“Schism”
OLIVER TEAMS UP WITH A SURPRISING FORCE TO STOP DAMIEN DARHK – Oliver (Stephen Amell) teams up with a surprising force in an attempt to stop Damien Darhk (guest star Neal McDonough) and his magic once and for all. Ep 23:
Damian sends Curtis flying. Then grabs Donna. Damian makes Felicity choose. Green Arrow bursts in. Damian says those were nice windows, lol. There's nothing you can do to stop me. Or should I say, us. Ghosts flood in. Arrow confronts Damian. Speedy comes in with Damian's daughter. He releases Oliver. Then escapes. Oliver rushes to Curtis. Felicity notices that the laptop is gone.
Curtis brought into the bunker. Diggle and Oliver work on saving him. Felicity, get on the computer.
Island. Oliver shot. Reiter vs. Taiana. Plane is in the air. Oliver says this is over! Reiter blows it up. Taiana attacks him.
Curtis stable for the moment. Felicity asks Oliver why Damian's magic worked. He says that was before he got so powerful. She says Darhk hasn't launched the nukes, yet. Lyla arrives. Sara's in Coast City. She asks why is Damian moving forward with Genesis? Thea is staying positive.
They track the laptop. To HIVE base. Over 15K missiles just launched. We have 2 hours - or less.
Lyla on the phone. Felicity is locked out. Star City has 45 minutes.
Island. Reiter starts trying to kill Taiana. Oliver throws a knife into his back.
Quentin gets to the bunker. She tells him to get her mother to a safe place. John and Lyla talk to Sara on the phone. Lyla says there's a chopper to take us to Coast City. He's fresh out of hope. She says Andy was a clean kill. Oliver tells Lyla to pull ARGUS away from City Hall. They'll all die. She says it's her call.
Damian's daughter doesn't like his cave. it's scary. She misses Mommy. He does, too. We'll see her soon. ARGUS soldiers come in.
They listen to the attack. The dying. Lyla says turn it off. John goes after her. Felicity in. Ghosts raid the bunker.
**Gotta love how this whole missile story has had zero relevance to actual real life. Arrow, can you stop assuming your audience is stupid and won't notice things? Or writers, DO YOUR RESEARCH and write PLAUSIBLE STORIES. I wish Berlanti was still in daily control of this show! It REALLY shows that he's not. Seasons 1 and 2 were great, sigh.
They try to fight back. Oliver rushes to his weapons. Lyla shoots when Diggle hesitates. Malcolm helps Thea. What a mess.
Island. Taiana losing sanity. Attacks Oliver. Then apologizes. It's boiling my mind. He says we'll find a way to work around this. She says you have to kill me, Oliver.
News talks about the imminent attack. Oliver asks if everyone's alright. Felicity wonders about Laurel, stands up her mannequin. She says you've lost hope. I can see it in your eyes. Oliver says I was arrogant. It was foolish. I didn't believe it until Laurel died. Now I am left here to wonder if I hadn't....would Laurel still be alive? Curtis is up. Wants to provide a little optimism. Oliver says we've lost the city. Curtis says no. Living here requires tenacity. A sane person wouldn't live here. The night before we were packing, the Green Arrow popped up on TV and said this city was worth saving. That guy gave me inspiration, gave me hope. If he could do that then, why can't he do it for others now?
Panic and rioting in the streets. Oliver addresses them on top of a taxi. I don't know how we begin what might happen to us right now, but this city has been through tough times before and we have pulled through! Survived the Undertaking, the Siege, and the Outbreak, and we will survive this. This is our home. Our. Home. We will look to each other for hope and strength, and if we do that, we will stand united.
Curtis and Felicity get an idea to take out the missile. It's getting really close. Curtis rambles in case they die. She says talking isn't helping. She redirects the missile.
Crowd cheers. Oliver is relieved.
Back to the bunker. Felicity gives the tech to Lyla. Malcolm says we need to destroy this at the source. Oliver starts giving out instructions. John wants to go with him. Your speech inspired all of us.
Island. Taiana pleads with Oliver to kill her before she becomes worse than Reiter. Don't forget your promise. He won't. Hugs her. I'm sorry. And breaks her neck. Slaves arrive.
John suiting up. Lyla won't ask if he's alright. You froze. I've never seen you do that before. Let's at least go out being honest with each other. He says it was Andy. But not like I said, not like you think. It wasn't a good kill. I said it was self-defense, it wasn't. You must think I'm a monster. She says you did what you had to do. It's that simple.
Damian and daughter. Oliver arrives. She asks why is he here, Daddy? Darhk says he came here to die. Clearly.
Night. Green Arrow flying. Damian taunts him. Tosses him again.
Malcolm and Speedy make an opening. Felicity and Curtis come in.
Damian says this is a mercy killing on a global scale. My daughter. Mr. Lance. And don't get me started on your pain. City residents start yelling at Damian to get out of here and leave Green Arrow alone. Damian isn't impressed. He wants to cleanse the world of a millenia of rot. I will do it! Oliver says no you won't. Damian asks how will you stop me? Oliver says because it's not just me. He cuts Damian. And Oliver is immune to the magic again. Damian says he's a former member of the League of Assassins. Doesn't need magic. They fight.
Cooper shot. He has the bullet moving closer and closer to his spine. Felicity asks for a moment alone NOW. Cooper apologizes. If I stop Rubicon, he'll know, and kill me in the most painful way possible. She tries to appeal to him. Remember when we wanted to save the world? Now's your chance. He types, then pushes the keyboard away.
Damian feels it. And starts killing Cooper. He screams. Felicity gets on the computer.
Oliver and Darhk fight again. Crowd cheering. Spartan and Lyla arrive. Damian brings his Ghosts. They all rush each other. Now it's a big melee.
Felicity says we have 3 minutes to turn off the nukes. Curtis says it's not the warheads, it's the missiles.
Damian has a bow. Fires at Oliver. Lance pulls Oliver up. Donna is safe. Oliver says Darhk is mine. Wades through the crowd to get to him. Slugging at each other now. No finesse. Oliver picks up an arrow. Damian says stop posturing. You can't do it. You spared the life of the man that killed your mother. Oliver says with Slade Wilson I had a choice. This time I don't. He stabs Damian.
Bunker. Lance is leaving to pack. IAB said the suspension is no longer a suspension. But all I could think of was laurel. He'll never forget Oliver got him some closure. Thea is ready to go find out who she really is. I'm my father's daughter, and thought of Laurel and what she'd say, and she'd tell me to get out before I lose too much of myself. I'm sorry, Ollie. He says you don't have to apologize to me ever. Felicity says it's just the three of us. Original gangstas. up top. Heh. Oliver asks Diggle if he's okay? Not really. He told Lyla about Andy. She understood, but I don't and never will. He's taking time away. Figure out how to get back on track. Oliver says you keep me in line. John says it's been the other way around, man. They shake hands.
Island. Oliver says she begged me to do it. It won't make a ton of sense, but it all has to do with that. It's darkness! Taiana was succumbing to that darkness. There's another way off the island. The graves. Taiana the most recent. Amanda Weller picks Oliver up. You saved a lot of lives. The only way out is through. He says I'm still filled with darkness. She says that will always be part of you. Sometimes killing is the only path to justice. The artifact is taken away. Oliver given a crate. Amanda says our business here is concluded, unless it's not. You can be useful across the globe, or go back to playing vigilante. he says neither. I have a promise to keep.
Oliver talking to Laurel at her grave. You okay? No. He tells Felicity that it's Thea and John.... I can't help thinking they were infected by my darkness. She says maybe. But you were able to save the city by giving it its hope back. What your feeling isn't darkness, it's a schism. Phone buzzes. Thomas Kemp, chair of the city council.
Interim appt. for Oliver as mayor. Are you sure about this? You look conflicted. Oliver is, but he's ready for this. Brought to his press conference to take the oath. He has it memorized. Congratulations. They clap for him.
Lance and Donna in a car.
Thea at home.
Diggle's place. John is in uniform again. Packing. He reenlisted. He kisses Sara, caresses Lyla.
Bunker still a mess. Oliver walks in. Suit pants are too short. Looks at the mannequins. Felicity there. You thought I was leaving, too? Not a chance.
