“Checkmate”
OLIVER SEEKS THE TRUTH — Oliver (Stephen Amell) gets closer to the truth about Prometheus. Meanwhile, Helix refuses to continue helping Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) until she does a favor for them. Episode 16:
Oliver reaches a monastery. Curtis says it's the place. Oliver enters. Ninjas sparring. He asks where is she? I'm a former student. He fights Talia's acolytes. Hold! Leave us. She won't apologize. You should not have come to this place. He says one of your former students is trying to kill me. She says he's trying to destroy you utterly. Oliver asks You knew? why didn't you warn me! She helped because Oliver killed his father and hers. My full name is Talia Al Ghul! He was still my father when you put a sword through his chest. Oliver says so that's why you won't help. Won't tell me who Prometheus us. She says of course I will, because I want you to suffer. he calls himself Adrian Chase.
Felicity in the tech HQ. They have real time feed from every cellphone in the world. More than the NSA does. Power to the people, right? Welcome to helix. We're going to change the world together.
Oliver returns to City Hall. Finds Adrian. Asks to talk in the office. Adrian says the councilman and I are on the clock. You look tired. Or have you been asleep this whole time?
Russia. gun fight in the bar. Anatoly's side vs. Gregor's. What a mess. All the captains are dead. Gregor will promote new ones and they will kill us all.
Green Arrow confronts Adrian. your big plan is arresting me? Oliver says I'm not going to kill you. Adrian says you've done everything I wanted so far. I gave your girlfriend an exclusive. Are you still dating Susan Williams? Hard to keep track. Bottom line, I die, she dies. I don't make it back in time, she dies. So Ollie, who do you think can last longer, Susan or me? I'm 10 steps ahead of you and you haven't even figured out what game we're playing yet. Adrian is amused at holding the power here.
He updates the team. Diggle says we underestimated this guy. Oliver says I did. I trusted him. Where is Felicity? Curtis answers. And Thea is fine. Oliver says we have to find Susan. We can't make a move until we know she's safe, she's here. And SCPD is out of this until we have something concrete. This guy has us in check.
Diggle and Oliver. What were you thinking confronting him in public? Oliver says Chase's house has a basement. Dig doesn't want to let him go alone.
Russia. Discussing what to do with Gregor. Oliver says kill him first. Where would he go now? to ground. Oliver knows where to find someone who can get in.
Curtis and Dinah at the mother's house. Hear a scream. Video feed of Prometheus with Susan. Now, give us another scream.
Rene and Quentin. Adrian is at City Hall. He's gloating. I take my job very seriously. Rene says I'm going to kill you and ways that will hurt. Quentin says this isn't over, you son of a bitch. Adrian says I want those verifications on my office tomorrow morning, dog. Quentin tells Oliver they are go to move on Chase's house.
Spartan upstairs, Arrow down. Meet in the middle. Basement seems empty.
Spartan looks around.
Green Arrow finds Mrs. Chase. She says get out of my house. Arrow says your husband is the Throwing Star killer and is holding a woman hostage. You have to know he's keeping something from you. Police come in. Adrian called them. They escort her out. Spartan leaves on Arrow's order. Arrow sets off a flashbang and escapes.
Showed the video at Arrow Cave. Oliver regrets getting involved with someone, putting them in danger. Felicity finally returns. He asks for the room. She says she's sorry. He's not angry. You don't work for me. I'm worried. She says of course. He says I'm worried about you. Because you're into something and don't want to tell anybody, or at least not me. Keeping secrets doesn't end well. She agrees. But right now isn't the time. Trust me, okay? Okay. She says it helped me go through the petabyte. Found Adrian's real name. Oliver congratulates her. Put it on a drive, I have to get to City Hall. Before the 11 o'clock news.
Adrian speaks to the press. Then gives Oliver the podium. This office is in complete agreement with DA Chase. I'm determined to bring it to a just end. I'm demanding the Green Arrow turn himself in. he has 24 hours before I'm ordering the SCPD to shoot on sight.
Oliver visits the captain. With the evidence that Adrian Chase is a false identity. He is Simon Morrison, and the Throwing Star Killer. Work the lead, Captain Pike. Consider that an order, if it helps. You didn't get that from me. He serves at the pleasure of the mayor.
Russia. Oliver shows Anatoly his Hood costume. A woman taught me to not let my darkness consume me. Anatoly says what's inside you is inside you. You can't set it apart. This woman doesn't know what she's talking about. If you're not careful, she will be the source of your greatest pain.
Felicity takes the video to Helix. But they say she has to help them, not just get helped. They're trying to get into a Homeland Security drone.
Captain in the alley. He gets stabbed.
Hospital. Quentin updates Oliver. Pike is comatose. Oliver says it's Chase. I gave Pike a lead connecting Chase with Prometheus. Adrian's in the room! Life is so fragile, isn't it? One little mistake and it all goes away. Oliver won't let him hurt anyone else. Adrian says you haven't done much to stop me. Oliver says me and my team will find Susan, and the second we do, I'm going to put an arrow through your heart. I don't feel like playing anymore. Adrian says you kill me, you kill Susan. Dead like your mother, like Tommy, like Shadow, like Laurel, etc. You're one loss from being destroyed. Oliver lets go. Adrian says we'll have to find another way to handle this. Kill me, you'll only be killing yourself.
Arrow Cave. Oliver starts beating on things and throwing them.
Russia. Ice rink. Gunfire outside. The Hood is in. With Anatoly. What is thing you're doing with your voice? LOL. They attack Gregor.
Felicity and Curtis. In the drone. Curtis wants to know why we're hacking drones instead of finding Susan?! This is straight up illegal. Spill 100% deets right now! She tells him about Helix without the name. And doesn't want his judgment. They don't know, do they? She says I'm a grown woman making grown decisions.
Diggle finds Oliver. Oliver doesn't know how to stop it. Dig says there's always options, and you're not alone. Oliver says you've convinced me I'm changing for the better. More optimism, more trust. I can't see anything past me creating more targets. Diggle says we're not targets. We're teammates. Your strength. Oliver says until Chase turns it into a weakness. I got close to Susan and gave him a way to get to me. With you, Felicity, my son.....all of you make me vulnerable, John. Diggle says caring about people makes you human. Oliver thinks that's a luxury he doesn't get to have. Phone call. Felicity found where Chase is keeping Susan. I'll beat this guy by playing his game. I know someone who makes him vulnerable.
The building. Multiple heat signatures inside. Spartan ETA 5 minutes. They enter the building. Curtis sends his drones out. Rene and Dinah check a room. Bomb! They're alive. But trapped. Oliver finds another bomb. Tells Curtis to get Rene and Dinah out. I'll get Susan. She's in an elevator. Doors close. Chase is controlling the elevator. He tells her to take it upstairs and get to safety.
Prometheus greets Oliver.
Curtis reaches Dinah and Rene.
Adrian takes off the mask. I prefer it this way, face to face. There's an honesty to it. Oliver wants to keep him here until the building comes down in top of them. Adrian won't allow that. Spartan brings the wife. You killed all those people! You killed them, it's simple. He says I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. Why did you make her come here? She says you have to stop. You have to turn yourself in. Whatever this is, it's over. Tell the police. Adrian says he'll take care of it and stabs her. Spartan carries her out. Oliver and Adrian fight. Oliver beats on him. They beat on each other.
Spartan gets her out. Tells the others to help Oliver now!
Adrian says I'm not going to kill you, and you can't kill me. Oliver says yes I can! Talia shoots Oliver and he passes out.
Team runs in and they're gone. Bow left behind.
Arrow Cave. Felicity asks where's Oliver? Dig says Adrian has him. Susan is at the hospital. Doris died. Felicity will find Oliver.
Russia. Taking out Gregor's men. Oliver gets Gregor. If you kill me, you'll only be killing yourself. Oliver kills him.
Susan and Quentin at the precinct. Adrian greets them. The Green Arrow kill my wife earlier tonight and the mayor is missing. You can't arrest me because you don't want your friend back in pieces.
Helix. Felicity working. Friend of mine is missing. We have no leads whatsoever. I have to use everything to find him, and do whatever yo need me to do.
Oliver with Talia and Adrian. He says your father was an honorable man. You've aligned with a psychopath and he would be ashamed of you. She says make sure he suffers. Adrian says that's the plan. Oliver says my friends will find me. They're my strength. Adrian says I confessed to Susan you helped me discover who I really am. That's what I'm going to do with you, Oliver.
Next ep - Confess your secret and all this ends. The truth will set him free.
