Episode 10, series finale:

My name is Oliver Queen. After 5 years in Hell, I returned home with only one goal - to save my city.

There's a part of me that will always be the Green Arrow.

Starling City 2014. Moira sacrificing herself to Slade for her kids. Oliver has a knife. Cuts loose and tackles Slade.

Moira Queen learned there's a whole other world where I died. The people that knew my son best tell me that when Oliver sacrificed himself during the Crisis, everything changed. The world we're living in now is a gift from him. We're trying to process it.

Dinah. Rene. A world of heroes. A documentary that becomes a memorial for Oliver Queen. John says nothing happens the way you expect it to happen. Certainly the case with Oliver and his mission. Oliver said he'd go it alone and the mission would never be over. He's thanked for his words. That was very moving. Rene arrives. Let's go. he and John walk away. Rene says crime in Star City disappeared overnight. He saved the city. Come on, it's time.

Drinking vodka in the bunker to toast Oliver. What's the plan after the funeral? Lance wants Rene to become mayor. Dinah to become chief. It's a month after Crisis. John says Oliver's mission is far from over.

Flashback. 2012. Starling City. Oliver returns to John. Oliver took care of Torello. John Burn is the next name on the list. Beer company is a front for human trafficking. This doesn't end. The mission is never over.

The raft. Wow, Stephen looked so young back when with no facial hair. Mia wakes from a dream. Sara came in a time portal. This is a nice room. Mia asks why she came? To take you to your father's funeral.

John on the salmon ladder. Rene says your arms are the size of telephone poles. Heh. Dinah checks on Laurel. Laurel says she's fine like always. Time for the Mark of IV. Roy is nervous about the funeral. I left Thea abruptly. Roy doesn't want her to be the ex.

John and Rene. Felicity hasn't made it out of bed. He doesn't know how to help her.

Flashback. John and Oliver. Black Armada. Oliver still doing missions alone. John says you're afraid I'll stop you from committing cold blooded murder. Take him to prison. (The trafficker.) Oliver says killing him is justice. John says at what cost.

Mia on the computers. Dinah doesn't know why she's here. Mia says Sara brought her for the funeral. She's trying to help her mom. Sara told me to not tell about the future. Something happened a few weeks ago. I couldn't do anything to stop it and I'm already failing at being the Green Arrow. Dinah says your father would be so, so proud or how you're carrying all of that. Mia says I can't do the one thing he wanted me to, protect my family. Alert. Archer Protocol. William was abducted in Central City tonight! Police have no suspects.

Curtis on the computer now. Roy apologizes to Thea. She says your timing is a little not great. John and Dinah. Felicity's not answering anything. Then she comes through the elevator doors. They hug her. She sits at the computers. She put a tracking device in William's arm when he moved. Wow. Even Ragman is here. John says Oliver made the ultimate sacrifice for his friends and family. Now his friendly needs our help. This is our most important mission. Suit up.

Wayne Industries. Thea and Roy. He insists on explaining himself. I got my whole life back and I realized I want you in it. Forever and always. Will you marry me? Kord Industries is the next visit.

Ragman has working rags? Rene would've fired shots in the air. LOL. They search a building. A while is what it took for the rags to work again. He's been working for justice. To honor Oliver. He tells Rene you're the most like him.

Spartan and Lyla. William not here, either. She's panicked. Oliver put our family back together. What happens if we can't do the same for his? John promises they will.

Mia Green Arrow. Finds William being held by a man. Who the hell are you?

The man says you're wearing his hood, you should know.

Flashback to Oliver taking out men in a factory. The beer maker human trafficker. The Hood shooting arrows into everyone. I miss when he was so dominant. These scenes were badass. Classic Arrow making Oliver seem invincible. He keeps going up levels. And then the paramilitary guys tackle him and beat on him. He shoots an arrow up and escapes the crowd. On the roof now. Zipline to another part. Cool landing. John Burn, you have failed this city.

Mia tells Burn to let William go. 8 years in Iron Heights. I got nothing left to live for. Go ahead! But she can't kill him. If Oliver Queen didn't kill you, then neither will I. But you're going back to prison.

Mia and teen William. Sara shows Felicity that's Mia. John says she had good parents. Sara asks do you want to meet her? Felicity doesn't know. She's here but she's also at home, waiting for me, and I get to see her grow up. I'm not sure I want to rush that.

Dinah tells Mia there's something on the news you should see. Covering William's rescue. We can only speculate he inspired a new generation of heroes to carry on his mission. Dinah says like I said - proud.

**Nice to get all these images of so many characters in one shot. Crowded bunker. Will Slade be at Oliver's funeral? Hope they convinced Manu to give a few minutes.

John working the kali sticks. Oliver says don't use just your arms. Power comes from your hips. Get real good at that, maybe I'll take you into the field. Oliver tells him Burn is being arraigned in the morning. Let's consider John Burn proof of concept.

Thea looking at photos in Queen Mansion. Moira let Roy in. New Moira seems to like me more than the old one. Thea says you were a criminal. He regrets nothing. Loving you has changed my life, Thea. She wants him to promise if he freaks out again, to tell her instead of just leaving. Promise. Then yes. I will marry you, Roy Harper. They kiss. AWWW

Police station. Quentin gets a visit from Laurel. She wants to talk. It's about Oliver. Who his sacrifice brought back. Quentin. Tommy. Moira. But not the other me. Your Laurel. You're all the people Oliver would want his sacrifice to bring back. She would've been on that list, too, if it wasn't for me. Quentin says there's nothing about you that needed to be fixed.

John in the bunker. Rene and Dinah arrive. John says the mission is over. Accepting that meant accepting Oliver's gone. But he'd like to think somehow Oliver is still here. Rene will be mayor soon. Lyla got a promotion, so she and John are moving to Metropolis! Dinah says so am I. I'm not taking the promotion. Lots of cities need saving. Rene says them leaving feels kinda personal. LOL. John says Let's dim the lights. He and Rene get in the elevator. Dinah pulls the lever. Rene's going to miss this place. John says we all will. the bunker goes dark.

The dedication of Oliver's statue. Quentin hated Oliver Queen. I blamed him for the death of my youngest daughter. The violence in my city. I hunted him. Persecuted him. I've never been more wrong in my life. Oliver is a good man. An honorable person. He stands as a reminder to all of us that anyone can change. So will this. Statue revealed in the park. They all hold candles.

Queen Mansion. Robert Queen's stone. Moira and Thea. Oliver should only change the things that didn't change him. If Robert didn't do what he did, Oliver would never become the man he was. Emiko wanted to meet them. Oliver told me a lot about you. Moira says you are welcome here any time. Tommy and Laurel! This Earth Laurel, she was my wife. It's strange seeing this Laurel. But there's something nice about it, too. Nyssa and Talia! Sara comes over. Thanks Nyssa for coming. Sara, this is my sister, Talia. Talia, this is Sara, my beloved.

Mia comes over to Felicity. Wow. Mia says Dad had a very similar reaction. He trained me. He taught me to be a hero. Like him. They hug. Barry hugs Felicity. He was a good man. I was there at the end, but I'm tortured with the thought I could've done more. Should've done more. Felicity says no. You did everything you could. I know you. John hugs Felicity. Anatoly says there's no body, no? Tommy says they buried a casket full of mementos. Kara says words seem meaningless. felicity tells John it should be you. They hold hands. The Oliver I met 8 years ago is not the one we say goodbye to today. Oliver said he had to become something else. The Green Arrow. Today I know that meant becoming a better man. He changed all of us. Inspired all of us here. I was his brother and Oliver Queen was mine.

Life will go on. Packing the kids in the car. Moving house. What twists and turns it'll take, I can't say. I don't know what the future holds. Mia goes home. Expect the unexpected. A meteor lands? Outside John's moving van.

Oliver's mission endures. Lives on in the people he inspired. Oliver Queen Memorial Drive. People leaving town.

If the past 8 years has shown us anything, it's that this universe is far bigger than any of us imagined. He opens a box with glowing green inside! From space!

Oliver Queen's grave. 2040. The Monitor takes Felicity to see Oliver. They walk through a breach.

She's young in the office. Red pen. Queen Consolidated? She looks at a photo. Oliver and his father. Oliver says hi. Glad you could finally make it. She goes to him and kisses him. His hair is shorter. Less beard. She says this is so nice. He says this is my mom's office. He says this is where I first saw you. He was sneaking around. Saw her do IT work here. He says we have all the time in the world for me to tell it to you. They look out the window at the city.

And that's it.

Tribute show before the episode:

8 years ago, it all began. The show that changed the face of superheroes on television.

We look back and celebrate the unforgettable series that started it all.

Hitting the Bullseye.

The pilot. Oliver's origin story. Greg Berlanti had an idea to do the Green Arrow on television.

Stephen looked so young. Katie with her pretty dark hair. Diggle and Oliver meeting. Oliver's first base for The Hood.

Seasons 1 and 2 were the best. Great action and mysteries and surprises. Roy and Thea. Tommy saving Laurel. And then the building...... Tommy dying in Oliver's arms was so sad.

But already in season 2, they would minimize Laurel and write her in a way that a lot of people thought she was unlikable. Oliver's journey in seasons 1 and 2 was great, but the show already started making mistakes with bending to shippers and not giving Laurel Lance the Black Canary the respect she should've had as the lead actress on the show. She got sidelined for a plucky upstart girl that had a high school crush on Oliver. He fit with Sara better. Someone who understood all sides of him then.

Oliver and Slade fight. Left Slade to die in the past.

Laurel Lance feature. The lost love. Never should've killed off the original Laurel. Severely damaged the show's ratings and reputation.

Bond of Brothers. Diggle and Oliver. The moral compass.

Smoak Signals. Chemistry? Bleh. Oliver found her amusing. Like a little sister. Comic relief is fine. But SO MUCH AIR TIME.

Curtis examples to wink at the viewer. Pop culture Easter eggs.

Queen of Hearts. Oy, Olicity. Her babbling. It never made sense that he asked her out. He only did it because John said so! He'd just been serious with Sara! Should've killed her off with that restaurant damage.

They show the public proposal.

This show lost its way when it listened too much to shippers and not enough staying a comic book show that people came to seasons 1 and 2 for. When the story drops your ratings that much, you need to listen to that feedback!

I don't hate Felicity, but she was always too immature for Oliver. Too black and white. Too judgy. Lacking understanding of what he is because of what he's lived through. He's the best at his job when people accept his darkness while not letting him deep dive into it. In other words, the shades of GRAY. John was already there to be the compass. Oliver didn't need a troublemaker girl that frequently made decisions that got her or the team nearly killed - or killed a whole town.

And at the same time, all the focus on Felicity took time away from the woman HIRED to be the lead female! Laurel deserved better. Katie deserved better. Plenty of actresses would've moved on years ago.

Back to the show - superheroes inspiring people. Roy, Thea, Dinah, Laurel, Curtis.... Rene and Dinah. Mia and Nyssa. William.

The Perfect Shot. All the action. The crew that makes it possible. Making the actors look cool.

Rite of Passage. Stephen's shape for the pilot. the salmon ladder is a rite of passage on the show. Oliver doing the salmon ladder. Stephen is glad he can do it still after all these years. Katie likes how her body transformed. Stephen worked really hard for the Ra's fight on the mountain. Didn't have a stunt double for that scene.

The Big Bads. Damian Dahrk. Neal McDonough is so fun as a bad guy. Michael Emerson probably underused on the show. Kurt Acevedo as Ricardo Diaz. His chair on set said The Dragon. Adrian Chase Prometheus. Stephen thought it was cool they let him win. Blowing up Lian Yu. Hey, finally showing SLADE. Manu Bennett! Deathstroke was epic. David Ramsay says season 2 is the best season.

Laurel dying in the hospital. :( I know I'm not the love of your life, but you will always be the love of mine.

Family. Love makes it precious. Tommy's advice to Oliver. John and Oliver. Stephen says the show is about a guy honoring his father's wishes and saving his city and maybe finding something for himself along the way.

What would've been if they kept Tommy alive into season 2? Ever ponder that? What would it have meant for Laurel as well as Oliver? Or if he was alive when Thea found out she was a Merlyn.

Supernatural commercial - The CW HAS to do a special commemorating 15 seasons if Arrow gets one for 8.

The Arrowverse. The Flash. Oliver and Barry. The crossovers. The Batman is an urban legend. LOLOLOL. The old Legends characters. Supergirl. Batwoman arriving.

Next Gen 2040. No one listens to the tech guy! LOL. Mia's new Team Arrow. Vigilantes being outcasts in Star City. The Glades walled up. Then Oliver meets the kids from the future. Adult William is very likable. Mia, they had to fix in the backdoor pilot.

Path to Redemption. Oliver making amends with Rene. You're a good man. John wearing the suit again. Berlanti talks about Oliver being healed through the course of the show.

10 minutes of the special left. The blurb for the finale mentions nothing of what the actual episode does.

Oliver saying goodbye to Thea again. Stephen said goodbye through all The Final Season. Callbacks. Love letter to the fans. Anatoly and Oliver. Tatsu. Laurel and Quentin. One last goodbye to all the characters. Oliver had to believe that The Monitor's plan meant something.

Mission Complete. Crisis. Spectre vs. Anti-Monitor. You have failed this universe. Starting a new universe. Oliver sacrificed his life to save everything. He saved his city.

The Final Episode. Thank you for coming along on this journey with us. Tribute to all our fans. Favorite moments. They hope the fans are proud of how the show went out. Satisfied with closure. The end of an era. Feel the gratitude we poured into the show.

The Journey. Berlanti calls it a transformative experience. David calls it a dream job. Katie says it's not goodbye, it's until next time. Cast is sad to say goodbye. Proud of making so many episodes. It's been a family that's now going their separate ways. Stephen says it's been everything to me. The friendships I've made along the way. Transformative in every way you'd imagine it would be.
