Episode 2:

12 hours ago. The RV park. Gambler approaches his trailer. Lucky number 7. Looks around, holding his suitcase, and is pleased. Combination 777. Clothes, and the baby photo. Rubber duck. He's dancing! Irons his suits and hangs them up. Sets his laptop on the table.

Outside, an SUV. Crusher.

Gambler making himself at home. Opens his laptop to search for Becky.

Crusher wants payback, but leaves before the Gambler sees him. Someone else observed.

Gambler drops the gun in the trashcan. The Shade enters his trailer.

Garage. Who murdered The Gambler? Courtney wants to solve it. Kids think Cindy did it. Cindy said she came to see if the Gambler knew about the Gang. She found the trailer and Gambler like that. She picked up the gun and it accidentally went off. (Derringers are not known for their stability.) Courtney found the letter to Becky. Gambler wasn't shot. Yolanda keeps insisting Cindy did it. Courtney brings up the laptop. Beth hasn't tracked it. Courtney says Find the laptop, find the killer. Sylvester is suspicious. The Gambler wasn't murdered until he returned to Blue Valley. The former villains are all suspects, including Cindy Berman.

Courtney in her room. She reads the letter the Gambler wrote to his daughter.

Cindy setting up a science experiment? Her shoulder hurts. She drinks a purple liquid.

**Hmm, I wonder if her father had to maintain her changes with substances and without him, she has troubles.

The woods. Rick back at Grundy's grave. Undisturbed.

Pat tells Courtney she'll be late for school. Finds her holding the letter. She's read it a dozen times. The Gambler wrote a letter to his daughter. I think he really was trying to be better, Pat. You know what I would've given to have my dad say half the things in this letter to me? She's going to find his killer and find Becky and give her this letter. Pat says sounds like a plan. He and Sylvester will question the villains while she's at school.

Jakeem and Mike with newspapers. Mike says if we catch the killer, they'll have to take us seriously. The genie loves Columbo.

Barbara at work. They're talking about the trailer park incident. There's a jerk in the building. Paula in the office. We didn't do it. We'd never be that sloppy. Ditching the corpse is 101. We're home with our daughter again and that is everything. She asks if Courtney mentioned Artemis helping. We're doing everything to fit in here! Paula asked to bake a German Chocolate Cake for the Rotary Club. Barbara has to explain why making it yourself means more than buying it. Paula asks if she knows how to bake? Not at all.

Courtney says the official cause of death was blunt force trauma. Beth details the autopsy report. Broken bones. Yolanda adds the Stab wound in the heart. Cindy arrives. She's upset they met without her. Is this another meeting? Courtney trying to keep peace. Yolanda keeps pushing. Cindy insists she's innocent. Beth reminds about the laptop. Courtney motions Cindy to sit. Sounds great.

The diner. Bringing tea to the Shade. He tries it. My dear Maria, Earl Gray himself could not have brewed a finer cup! After 44 attempt, this is the utter pinnacle of perfection. Bravo! Sylvester and Pat arrive. We need to ask you some questions. Where were you last night? I saw Sharp yesterday, though well before he died. I saw him in this very booth. We had an unpleasant exchange. So I went to him and said I'm willing to let the past go. Sylvester doesn't believe him. Shade says can you credit me with a little subtlety? He says if I was going to kill the Gambler. Or you, for that matter, I'd say something far more eloquent. Sylvester grabs him. This isn't over, Shade. It never is. Poor Pat trying to keep the peace. Shade asks Maria for a refill.

Sylvester tells Pat you're the sidekick. I take the lead. Pat says that doesn't work here. Blue Valley is a small town. You scared those people! They're just trying to enjoy a cheeseburger. Sylvester thanks him for steering him in the right direction and says he has to cool off.

Courtney in class. Sylvester appears outside the door! She asks to be excused. What are you doing here? Sylvester came to level her up. Like Frogger.

**Wow, does Starman know how to people? Did he ever?

Cameron in painting class. He's struggling. Knocks the canvas aside. Cam? You okay? He apologizes to the teacher and says he needs to take a break.

Courtney holding the staff. Sylvester wants her to know all it can do now there's a killer on the loose. She shows him what she can already do. He claps. Maybe you should teach me. His example is more martial arts. then he gets the glow in his eyes and his body and shoots up into the sky.

Barbara and Paula trying to bake. It's burnt. Definitely doesn't look like the picture. Well, 3rd time's a charm. Pat asks if Courtney is here.

Sylvester called it the shooting star. Tells her how to channel the positive power to do it. When you're ready, slam the staff into the ground and hold the hell on. She tries and it doesn't work. She was thinking about not screwing up. He says give yourself credit for the hope you give people around here. The love you have for everyone. She tries again. More focused. All the memories. Her eyes glow. And shoots up into the sky. Multiple booms in the air.

High school. Mike and Jakeem in the bathroom. Jakeem says your dad said we should only use the pen in emergencies! Mike tells him to read a wish. It's foolproof. Jakeem takes the pen out and reads the wish. The genie writes on the wall. The killer has many names! Mike isn't pleased. They leave.

Sylvester and Courtney. He wants to apologize to the Shade. Sylvester says I came to make peace. I was out of the line at the time. Shade says if I was going to kill Sharp, I'd drag him into the Shadowlands. Sylvester brings up the hero names that died fighting the Shade. Shade says Has Pat told you about your funeral, yet? The rest of the JSA got rousing memorials. But for you, Pat Dugan was the only one there. Nobody wants you back. Nobody wants you here. Do us all a favor. Give her the staff and go. Sylvester blasts the Shade with the staff. You killed the JSA! She yells stop! Cosmo returns to her. Shade says he was teaching Maria how to make tea last night. She might be the finest tea maker in all the world now. Sylvester apologizes. Courtney pleads, but the Shade says he can't stay. I have problems of my own to attend to. Turns into shadow and disappears. Sylvester says I screwed up.

Barb and Pat admonishing Courtney and Sylvester. Seeing the Shade.....it took me back. Shade told me the key to stopping Eclipso was to kill Bruce Gordon. We killed a man in cold blood. It all started with the Shade. JSA broke up. Got back together. Still broken. It's not him I'm mad at......it's me. I killed the Justice Society. Why did I get to come back? Why am I here and not them? Sorry. He leaves the living room.

Rick working on the hourglass. Beth thought he did. Rick thought so, too, but the timing's off. I'm supposed to be Hourman. But it's completely random. I can't have my powers drop out mid-fight. Shade arrives. Beth says you don't look so good. He says he's leaving Blue Valley, for now. This town is too small for the vast egos of Sylvester and myself. I wanted to apologize for not being helpful with Grundy's return. But don't give up. Shade disappears again.

Sylvester and Cosmo talking. Courtney finds him in the basement. You okay? I'm alive. She says Pat's taught me a lot, too. My whole like can't be Stargirl. I need to be Courtney Whitmore, too. He says you have a great life here. She says you can do that, too. Blue Valley has been a second chance for me. For a lot of people. It can be that for you, too. Sylvester says maybe. I don't think the Shade killed the Gambler. So who else is there?

Cameron at home. Every time I try to paint now, it hurts. Grandparents say he's destined for greater things than art. So much greater.

Cindy has the laptop! Needs the password.

Crushers at the gym. Only a matter of time before they find out. I know.

Next week - Grocery store battle between Sylvester and the Crushers.
