grant Wilson before he screws up everyone's future. Grant Wilson became cult hero. His home base blown up didn't happen before. Maybe it changes things. Mia wants to do something. Oliver says we will once we know Grant's plan.
Rene and Zoe got ice cream. Dinah meets up with them. Sit on a bench. He doesn't know how he can live with knowing what happens. She says try to change things. Every single day.
Mia and Oliver arguing about what's wise now. You're letting your decisions be led by your emotions. Mia accuses him of putting the mission above the family. I learned to live without you. He's not letting her out. She says Nyssa trained me. You're just some guy in my way. Laurel offers to go with her. Oliver lets them in the elevator. William wants him to see a live feed. Grant Wilson Deathstroke talking to the city. It begins tonight.
**Slade had 2 sons? Did we know this in the show? Ah, right, from the alternate future on LoT. He was hidden by his mother. 2046, he had cut off Oliver's arm. Connor Hawke was the new Green Arrow in that future. Legends helped him and old Oliver take down Grant.
Dinah says it's too easy. Connor says it is. The video is a mislead. I was undercover with them a while. Oliver asks what is Grant planning? Connor doesn't know, but something big. William called in Curtis to decrypt the drive. William using Felicity's search algorithm now. Dinah tells John that she spoke to Rene. Nudges him to talk to Connor. Are you avoiding him? Maybe. John's head is spinning. I want to blame someone and don't know who. I'm his father. This is on me. I failed Andy. So yeah, blame is definitely on me. Dinah tells him what she told Rene. We've seen our worst. Now let's be our best.
Laurel and Mia. Mia says I don't need a babysitter. Laurel says you been backup when you kill Grant Wilson. I'd never tell anyone to listen to Oliver Queen. He's kind of a dick. If you want to kill Wilson, have it. I want to know why. Mia says he always escapes. He has to die so Zoe can live. Laurel says vengeance only causes you more pain. I talked your mom out of killing Ricardo Diaz. She never regretted changing her mind. Maybe you should, too.
Oliver. William says Mia's back. Curtis almost has the crack. William admires him. Curtis is married now. You're brooding about Mia, right? Oliver admits it. I chose to go with The Monitor. I abandoned her. I haven't earned a say. William says you should. I left you to live with Grandma and Grandpa. I hated you for abandoning me. Push a little more. Try harder. That's all any child wants from their parents. William says it's okay. I'm glad you're in my life, then and now. Mia will, too. Curtis has something. Siege 2.0 is tonight. Coordinated bomb attacks. Relay device under the tower. Disable and turn off the bomb. Dig says maybe we stop it by running the same play as last time. Rene isn't mad at them. Oliver says we need to keep the public calm this time. They all agree we have to do things differently this time. Suit up. (Curtis' favorite part.)
Oliver tells Mia to stay close. Curtis on overwatch. Team Arrow coming in. See a Deathstroke talking to a camera. Let's make Star City great again.
Dinah gives orders at the police station. Rene says he has a press conference in the works. Man activates a device under a chair. Puts on a Deathstroke mask. Dinah finds the bomb.
Laurel and Diggle find another bomb.
Mia and Oliver fighting the minions.
Connor recognizes the bomb. William and Curtis tell them what to do.
Mia fighting in a corridor alone. Slow motion arrow and hair flick. Oy.
Oliver wraps up Grant. Mia's pissed he prohibited her shot.
Connor disables the bomb.
William says things have never not been tense around here, huh? Curtis offers a gummy bear.
Oliver is not letting Mia kill Grant. Hate me if you want.
**Ten minutes left. 2040 probably has to look at least a little different now.
Bunker. Grant will be transferred to Blackgate. They'll keep an eye on him. Oliver tells the kids they held their own tonight. Oliver asks Mia if she's okay. She says I would've killed him. Oliver says you didn't want to. She thanks him.
John asks Connor if he's ready to go home. Connor doesn't want to be a bad reminder. John says you are my family, son. Connor's sorry. John is sorry, too. We're going to figure this out.
Rene is still giving a speech tomorrow. He's not going to keep Zoe from training. Laurel and Dinah says we just do the good stuff from the future. Rene agrees, why wait?
Oliver takes Mia to Robert's grave. I didn't get to know the real him until after he died. I don't want that to be us. She says you've lost people right? Does that guilt ever leave? No. You can learn to live with it. I can help you with that, if you'd like.
Rene talking to The Glades. You know we've been counted out a lot. Low income. Uneducated. A lost cause. You hear that enough times, you hope things get better....later. I'm tired of waiting.
John and Connor doing kali.

Rene says we make our future now.
Oliver made food for the kids. Phone rings. Curtis. Do you want the long version or short version? It can be replicated. I don't have the tools. And it requires plutonium. But there's a general. In Russia.
Laurel is visited by the Monitor. He says he can restore Earth 2. Betray Oliver Queen.
