Legend of Tomorrow ends with season 7
Bad and sad news today, folks. The CW has not renewed Legends.
Co-showrunner Keto Shimizu broke the news on Twitter:
“Well, folks. It’s been an incredible run. However, the CW has let us know that there will be no Season 8 of Legends of Tomorrow. We are heartbroken, but also immensely grateful for the amazing work our cast, crew, and writers have contributed to the little show that could.”

Alright, sit down. This is gonna hurt. We're cancelled. This has been the journey of a lifetime for all of us. The little show that wasn't supposed to be, grew into the show that could be anything it wanted.
We went to Camelot, Salvation, Hollywood, even Inside A Computer's Mind but of course, the real destination was always home: the place where your family are friends and your friends are family.
We will desperately miss creating this show, but most of all we will miss getting to make it together and sharing it with you. Legends Never Die! - The Legends Writers' Room
It marks the end of a long road for the series, which premiered in 2016.
While The CW is known for giving its longer-running series a proper goodbye, this season of Legends ended on a cliffhanger. Sources, however, pointed out that the characters can easily populate other series in the DC Arrowverse so you may see one or two of them in other shows.
Legends this season averaged 860,000 total weekly viewers and a 0.2 demo rating (with Live+7 playback), up in audience and steady in the demo versus its previous season.
Out of the 19 dramas The CW has aired this TV season, it ranks No. 9 in total audience and trails only All American, The Flash, and Superman & Lois in the demo.
