"Head On"
DAVID RAMSEY DIRECTS - Clark (Tyler Hoechlin) and General Lane (Dylan Walsh) are both having a hard time giving Lois (Elizabeth Tulloch) room to make her own decisions. Meanwhile, Lana (Emmanuelle Chriqui) and Sarah (Inde Navarrette) have a run-in with an old friend at the diner. Lastly, Natalie (Tayler Buck) has a surprise visitor. Episode 5:
Lois packed for chemo. She wants to be at the boys' Valentine's Dance. Put on a suit and maybe comb your hair. jordan says it's been 3 weeks of cold showers because Candice never lets me in the bathroom! Lois took her dress shopping. She's super supportive.
Clark and Sam. He's not okay with Lois getting treatment at Bruno Mannheim's hospital. At least keep her away from the kids' dance tonight. She should be home resting. Clark supports his wife. Lois says I'll see you at the dance, Dad.
Nurse tells them they're ready for her. She gets a chemo port installed. Looks at words of hope messages on a wall. Sits for chemo to get plugged in. Clark in the other chair watching. He has to feel so helpless. She says it's not so bad here, huh? not so bad.
Lana and Sarah having a meal. Sarah's looking at her phone. Lana asks if she's excited about the dance tonight. Then Lana gets a text about a statement on a construction delay. George Junior's not nice to Lana. You cheated to beat my dad.
Sam and Nat on the farm on ATVs. Last one home buys lunch! She speeds past. He catches up next to the barn. You're so lucky I'm vegan. Who's that with Jordan? Jordan found him in town looking for ya. Matteo?
Lois wants to sneak into files. Clark reminds her that the anti-nausea meds may make her weak. She tells him to stay and cover for her.
Brunoi with a subject. He's told Lois Lane has settled into the hospital. DiStefano is suited up and powered up. He phases through a wall to leave, clear on his orders.
Sam has questions about Nat's boy friend. He's suspicious. Matteo found Sarah online and asked for Nat's number. Sarah told him to come to Smallville and see her in person. Jordan says he seems cool. Sam's not impressed and still suspicious.
Nat says this time I'll give you my number. He suggests going to the movies. She says she's already going to a formal dance tonight. He says he'll pick up a suit.
Clark is making other patients nervous. Lois Lane, right? He says she's doing great. They ask how he's doing. I just want her to get better. Ahhh sounds like every other spouse. Have a seat.
Lois wandering the halls on target.
Jon stops to help Kyle with his truck. You're the first one to stop. Jon just wanted to make sure he's okay. Kyle suggests he come help at the fire station. Your weekends free? Yes, sir. Then stop by next Saturday. Kyle just had fixed a flat tire, so Jon and Candice leave.
Lana and Chrissy in Lana's office. Lana tells her about Junior and Chrissy says he's not the only person to feel that way. Lana says she has plenty of proof of George robbing the town blind. Chrissy says she'll help her clear the air. Or people will keep blaming her.
One of the patients is in relapse. The other woman's daughter died of breast cancer. 37. The first patient falls asleep. Clark tells the second woman he's really sorry about her daughter.
Lois snags a badge to get into an office and onto a computer. Bruno comes in!!
Gotta hand it to you, coming to my hospital for treatment so you can investigate at the same time. She asks where's Dr. Hook? Making rounds. Bruno says you want to know something, just ask. She pushes. He says this is a cancer facility. We save lives. She doesn't believe him. He raises the blinds so she can see the research below.
The dance. Matteo arrives in a suit. Sarah and Nat bring him in.
The ladies keep chatting with Clark. Everyone experiences it uniquely. The pull. This disease, it tests every part of you. At some point, you get this feeling, this pull, that it'd be so much easier to let go. The feeling to give into the disease gets to be so strong. The drive your wife has? She'll need all that energy to survive. Nurse asks Clark where's your wife?
Lana address the dance attendants. Mold remediation is nearly done. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Please have a great night. Sarah tells Nat and Matteo to dance and follows her mom. Candice tells Jon that her aunt says she can live with her in Topeka. We can still see each other on weekends. She pulls him to dance. Matteo tells Nat she looks so beautiful. Nat suddenly bolts.
Bruno shows Lois around. His mother fell ill when he was 14. Our neighborhood was built next to a chemical waste dump no one knew was there. After she died, I realized no one was coming to save us. So I'd do it myself. Everything you see here is an extention of that belief. I'll do everything in my power to save your life. But if you try to stop me from helping Hobbs Bay.... There's a knock. He tells her to get back to the treatment center. He'll send Dr. Hook's files.
**Hmm, is Bruno a bad guy for a good cause? As the saying goes, every villain is the hero of their own story.
Lois and Clark home. Come on, the dance has already started. He sighs.
jon asks Kyle if he can volunteer during the week instead. Kyle says you'll have to figure out which one is more important to you.
Sam finds Nat. Say the word and I'll scare the living hell out of that kid. She says he didn't do anything wrong. It's me. Sam suggests she talk about it. She says she's never kissed or dated before. I'm so far behind everyone on this kind of stuff. Sam says his last relationship was when his wife left him over 30 years ago. She thinks she can't go back in there. He'll think I'm a weirdo. Sam disagrees. Why am I so scared? Because love is scary. But you're the toughest kid I know. You can do this.
Sam finds Junior. He's crying in the parking lot. She holds him.
Candice confronts Jon. She thinks they can make it long distance. He tells her he can only volunteer on the weekends. She says he can't turn it down. You're not. He asks when they'll see each other? She says they'll figure it out. They love each other. Kiss.
Kyle and Chrissy. He thinks the dance is boring. Lana asks them if they've see Sara. Nope. She leaves. Chrissy wants to go. Kyle says no. I think the Cush could use your help with something. He gets a song change and starts dancing. Everyone cheers. Chrissy finally joins him. Then others. Now it's a lively dance!
Lois dressed. Clark isn't. He wants to hang out at home. Sometimes it feels like no one's having an opinion about your treatment other than you. She says because it's happening to me. He says everything he's read and everyone he's talked to says she needs to rest. She says she will, but not tonight. She insists on going to the dance. It's very important to me, so get dressed.
DoD under attack! I want access to your biggest secrets. UH OH.
Clark still wants to talk. But then he hears trouble. Tells her to wait for him, then speeds out.
Superman at the DoD. DiStefano puts a link on the server. Superman breaks in. Can't hit DiStefano. Who has a Kryptonite knife. Superman's weak and getting beat around. Then manages to recover. Sticks the villain in a wall. Too late, Superman. Transfer complete, though!
Nat tells Matteo to stay. Can we pick up where we left off? He says whatever you want.
junior apologizes to Sarah for what he said at the diner. She says they can start again. He's got a flask. Sarah toasts his dad. this is terrible. He says his dad only drank the cheap stuff. Lana arrives and tells Junior to go inside. Then starts in on Sarah. Sarah explains that she only came out to check on Junior. He's grieving his dad. Now all he has are memories. I was just trying to be a good friend. Lana says I understand. Just next time, no drinking. Come on. The dance is almost over.
Clark returns to the house. Lois is on the couch. You okay? Not really. I want to go so badly, but I can't. You were right. I need you to keep sharing with me. Promise? Promise. He holds her.
**Cancer doesn't care if you're used to kicking ass and taking names. No debillitating illness does. One of the hardest things for an adult to face is your body working against you no longer responding like it once did.
Kids come home. Please tell me you got pictures. Candice apologizes. They forgot. Clark turns on music and moves the coffee table. They slow dance in the living room. Jordan sits with Sam. Shows him "Senior Swipe". Maybe you can find your next dance partner. Jordan assk to dance with his mom. Clark's happy. Lois notices that Jordan washed his hair. I love you, Mom. Clark loves her, too.
Kyle and Chrissy in bed again, in the morning. Phone buzzing. Lana texting. She needs to see Chrissy.
Chrissy finds her on a bench. What's up? I don't want to go public with the stuff about Dean. What changed your mind? Lana thinks the truth will hurt more than it heals. She'll name the new town hall after George.
Candice is packed. Lois says if she needs anything at all... Candice hugs the family. Clark tells them to drive safe. Sam is in uniform. Deadline got the locations of sensitive assets. They raided them.
They have Bizarro's body!
April 25 - Jordan's frustrated with Clark's lessons. Superman gets into trouble and Lois tells Jordan to save his father.
