“Broken Trust”
SUPERMAN & LOIS RETURNS TONIGHT WITH NEW EPISODES — Clark (Tyler Hoechlin) reconsiders his decision to let Jordan (Alex Garfin) play football. Meanwhile, Lois’ (Elizabeth Tulloch) continued investigation of Morgan Edge (Adam Rayner) requires her to trust an unexpected ally. Emmanuelle Chriqui, Dylan Walsh, Erik Valdez, Inde Navarrette and Wole Parks also star. (#106). The episode was directed by Sudz Sutherland and written by Katie Aldrin. Original airdate 5/18/2021.
Episode 6:
Running from Tag. Jordan's beat up. Tag wants answers of how and why he's different since that night. Tell me how to fix it! Jordan activates the alarm for his father. Superman arrives right away. Tag runs. Severs train tracks. Superman rescues it. But Tag is now gone.
Farm. Lois asks Jordan if he's okay. Jordan has a pounding headache. Tag wanted answers. He saw the video of the explosion I caused at the mine. Johnathan worries. Clark asks for a minute for the parents to talk. Boys leave the kitchen. General Lane called. Tag escaped by a fluke. Lois says Morgan Edge is at fault. Clark can't see inside the mines. Lined with lead fiber. So she'll investigate. Focus on the boys until Tag is in custody. She suspects Edge is the Stranger. Gotta find out.
Clark serves the boys. Jordan hears the scrape of a fork as an ear-splitting noise. Clark suggests Jordan sit out of the game. Johnathan says it's the biggest game of the season. Jordan pleads to play. Clark says after school, you'll prove you're 100%.
Edge giving a speech at the mine to get Smallvillians back to work. Edge thanks Kyle for giving him a shot. Offers Lyla a job as leader. You have the people's trust and I want to use that trust to revitalize Smallville, starting with the community center. When you see your new starting salary, you'll say yes. Lois shows up. Edge doesn't consider her a threat. Luthor is here, too.
Jordan and John discussing the game. Jordan reacts to the locker closing. Sarah is coming to the game. Wants to root for her friends. Bell rings and Jordan's eyes glow from his pain.
John gets Jordan in in the bathroom for privacy. John says you need to tell Dad! Jordan pleads to have the game. Let me shut up those Metropolis guys just once.
Lois comes to Kyle and Lana's place. Tells them Edge is engaged in illegal and dangerous activity and I'm asking for help to get in the mines to prove it. I know it's a big ask. But Superman is looking into Edge, too. Kyle isn't on board. I should call Edge and get a restraining order. I just got off the phone with a buddy who hasn't worked for 8 months. Now he has a job to feed his family. Lana is sorry, but they need to help the town. Lois tells her to be careful.
Clark with the boys under the barn. Start with a log. Just punch it. Jordan does and it hurts. Clark takes a different approach. Tells him how to punch. John says imagine the log is Cutter's face and he's laughing at you. Jordan punches again and leaves a fist dent. They celebrate. Sam calls Clark. Tag's in Metropolis. Where the football game is tomorrow. Sam has a plan, you stay with the boys. Clark says he's a kid, he needs help. Sam is going to incapacitate a threat.
Lana can't find a babysitter for a promotion celebration. Tells Sarah that your dad is trying. Sarah offers to watch Sophie. Your new job is kinda a really big deal and you deserve to celebrate. You work really hard and give back to the community. You deserve the karma you're getting. Lana says maybe it's a start.
Tag spying.
Metropolis High School. Jordan says he's fine. Coach tells him to knock 55 on his backside. The whistle blows and Jordan's hurting. Quarterback gets tackled while he's distracted. Clark calls Lois. She asks if he's sure Jordan is okay. He says something's going on, but Jordan won't tell him. John volunteers as replacement quarterback. Coach gives him a play. Jordan gets 55 this time. Clark calls Jordan over to rein it in or you're done. Understand? Good. Go sit down.
Lois gets a knock on the door. She has her alarm in case. But it's Luthor. "Marcus". A friend got him 2 inspector badges. She's suspicious. He says the mines are packed with inspectors and security is stretched thin. In or out?
They're dressed up. Luthor gets them past security.
Sarah and Sophie. Have to find something we both want to watch. Doorbell. Pizza guy. Sarah caves on giving Sophie the movie choice. It's Tag! You've always been my friend. He vibrates. She tries to close the door, he pushes, and she falls and knocks herself out.
Football game. Johnathan gets a touchdown and Smallville wins. A fight breaks out on the field. Jordan's struggling with his eyes. Clark goes to him. Jordan can't hold it in. Let it out now. Clark takes it in his hand. Poor kid - his powers seem to hurt so far, except for using his strength.
**Continue to love how Johnathan cares for his brother.
Lana had a good time tonight. Kyle says good. That dinner wasn't cheap. She says we need to talk about logistics. My new hours and the kids. Kyle says he's really proud of her. You're the brains of this family. You deserve to be happy. She is. Then whatever comes next, they'll handle it. Sophie comes out. Did you get dessert? Sarah's missing. Kyle checks the security camera.
Jordan says he's fine. Insists he could've controlled it. Clark pushes him to tells what's going on. Jordan says I had a moment. John says that's not true. First time he had an episode, it stopped, he seemed fine. Jordan says I had a migraine, but I handled it. Jordan says he's a weird kid with headaches. I wanted to be good at something. That's all. Clark says that's not what your powers are for. Jordan says I'm not you! Lana calls Clark. Did Sarah come to the game? Kyle sees the Harris kid on the video and Lana hangs up. Clark tells the boys to stay in the hotel room and leaves.
Lois and Luthor investigating.
Sarah wakes up. Tag, what the hell. Where are we? Metropolis. How? He says I can move pretty fast now. He's burned through a ton of shoe soles.
Lois is curious about Luthor. "Marcus". He finds the Kryptonite. X-K. Reverse form of Kryptonite. Largest supply anywhere. There's your story, Miss Lane. Edge's henchgirl says too bad no one's going to read it and attacks them.
Superman in the air.
John and Jordan not seeing news about him, yet. John asks if he's mad. Nope. But he's tired of being told what to do. Boys knock on their room. Players want to celebrate. John says my pops said we gotta stay here. The boys still want liquor, though. Jordan wants to go, so they go.
Lois and Luthor. He shoots the enemy with a thing and they escape from her.
Tag shows Sarah the video from the mine night. Jordan did something. I had to tell someone I trust. Maybe you can help me. Superman arrives. I'm here to help you.
Crows hanging out and Metropolis team arrives. Cutter is a jerk toward Johnathan. Jordan steps up to them. Cutter asks if he's juicing. Eggs Jordan on.
Superman promises Tag will be safe and get the answers, but right now, We need to leave. I need you to trust me. But the Soldiers arrive before they can get out.
Johnathan intercedes when Jordan's going to punch Cutter. Jordan impacts Johnathan's hand.
Superman gets shot with Kryptonite so they can get to Tag.
Superman stands up. Pulls the Kryptonite out, tosses it, burns it up. Stand. Down!
He confronts General Lane. Clark says it never occurred to me you'd use live rounds, let alone ones armed with Kryptonite. Clark hears Jordan call and zooms out.
Lois pushes Luthor to tell who he really is. Clark calls her. How bad? I'm on my way.
John wears a cast for 6-8 weeks. Maybe he gets full range of motion back. Jordan says he's sorry. John says you got emotional, I stepped in like an idiot, and now I have a broken arm and probably won't play quarterback again. Thanks for that. He storms out. Clark pushes Jordan to understand that those powers come with responsibility. Lois says they know it's an accident. Clark says That anger? I have those feelings, too. But I keep them in check. Other people are more afraid of what I can do than I am. 20 years later, that trust is tested every time I use my powers. Including today. And that trust takes a lot more to fix than a broken wrist. Lois says we'll talk more. Go to bed. She tells Clark about Leslie Larr and Marcus and the ray gun.
Sarah and Jordan. She tells him about Tag's video and suspicions about Jordan. He says I don't know why he said that. Sarah says you know you can tell me, right? Yeah, of course. Okay.
Lois and Lana. Lana tells her what Tag told Sarah. Asks about the mines. Lois says Edge is up to something. I just don't know exactly what. Lana wants to help. Is Kyle okay with this? Lana says best to keep this between us for now.
Lois tells Jordan we have a ton of rocky road in the freezer and I can't handle it all by myself. You think I'm 6? No. But sometimes I wish you were. Jordan doesn't know how to fix this. I can still hear Johnathan's bones snapping. I just had to lie to Sarah. I think some part of me thought the powers would bring me closer to people, but all they do is push me away. I just want it to end. He's got the migraine ringing again and it's a seizure in him this time. Clark rushes him to the Fortress.
Next ep - Jordan wearing noise blocking headphones. Lois finding the Stranger.
