"Past Sins"
DAVID RAMSEY DIRECTS HIS FIRST EPISODE OF ARROW — The past comes back to haunt both Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Laurel (Katie Cassidy). Curtis (Echo Kellum) is upset when he discovers that Diggle (David Ramsey) and Lyla (guest star Audrey Marie Anderson) have restarted The Ghost Initiative with Diaz (guest star Kirk Acevedo), China White (guest star Kelly Hu), Kane Wolfman (guest star Liam Hall) and Carrie Cutter (guest star Amy Gumenick). David Ramsey directed the episode written by Onalee Hunter Hughes & Tonya Kong (#711). Original airdate 1/28/2019.
Episode 11:
interview with Oliver Queen and Laurel Lance. She gets the first question. She says when I first got the job, I didn't think I could do it, but I wanted to honor my father's legacy. Oliver is then asked about Robert's legacy.
Oliver with Emiko. He tells her he needs to make things right.
Oliver says my father sacrificed for me and I'll always be grateful. The reporter calls him a true hero.
Oliver says I'll prove I'm nothing like him. She says you're a Queen. Your family destroys everything it touches. Oliver begs for a chance. You're my sister. She says I have no family.
Oliver says his goal was always to serve the city. He promises to no longer hide in the shadows and always be on the right side of the law. Trust is built through transparency and I will prove it.
Felicity tells Oliver he was amazing. Mission accomplished. Oliver says we'll see. He says he needs Emiko to see he and Robert are not the same person.
Lyla has China White. She doesn't want to join the Suicide Squad. She says Arrow was a criminal and you fought alongside him. Then they talk to Slade's son. And Miss Cutter. LOL. Curtis bursts in. It's the ghost of villains past in here. Lyla pulls him out.
The Ghost Initiative is just a cooler name for Suicide Squad. LOL. John and Lyla tell Curtis about Dante. He asks why he was left in the dark. Lyla says the lead came from Diaz. He says they've lost their minds. John says we know this is not ideal. ARGUS doesn't know we're using Ghost Initiative to go after Dante. Lyla needs his help. Make sure the tech isn't rejected by their bodies after insertion. John says it's not a request.
Laurel and Felicity meet at a bar. Earth 2 Laurel is not an alcoholic. So Felicity pours the wine. Laurel asks why call me. felicity says she wanted to celebrate after the incredible interview. Quentin would be proud of you. Felicity excuses herself. But says pace yourself. We will drink this whole bottle. News talks about Laurel. A man addresses her. She says that's impossible.
Earth 2. Her first scream victim.
We both know you're not as perfect as you say you are. You should be behind bars. He's escorted out for having too much to drink.Felicity asks who was that guy? Laurel urges Felicity to leave. But the wine!
Interviewer is attacked by a lightning bolt.
SCPD. Dinah and Oliver talk about the crime. Wasn't a random attack. Oliver doesn't think it's a coincidence. The man is on TV. Someone beat him up to make him say Oliver is a fraud and a liar and if he doesn't quit, people will suffer.
Laurel has a note threatening her on her desk.
Curtis and John arguing about the Initiative again. Bombs are just a failsafe, that's all. Curtis says there has to be a better way. John wishes there were.
Laurel enters Felicity's apartment. She's weirded out by the security system. So that's going to be a running gag. Laurel wants help. I need to know if someone from Earth 2 is here. Felicity asks who was the guy at the bar? Laurel wants no questions. Bret Collins. Felciity says one of these days you'll realize you can trust people.
Dinah and Oliver. Oliver says the video guy is new at this. Was uploaded at a coffee shop. What are we looking for? Windows. Found a match. Let's go get him.
Oliver in costume. No reporter. A guy runs. Oliver tells Dinah. Reporter hanging from a rope. Oliver says you don't want to do that. The man says wrong and drops the reporter. Oliver shoots a net to catch him. Dinah asks if anyone has eyes on the target. Oliver lost him.
**Anyone else think the apartment has pretty depressing decor? It's like a Communist building from the USSR and East Germany days.
Oliver updates Felicity. People without the last name Queen are human beings, too. She agrees it's strange. Oliver says it's familiar. Pull up a transcript with Dr. Parker. He points out a page. Files from the DA weren't redacted. Why these sessions? Sam Hackett, son of the man lost at sea. He read the sessions and found out Robert murdered the man. She gets an alert. I have to go. Sorry. I love you.
Diaz. Curtis enters. You look a little nervous. It wasn't personal. Curtis says it's best to not talk during the procedure. The other 3 are in here, too. Curtis makes sure the bombs work. You all need to take a nap while I check the bombs work. Diaz says it's strange you think it's a good idea to give me drugs. He's free. Wake them up! Grabs Curtis and forces him to reverse the drugs. Diaz frees them. They force Curtis out of the room.
Another note on Laurel's car. I'm coming for you.
Alley. Drunk outside the bar. She says you haven't changed a bit. He says you have. Playing make believe lawyer. You're a wolf in sheep's clothing. She says you should've stayed on Earth 2. Threatening me is a bad idea. I should've finished you off the first time. Though I doubt anyone would miss you. Felicity gets there. We need to leave. You're going to tell me what's going on.
The Glades. Dinah and Oliver. Sam Hackett's apartment. My father killed Dave, his father. She didn't know. Nobody knew until Dr. Parker. They knock. Then bust in. Wall of crazy. Sam went to the North China Sea. Holding out hope his father was alive. They find the transcripts. Dinah uncovers materials. Some sort of weapon.
Alarm in ARGUS. They attack the soldiers. Nothing lethal so far, though. Curtis hides under a desk. Diaz escapes while more deal with the others. Curtis has keys. He attacks Diaz. And it doesn't go well. Not prepared enough. Diaz strangling him. And snaps his neck. Takes the van. Curtis dead with his eyes open on the ground.
Diaz calls Dante. ARGUS is coming for you. Curtis on the phone. It was a sim the whole time. Curtis put him in a virtual reality world. Dante will be really pissed you gave us everything to get him. ARGUS thanks you for your service.
77% of citizens support Oliver's removal from SCPD. Dinah says we can't stop him if we don't know where he is. Oliver says fire me. I wore that mask for a reason. The consequences are catching up to me. I put lives in danger. She says you're not unless you stop fighting for people. He says I didn't look at all the ways I'm exactly like my father. I should've talk to Sam years ago. Dinah says all you can control is what you do moving forward.
Felicity confronts Laurel about the confrontation. Laurel says Collins was the drunk driver that killed my father when I was 13. When I got my cry, I killed him. Or I thought I killed him until he showed up here. Felicity asks why keep this one a secret? Laurel says he caused the accident, but he wasn't the reason my father was on the road. He worked a lot. On my birthday, we'd celebrate. He showed up without my cake. He went back out and Collins drove him off the road. The last words I said to him were I hate you. My dad died because of me. Felicity says can you get how irrational that is? It was not your fault. If someone's after you, we'll get him. Together.
Analyst has the logo for Star City Electric. Oliver says try Dave Hackett. He works there since 2015. GPS trackers in the vans.
Cops spot a man at the box at the police station. They confront him. Power goes out. And things start blowing and shocking everyone unconscious.
Oliver up. Checks on others. Sam says that was only a warning. You're all going to suffer. This vest and every substance that can hold a current deadly. Until I find Oliver Queen, every minute, a body drops. Oliver tells Dinah to get outside to the grid. I'll stall him. Oliver comes out. You want me, I'm here. Let these people go. They have nothing to do with this.
Dinah trying to get out.
Sam says I know what you really are. Oliver says I did lie about your father. He made it to the life raft and my father murdered your dad so I could survive. I worried I'd be judged for the sins of my father, but I never gave you a chance at closure. I'm truly sorry. Sam says we're way past apologies My father is gone because of you and I need to make that right.
Dinah gets outside.
Sam says kill him, you live. Don't, you all fry. You have until the count of 3. A cop doesn't want to die and pulls his gun. Oliver says I understand. Sam says pull the damn trigger. But the cop can't. Then I guess we all die.
Dinah shoots the box. Lights come back on.
Oliver takes Sam down. Nobody dies tonight. That includes you.
Oliver tells the story to the interviewer. Confesses that Robert killed Dave Hackett. People of Star City deserve the truth. Transparency is about more than just not wearing a mask. I've made mistakes. I'll make mistakes again. But I won't lie. That is my promise to you, the people of Star City.
ARGUS. John is impressed with Curtis' work. Your VR program is a game changer. But Ghost Initiative is not canceled. It still has value. We can get in their heads. Save a lot of lives in the field. John says when Dante is over, we'll shut this down. Curtis won't follow orders blindly anymore.
Felicity and Laurel tell Dinah about the stalker. They have Bret Collins in custody. Cop picked him up for intoxication and he has a history. And Bret from Earth 2 died on his earth 5 years ago from unknown causes.
Laurel has a stalker? Felicity is proud of Oliver's interview. Emiko shows up. I saw your interview. That took guts. He says it was the truth. Took me too long to say it. She says but you did. It's a start. She used to imagine the mansion. The glamorous life. Your father robbed me of a family. But I see now you are different from him. Oliver says I'm trying to be. She's ready to think about talking. He'll take that.
Dinah gets in her car. There's a note for her, too, like Laurel got. What the what?
Next ep - Mask attacks vigilantes. Goes after Oliver.
