“The Longbow Hunters”
FELICITY IS DETERMINED TO FIND DIAZ AT ANY COST — In order to track down Diaz (Kirk Acevedo) from inside prison, Oliver (Stephen Amell) realizes that will require aligning with an old enemy. Meanwhile, in Star City, Felicity’s (Emily Bett Rickards) attempts to root out Diaz are thwarted by Diggle (David Ramsey), whose allegiance to ARGUS now requires him to keep civilians like her on the outs. Realizing that she can no longer rely on her old team or old methods, a clear-eyed Felicity resolves to find a new way to go after Diaz. Episode 2:
New Arrow narration from Oliver.
Oliver doing pushups again. In solitary. Guard comes for him after 2 days. People in here believe you're a hero. But we know better. Don't we? I asked you a question, inmate. Oliver says you don't know anything about me. Guard says he does. Grew up with kids like you. Rich. Entitled. Thought the law didn't apply to them. Now you're in here like every other criminal. Oliver says he'll do whatever he needs to for his family.
Oliver is released into the yard. Chats with the little guy. Oliver tells him to stop asking questions around here. It'll get you killed. He tells Oliver that they're all afraid of you after that beatdown, so I'm safe as friends with you.
Felicity with the friends. Drinking wine. Dinah put Laurel on protective detail as well. Felicity made a murder board about Diaz. Curtis wonders about the electronic jammer. She's tracking all the known associates. Like Longbow Hunters. Dinah says you don't have to do this alone. Rene points out the new Green Arrow again. Curtis says enough of this chat. They toast.
20 years in the future. William has an ex-boyfriend! Talking to future Roy. Catching up. William carrying the symbol of reconnection. 3 weeks ago, it started to beep. GPS coordinates for Lian Yu. Last time I was on this island was the day my mother died. Still have nightmares about it. Roy says looking for answers will only cause you pain. Throw that in the ocean and never look back.
Woman enters a building. Looking for Global Solutions. 2nd floor. She asks for a pen. Guard agrees. She taps into the security. Then bumps into a man in the elevator and steals his badge. Guard upstairs stops her. And a man kills him. He got bored. They continue to a secure panel. She uses the print from the pen to get in. #326. They fight with more guards. 3rd woman kills a guard from behind. They get into a lockbox and steal a device. She thanks the guard for the pen and hands it back. He asks how was the interview? She says I think I nailed it.
**So, we just met some Longbow Hunters. One brunette woman, one black woman with a sonic dampener, and one big dude with a shield who likes the violence. The women used finesse and precision.
Diggle debriefs ARGUS on the robbery. Ultra high density battery. Curtis didn't have security clearance to get in the briefing. Felicity pushing for info. These weapons were specific. Definitely the
Longbow Hunters. Diggle says we need to find them and shut them down. You have your assignments. Deputy Director Bell attended. ARGUS isn't chartered for criminal investigations. Recovering that tech is the objective. Diggle says yes, sir.
Felicity begs into the mission. Diggle tells her to trust him.
Dinah wants to talk to Laurel. You ditched your protective detail. Again. The officers had hearing loss and vertigo. The Longbow Hunters are in Star City. I don't care if Diaz kills you, but I do care if he kills the DA. And he killed Quentin, who everyone thinks is your father. Let them protect you. It's what he would've wanted. Laurel can take care of herself. Dinah stays to babysit. So Laurel tells her to get coffee. Never happening.
Oliver goes to the criminals for info on Diaz. Brick says doesn't ring any bells. Oliver says tell me where to find him. Brick says you're in prison and you're playing by the wrong rules. Prove yourself worthy of my friendship. Oliver asks what do you want? The guard gone. Why? No concern of yours. Take care of the guard and I'll tell you anything you want to know. Fine. Say anything to anybody and the deal is off.
Felicity hacking Interpol from inside ARGUS. Curtis tells her to not get her fired. Listen to John! She doesn't want to wait. Diaz found me anyway. Curtis looks for the power surge from the battery instead. A warehouse about an hour ago. She wants to go there. Curtis coming.
They bring Rene. I'm so proud. Curtis says don't encourage her. Heh. T-sphere scan complete. Hunters aren't home. She wants to go inside and put trackers on things. They find a locked door. And she triggered an alarm. ARGUS comes in. John is NOT happy to find them.
**Felicity continues to be reckless and risk other lives in the process. She's so arrogant! And foolish. Even after all these years, she charges into places completely unprepared to defend herself and face serious danger. She should be locked up for the good of humanity until the Diaz crisis is over. It's not funny anymore.
Diggle chews them out. She argues. Diggle tells Rene you're breaking the law. Felicity, ARGUS has its rules. What the hell are you thinking? The battery is a weapon. Direct to energy weapon that can flatten a city. Pack up the laptop and retrieve the data. Diggle tells Felicity that she just blew their best lead.
Oliver and his little friend. What would Green Arrow do? We need a computer. We'll have 2 minutes. Lights blow. Prisoners fight with guards. They use the distraction to get on a computer. Peter Yorke is the guard. Looking at his bio. Been in the prison for 12 years. A law-abiding jerk. Got a wife and a kid. They shut down and leave.
William wakes in the morning. Looks for Roy. Stubbornness must be hereditary. William spent over a billion dollars on tech. Hmm. Roy won't talk about the past. William pushes. this can't be a coincidence. Roy leads him somewhere.
Laurel skips out on Dinah.
Curtis gives Diggle a list of weapons that could be powered by the battery. Felicity comes in yelling again. He blocked her computer. He tells her our old life is over! Taking down Diaz will not change that. Oliver's gone and he's not coming back for a every long time. Accept that. She can't and won't. The old John would do anything to take down that monster. But you're here. You wouldn't even take up the Green Arrow mantle like Oliver asked you to. I'll stop Diaz even if I have to do it alone.
Oliver and the friend. Oliver won't ruin an innocent man. The criminals approach. They want him to kill Yorke. Use it or Brick will. Oliver takes the shiv.
**So William became a rich and brilliant inventor. Hmm. Built the Queen fortune again?
**Can Felicity die if she's going to go on these fool crusades with no training? So what if she has a smart tech brain. She ACTS too stupid to live. Oliver always deserved someone that acts like an adults and controls their emotions to make thought-through decisions instead of living on feelings.
Oliver let out of his cell. Yorke came to check for contraband. Oliver says someone in here wants you dead. I don't care if you quit or transfer, but do it today, understand? I'm trying to help you. Just want to do the right thing. Yorke says you turned the law into a joke. You invited criminals into your city. Maybe all you've done is make things worse. Oliver locked in his cell again.
Diggle asks Felicity to talk. He understands why she's angry. I have not forgotten Oliver or the team or you. I watched as you all lost everything important in life to that hood. I wanted to put it on, but I couldn't. I saw what the hood did to your family and I couldn't do it to mine. I couldn't ask Lyla or JJ to make that sacrifice. I'm honoring Oliver's mission here. She says Oliver's sacrifice is for nothing as long as Diaz is out there. Curtis found train schematics. Shipped out of Star City tonight. She wants to help. John says only if you do it the ARGUS way.
Dinah finds Laurel. How did you find me? I am a cop. What is this place? Diaz bought this place to renovate into his castle. Laurel says this is my fight. Dinah says you're going to kill him. Laurel hopes so. Dinah says SCPD will take him down the right way. Laurel doesn't care. He killed Quentin and I want him dead myself. Dinah says deep down you're still the lying murderer who killed the man I love. Laurel says she's not that person anymore, but someone has to get justice for Quentin, so don't you try and stop me. She enters the building.
ARGUS in position for the train.
ARGUS on the train. Felicity in the brain of the train. Coming up on a tunnel.
Laurel and Dinah looking around. They split up.
2 bogies in the baggage car. One right above you. Shield guy. He plows through ARGUS. John hurries to the weapon.
Laurel confronted by the sonic dampener woman. They're fighting and Dinah can't hear it.
John and ARGUS gassed by the brunette. They're trapped in the car. Diaz knocks and waves. Felicity gets a door open. Weapon is 2 cars in front of you.
Dinah finally finds them. They both scream at the woman and finally blow her at a wall. How the hell did she do that? No idea.
John tells Diaz to freeze and put his hands up. Diaz fires a flamethrower at him. John runs around to get close. Throws a knife into Diaz and wounds him. They fight hand to hand. The battery lands on the floor. John gets it. Uncouple the car! Felicity do it now! Curtis does it when she won't. Longbow Hunters lose this round.
**Thank you, John, for having the bigger picture in mind like a good soldier. It's the safety of the public and the mission that matters, not any one person. The good of the many, to quote Spock.
ARGUS HQ. Felicity thought she could do it John's way, then saw Diaz. She understands why he did what he did. I was wrong about what I said. But I can't rest until my family is safe. I need to work with someone whose focus is bringing down Diaz and that's not you. She leaves John and Curtis.
Brick tells Oliver the offer is about to expire. Oliver understands.
The island. Roy and William dig. Revealing a grave. Find the box with the original Green Arrow stuff hidden. William doesn't know why Felicity wanted him to have this. Roy does. He reads a tiny scroll and burns it. We're going back to Star City.
Police station. Laurel knocks at Dinah's office. She thanks Dinah for the backup. Also, from now on, I'll accept protection from the SCPD. Dinah appreciates that. Anything else? No. Actually, that's not it. I know Quentin wasn't my father, not the one that raised me, and I'd forgotten what it was like to have someone that care about me, and losing him was the worst pain I felt in a long time. I don't expect you to forgive me, but I'm truly sorry for Vince's death, and I hope one day you see I'm not that person. Not anymore.
Oliver and the little friend discuss. Oliver says my way is not working. I don't have a choice. He picks a fight with Yorke. Your wife and son know you're a dick? He provokes Yorke close and cuts his hand with the shiv and says you stabbed me! He stabbed me! Guards pull Yorke out professing his innocence and that he didn't touch Oliver.
Felicity comes to the FBI to push them to find Diaz. We're going to take down Ricardo Diaz together.
